Great experience. Good food. Wonderful service.
The building is setup well inside with multiple smaller dining areas to break up noise. The menu is well done and diverse while sticking to the period theme. Staff was courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt. A great stop for a meal while exploring Colonial Williamsburg.
We love eating at King’s Arms! It is an experience and not simply a meal. It’s not cheap, but they do make an effort to create an 18th century ambiance. We do miss the wandering musicians, but hope that will come back soon.
One suggestion - please create a real kids menu with smaller portions of the “adult” meals and not just burgers, etc. that are not authentic.
Dinner was very good. Portions were huge. Peanut soup was as good as ever. Will be back.
Great experience we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere
Service and food was up to our experience in the past. The server explained the colonial foods and way of dining. A very pleasant experience.
Our service was excellent, as was the food. Authentic to 18th century tastes and delicious! Look forward to visiting again!
It was very nice. The food was unique and properly prepared. The peanut soup is a must try.
We had fantastic service. Our server was knowledgeable.
We visited in 2019 and considered it an experience in the past. So much so that we brought our grandson to experience the past. The meal was very good as well as the server. It wasn’t a step back into the past with the experience. It was simply a nice meal. We miss the way the food was explained and the presentation of each dish, we won’t be back.
Service was good. Explained menu very well. Loved the peanut soup.
We loved the bread and the three choices of topping. The catch of the day - baked salmon in a white wine sauce - was superb, as were our desserts: the syllabub and the bread pudding. And great to see a decent selection of draft beer!
The food has always been very good. We had an accommodating waitress who was very nice and professional. She stayed in keeping with the time period. It was a little loud in some areas as music was being piped through the speakers. I received caffeinated coffee instead of decaf which presented a problem sleeping last night. But, all in all we know we will get a tasty meal and nice service , which is why and we will always book Kings Arm Tavern when staying in Williamsburg
We visited a few years ago and our server, Christine, was amazing. She shared a lot of historical knowledge multiple times throughout our meal. This visit our server did not introduce himself and only shared 2 bits of historical information. The food was outstanding, and there was something on the menu for even our most "picky" eaters.
Waitress kind of rushed. Otherwise great. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Excellent food. Service great. Very warm inside, no a/c or air moving, just one small fan in the dining room.
Hunter's Pye was excellent. My d as ughter enjoyed the Squash "Steak".
The Tavern at Williamsburg was recently updated inside, including fresh, lighter color walls and more authentic fixtures. A new menu featuring researched foods that would have been served in that era was introduced. All the food translates well to modern dishes, and everything we sampled from apps to main dishes to dessert we enjoyed. I would recommend the experience to anyone visiting the historic district.
The food was fantastic. Our waitress was fun and entertaining. We will definitely be returning.
And outstanding experience for my entire family! Loved the food, the service, the stories! Highly recommended!
Nice experience with a good historical narrative from our server. Food was a little too salty but portion size was generous.
The service was impeccable and they were very accommodating when 2in our party were 15 minutes late. Parking is bit tricky need to research and no exactly where to park to access historic district.
This was a fun treat during our trip to Williamsburg.
Excellent food and service. I would recommend this to anyone
I feel this place is more about the experience being that it's right in the middle of Colonial Williamsburg rather than about the food. For the price, we did not really get that much food and it turns out the salmon was overcooked and dry. We thoroughly enjoyed being there though and the feeling of what it might have been like eating in that time period and our waitress, Sherrill, was superb. She had great stories that she told throughout our meal and took exceptional care of us.
We had a wonderful time! The peanut soup was delicious as always!!
Our waiter was wonderful with his recommendations and stories
Excellent food. The atmosphere is amazing!!
Overall the food was excellent but the noise from other patrons detracted from our experience.
Peanut soup was great. Game meat pie and prime was excellent. Punch was wonderful and Staff was on point.
Outstanding service and the Berry Crumble is to die for!!
Tavern dining isn’t really about the food, but cooking vegetables is elementary and it was a total fail. Fingerling potatoes appeared to have been cooked several days ago and carrots and green beans not cooked at all and barely warm. Prime Rib was good as was the service.
Great period correct ambience and meals. Waiter John was engaging and provided excellent service.
We celebrated our daughter’s birthday there. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious! They also have a kid’s menu. We can’t wait to go back!
Excellent food offerings. Adult beverages were very good. Our server was wonderful.
Really fun to capture the authentic dining experience at in old town Tavern. Too bad Virginia still remain so understaffed that these places can’t hire the people they need. That being said, the staff there did the best they could. Would still recommend.
We had a wonderful meal and experience. We rode our bikes around Colonial Williamsburg, which enabled us to pull right up to the restaurant. The ambience was authentic and fun. The punch bowl was delicious. We enjoyed the peanut soup as an app (heavy but flavorful and not cloying), prime rib and pork chop for dinner, and bread pudding for dessert. Everyone gave their meals a 5. Definitely worth a visit.
We had a great meal at the King’s Arm Tavern! Our server, Sherry was friendly and efficient. My husband had the lamb and it was very tasty. I had the game pie and really liked the combo in the filling as well as the crunchy crust. We enjoyed the manhattan and fish dip as an appetizer and they were tasty as well.
Food was amazing and the ambience was very nice. A little hot and no fans but overall very nice
Excellent food and staff. Hostess and waitress were very friendly. Prime rib was excellent.
