Wonderful service! We have a bunch of vegetarians in our family and they were easily able to make us dishes that accommodated our needs. Wonderful!
Worst dining experience of my life. We were seated next to a table of loud, drunk and obnoxious guests. For the price of this meal we deserved a better experience. There were many tables open in the restaurant so we inquired of the manager if we could be moved to another table. He assured us that this would be no problem as they were setting a clean table. He NEVER returned and we were forced to endure the remainder of our meal in this drunk party. I will never return. This kind of service is inexcusable. Don’t promise something and then not deliver. If you want a space to visit and and converse this is NOT the place. You might think this review is an outlier - all I can say is this is my first Open Table review and I’m a frequent diner.
There was a little mix up at the start which was every bit my fault. The management was very gracious throughout the experience and very patient I had a 7:15 reservation and most of the party did not arrive till 8:00. Again management was stand up gracious . The rest of the time was an enjoyable evening with great food and company. Hat off to all at Landini Brothers. You can’t go wrong here.
The food and wine as always were outstanding. Service was impeccable; and our server had a lovely sense of humor. The only issue was the noise level. On the other side of the dining room, there was a table of ladies who were very loud. I really wish people would realize that the rest of the world might not be interested in their conversation.
Perhaps Open Table could offer tips on acceptable dining behavior.
We have visited often over the years, the food is always consistent and very good. A one go to when in DC. We brought someone new along and were disappointed with the service. We really appreciate a relaxed not rushed service but there was a more than usual timeframe between receiving salads and entree. Shame on us, Never knew they do not have beer or ales on tap ? Then not one Italian beer? We were in between menus 4p on a Friday and there were no specials determined. Okay can deal with that.
Overall expectations - not met
Might be an off day, we hope so!
Service was excellent, food was great, reasonably priced for DC
As usual, Landini Bros was totally pleasant with excellent service. Food generally excellent except that my vitello was oversauced and I had to pay extra to substitute pasta for the roasted potatoes on offer. My favorite dessert, flute al limoncello, is the perfect rich but refreshing dessert after a big meal. The only big negative was the noise. We asked for a quiet table, and they tried to accommodate, but still the noise level just from conversations (well there were a coule of guys with booming voices!) was overwhelming and made conversation at our table difficult. Finally when the crowd cleared out, it became pleasant. This was on a Monday night...
Food well prepared and well presented. Waiter was attentive but no clingy.
Mother’s Day dinner chosen before the dinner rush to get a more intimate experience. Food was pretty good. However, for the price point and advertising as a higher end choice, the service was poor. It’s all about the dining experience at this price point. Saw our sever 2x. 1x greet, 1x order and then never again. Different people delivered wine and food. Never an offer for another glass of wine, no water refill offer, no dessert offer, had to go to the greeter stand to request our bill. Someone else brought our bill. Probably not there again as there are several other Italian choices close with a better combination of food and experience.
We didn't receive the meals that we ordered. The eggs benedict was supposed to come with roasted potatoes but instead came with mashed potatoes with brown gravy. We ordered two with lobster and one with ham but all three were served with lobster. We ordered fettuccini alfredo which was awful. In addition to this the food was served barely warm. Our appetizer and salads were more in keeping with the quality I have come to expect from Landini Brothers.
Spent mother’s day with table of 9. Food was average, and service was poor. Disappointing experience.
Had a reservation for 7:15 pm. Arrived at 7 pm and hostess looked at are by bar and said our table wasn’t ready which was fine as we arrived early. At 7:30 I approached the hostess and she quickly said our table was ready- she took us to the back dining area where there were numerous tables open. The daily specials weren’t listed anywhere in writing and we recited by the waiter whom had a thick accent and hard to understand. We ordered our and 45 minutes later I asked the waiter where our food was - mind you three tables who ordered after us we already eating. Manager came out to apologize for the delay. Food was not worth the price. Veal parmigiana was very salty, the lobster linguine was very bland and must have been sitting because it was Luke warm. Manager didn’t even offer any type of compensation. Experience was not worth $116!
The positives - the food was pretty good.
The negatives - the service was ehh okayyy. They weren’t rude or anything but our interactions with the waiter were few and very quick. Felt kind of like we were wasting the waiters time and even the lady who dropped off the bread. The prices are to be expected but I dont think the value was there. And the ambiance was kind of cool but way too dark and quiet. I wasn’t very impressed with the pasta options considering it’s an Italian restaurant there were very few... but the did accommodate my craving that day and make a chicken parm even though it wasn’t on the menu.
Our experience was outstanding! We had a group of 11 for a small family reunion and Landini Brothers restaurant was absolutely perfect spot for our luncheon. We had a long table in the bar area. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious! We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Highly recommended this restaurant!
Great overall experience. Did the valet service, $5 why not!!! Love brick walls and paintings, reminded my wife and me of our honeymoon in Venice. When I reserved I mentioned it was our anniversary and they did a little something special on the table, thank you. My wife ordered the ravioli and I ordered the rack of lamb, both delicious. I wasn't big fan of the sauce that came with my lamb but everything else was great. Great personalized treatment, loved it. Will definitely be back!!!
love the place but you have to make sure they check you in or you receive an email from open table.
Excellent food and quaint atmosphere! The homemade pasta is delicious.
I have been coming here for years great place for that business lunch or that special occasion dinner
Landini Brothers offers a good value and terrific food and service. The traditional Italian dishes are delicious.
All three of us found the food to be excellent. Landini is favorite restaurant and we all thoroughly recommend it.
Food was exceptional - we had several veal dishes and the penne alla romana. We came for a birthday dinner and were treated to tiramisu. They went above and beyond with the table confetti and handwritten note. Will definitely be back!
Never fails. Good service. Good daily specials. Fish & veal the best choices. Moderate noise when the rooms are full.
The best restaurant in Old Town.
Relatives in town
Great food and service .
Arriving 15-20 minutes early, there were almost no occupied tables and the hostess wanted to place my party right in between two highly-trafficked doorways, to which my spouse requested for us to be moved to a less busy table. There was a lot of hesitation from the hostess about placing us where we suggested because those particular tables were reserved, but we needed to be out of there in 90 minutes. Dinner was okay. I mentioned a seafood allergy and mistakenly received mussels for an appetizer, which was promptly replaced by a salad. My spouse’s lobster was over cooked and, on the way home, I started having an allergic reaction to something I ate, which meant that there was some shellfish contamination along the way. Not necessarily a good experience at all. Unlikely ever to return. And also, the table that we weren’t allowed to sit at remained empty the e tire time we were there, even after the “requested” reservation time that the hostess mentioned.
We hosted out of town guests because it was a weekend night and Landini’s does an excellent job meeting & exceeding expectations even when it is a busy evening,
Wine selection is very good and the numerous specials offered across the menu: appetizers, salads and entrees is unequaled.
Great location, atmosphere was romantic and enjoyed the historical location!
Good food; personable wait staff; an excellent place for a first date, a special occasion, or dinner with a long-time friend!
Excellent service from the moment we walked into the restaurant. We asked for and were seated at a quiet table, away from the hustle-bustle. The restaurant was packed, so we were glad we had reservations. We celebrated a little, and started off with a pleasant-tasting bottle of champagne. We both started with a fresh house salad. Mrs. had veal with a white wine/brown sauce, while I had veal with a white wine/lemon sauce. Both were absolutely excellent (yes, we traded bites). The veal was fresh, tender and cooked perfectly. The sauces on both were absolutely excellent, very tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Tip: There are several parking garages in the area.
It took more than one hour for the main course to get to the table and it’s not hot... server really didn’t give a ... for our table .
Outstanding! Loved the sea bass special, and my husband really enjoyed his favorite standby penne w sausage in creamy tomato sauce.
This is the most wonderful restaurant. Service is exceptional. The wine list is great. The food is really tasty. We went for a birthday and they had laid out confetti and a card and it was a really nice touch. Highly recommend!
The food and the service at Landini Brothers is consistently OUTSTANDING! Always professional, always delicious! Highly recommend for any occasion.
Great Spot and a personal favorite! Great food, service, and overall dining experience!
Food was very good as usual . Service was attentive BUT we have had a recurring problem with the Specials .
Often they are the most appealing and diverse dishes presented . The waiter dutifully recited the Specials but
not the prices . In fact , he had to go back twice to the kitchen to even give us the charges . And the prices
are quite high ~$ 24 for appetizers , up to $ 40 for entrees . This much more than the regular menu items .
Perhaps , with the Specials the waiters should quote the price ?
Food was outstanding. Best mussels I ever had. really great
we had a reservation, we walk in say we had a reservation for 6pm gave them name. ok sir right this way. it was a reservation for 2. they sit in a small table against the wall, room is totally empty, 10 minutes later they sat a tourist family, with very young children at the table next to us. The room slowly fills up. The children were very well behaved. I receive an email that I did not show up for the reservation. I get up go to the hostess and tell her I just got an email that I did not make it for my reservation. she looks up my name, says "you had a reservation and we sat you there?" I said "yes you did" she says "I took care of it in the system. I said, well should we be sitting somewhere else, she hesitates and says "no". The food was ok, we had the grilled squid app, came under cooked, we had a calamari in marinara sauce entree, calamari was hard and not chewable. we had the seafood entree in wine sauce. the seafood was over cooked. One very good note about this place, the spices in each plate were spot on... but thats it.
Did not realize how pricey it was for a lunch. Vegetables were a bit hard, but I forgive that. Just didn't see the value for the very high lunch price.
