Kathmandu Valley calificaciones y reseñas
Food and service was good but not at the claimed rating of 5. I travelled a long way when I saw the 5 ratings across the board on Open table only to arrive to an empty restaurant, our first clue that someone stuffed the ratings. The clue was right and I was very disappointed with the experience.
Katmandu Valley is a great little gem, always order from the house specials and you won't be dissapointed. The curries are always tasty and varied and not too greasy like other curry houses.
The staff are always lovely and it's great value for what you get.
We go here often and it's great to eat in or get a takeaway!
I booked Kathmandu on behalf on my house-mate - here are her thoughts...
We stopped by after visiting Wandsworth Cinema & a few drinking holes near-by. Super convenient location for dinner, but really doesn't look too appealing from the outside. Having ordered take-away a number of times, we weren't put off.
All food was full of flavour & non-greasy. Naans were all the more delicious straight from the tandoor. Service good. Not somewhere I'd regularly visit though, as I prefer to take-away.
Kathmandu Valley, Wandsworth
Despite living only 500m away, for almost 10 years, I'd never ventured to Kathmandu Valley. Last night I made the trip and I was v impressed.
As it is a Nepalese 'Indian' it means it has a few more original dishes than your average restaurant and those Nepalese dishes we tried were v good. They also stock Nepalese beer - which was a first and definitely worth trying one or a few bottles. Sevice from staff was also very good. Will go back again.
Kathmandu Valley is the best Indian/Nepalese restaurant that I and my boyfriend have ever been to. The food is packed with flavour and taste and it is not all about curry. They have the best Onion bhaji you can find and the Ghurka Lamb melts in your mouth. We keep coming back over and over again because we know we always get a good meal there.
I've lived around the corner from Kathmandu Valley in Wandsworth for over a year but have never made it there until now but I'll be going back - good service with the unusual touch of a welcome glass of sherry and the food that followed was excellent plus all very good value. It may not look much from the outside but a great find if you venture in.
Kathmandu Valley in Wandsworth is a wonderful Nepalese restaurant. The decor features photographs of Nepal, as well as Nepalese musical instruments and masks. It is not aiming for the super-modern-swanky end of the curry market, but sits comfortably somewhere in the middle. It is welcoming and friendly with great food and a nice atmosphere. Service was friendly and helpful but not hurried. We felt no pressure to finish our meals and move on. We were welcome to stay chatting after our meal.
Once you have tasted this food you won't mind that the decor is a little shabby and the ambience a little lacking. Kathmandu Valley's food is outstanding - the subtle mixture of tastes in all the dishes we ate was extraordinary. A must for any true lover of indian/nepalese food.
Went to Kathmandu Valley on a wednesday night, was very quiet, but the staff were friendly and we enjoyed the complimentary sherry at the beginning. The food was tasty - but we'd recommend going on a Friday or Saturday to get a bit of atmosphere.
We ate at Kathmandu Valley due to good reviews on TT and they did not disappoint! Food was excellent especially the tandoori mixed grill. Service was attentive and even had a nice little shot of sherry as a welcome drink. We will definitely be heading back very soon!
I returned to Kathmandu Vally after only 6 days since my first visit! The service and food again were fantastic. I had a beautiful fish madras, all of my party finished all of their meals, despite over ordering! I will definitely be making this one of my local haunts.
Visit to Kathmandu Valley-
Fantastic evening. Very cosy, typical kitsch curry house, lovely atmosphere. Service was first rate, so attentive. Food fabulous, huge choice-we took a while to decide! I had a beautiful tandoori salmon and some wonderful vegtables, really fresh flavours. Opted for house wine and it was very drinkable.
Over all a really enjoyable evening, will definitely be going back.
Although we booked for 6, 7 of us turned up. We were accommodated without any problem. We all had different starters and main courses along with a numbers of different side dishes, breads and rices. Every dish was excellent and the service was attentive without being over-powering. To drink we had wine and beer. The overall bill was very reasonable - we shall definitely be returning.
Saturday night dinner at Kathmandu Valley was delicious. OUr first time meant that our approach was one of a little trepadation based on the location of this place just after the Wandsworth one-way, not the most glamorous, but inside was clean and although half-full, clientelle were not your typical saturday curry lovers; all quite respectable!. What makes this place different, is the service and quality of food. We tried house specialities and standard indian; all were absolutely fantastic.
Went to Kathmandu Valley with my wife on Valentine's Day for a taste of Nepalese food as none of us had tried that before. Already read good reviews about the restaurant in toptable and to say the least, we weren't disappointed. Very attentive and friendly staff even on a busy packed evening. We were offered free welcome drinks on arrival. The starters were refreshingly nice, particularly the Tandoori Mushroom and the recommended Chicken Bhutuwa was absolutly lovely. Will definitely visit again.
This was our first visit to this restaurant, chosen primarily for proximity above all else. On arrival, we were worried as we were the only diners there. We were greeted with a glass of sherry on arrival (never had that in an Indian restaurant before!) and went on to order starters and mains. The food was excellent in all respects with the staff giving advice on the various dishes. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience.
