Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab - Washington DC
Busy even on a Tuesday night. Wait staff were superb. Atmosphere was comfortable- whether you are wearing a suit, jeans or shorts. Food was delicious- specials were excellent.
The entire experience with Joe's was exceptional. Our waitress Bridget was very attentive and ensure that my guests really enjoyed their experience. It's the attention to detail, that makes this restaurant a gem in the city.
The service was outstanding!!! We received wonderful recommendations. The crabs with the sauce were superb, the bone in ribeye was cooked to perfection with great flavor, accompanied by the Madagascar colossal shrimp. I strongly recommend the experience. Beautiful atmosphere... don’t miss out, you must eat here!
Joe’s is usually spot on but service was way off, slow and inattentive. Food was great but with a slower night should have been taken care of in Joe’s usual style, not this time though.
Joe’s is great. Perfect date place and Arthur our server was just awesome. He really set the mood for a really special midday date. Thanks Joe’s!!
Food was dope. On staff Sommelier was very knowledgeable. Service was good but less than attentive.
King Crab was a bit waterlogged. Madagascar shrimp a bit pasty. Bread was good and so was the oysters Rockefeller.
Went for my wife’s birthday. The food and service were excellent!
Great meal and service. One of DC's best.
I ate at Joe's in Miami several years and being a longtime Florida this brought back great memories of the beautiful collossol stone crab in Florida. The service was exceptional and the awesome bone-in filet was cooked to perfection. It is pricey, but worth every dollar.
Was a little skeptical since we had been to Joe’s in Miami before, this one was way better. Loved the wine. Loved the service. Food was what i expected. Crab cake was delicious. Filet was a little dry, lobster tail was perfect. Drinks (bourbon smash) really tasty too...
My wife had a great time and her food was fantastic.
Great experience for my daughters birthday celebration- first time there and would go back, service was superb!
just had my 70th Birthday 🎁 at Joe’s
The food, service, ambiance and EVERYTHING
was outstanding ✅✅✅✅👋
Busy, friendly and top quality restaurant. Excellent service from reception to bar to table and then throughout the meal. Our waiter Ivan was exceptional, only too happy to explain the menu, particularly in respect of the Stone Crab, bringing out a selection of sizes of crabs claws so I could choose the size and number of claws I would like. If you like crab you have to try these. Followed them with the grilled seafood platter which included jumbo shrimps, lobster tails and scallops, good size portion I couldn’t fit in a dessert ! My husband had the NY Strip and French Fries, the knife went through the steak like a knife through butter and was delicious. Ivan recommended one portion of french fries between the two of us and he was right.
So good we’re going back again on Sunday and we’ve asked to be on one of Ivan’s tables.
This is an outstanding restaurant with great food and service. Our server Javine was excellent. The restaurant was very busy but the service remained excellent throughout. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Joe's is always great. All our entrees were excellent and our server was wonderful. The featured pie, Cherries Jubilee, was delicious.
The food and atmosphere were very good. Place was clean and the décor was outstanding.
It is always an amazing experience when the wait staff can share details regarding the menu and offer excellent suggestions for selections. Beautiful evening from the moment we arrived until we left for the evening.
This was a business dinner that required a private conversation. I asked for a booth, and we were taken to one. The waiter was helpful but not intrusive; the food was very good, and the evening went well. I have been to Joe's many time -- client was from Miami and a first to Joe's. I appreciated the discretion of the staff. Lobster was not Joe's best but the petit filet was excellent and the client very much enjoyed his 4 courses. This remains an energetic, lively restaurant in a great location and perfect for a dinner meeting.
Great food. A little slow on service at lunch because of the crowds.
I was traveling to D.C. and had found this place on google. I’m thinking 4.7 stars, this place has to be amazing. I ordered the rib eye medium well and some potatoes. My food literally came out 5 minutes later. The steak came out undercooked so I send it back and the potatoes were at best warm. Instead of making me a new steak they put my same steak back in the oven and it was of course overly well done and dried out when they bought it back out to me.,Mind you this is a 50.00 steak and this is what you do. So they go back again and the steak comes back out. Still not cooked right and by now I’m over it. The waitress barely came over and the manager never came over to address this issue. I paid and left and trust I will NEVER go back here.
Great food a must when in DC
Great food, service and place - It was a great experience overall!
food presentation was excellent and tasty.
Only issue was the check was presented whilst we were still eating dessert.
Food and service were outstanding. Everything was lovely. Great setting. Great wine list and recommendations. Staff served very well, but were also friendly, welcoming, seemed to enjoy their time.
Overall, I really like Joe’s but they need to get covers over the AC vents so the cold air doesn’t blow directly on you and your food. Of course the food has no chance of being even remotely warm because of the arctic blasts from the AC. PLEASE invest in covers to redirect the air. The vents I am speaking of are in the bar area above the booths that line the wall. I’m sure this is an issue all over but I can only speak to where I have experienced this issue MANY times.
We arrived on Saturday at 11:30 am for my birthday brunch( party of 2). Since Joe's just opened it was fairly empty. Unfortunately we were not greeted warmly, barely at all upon entry but were thankfully shown to our seats immediately. Our waiter came by promptly to introduce himself and gave us the spiel about how Joe's got started as well as the specials. I ordered the Chilean seabass with a side of 4 cheese mac & cheese and my date had the brunch special of the skirt steak. My seabass was pretty good, tender, flaky and a nice taste but the star of my meal was the mac and cheese. Best mac and cheese I have ever tasted. It had a nice crisp to the top and ooey gooey melted cheese mixed in with the pasta shells cooked perfectly. My dates skirt steak was supposed to be prepared medium well but was cooked more along the lines of well done and unfortunately way too salty to really enjoy. He did like the sunny side eggs and potatoe hash that accompanied the meal. To finish our brunch we ended with the brownie sundae which again just didnt wow me. I think if the brownie has been warmed up a bit it would have taken the dessert up to another level. Lastly while our waiter's personality was great I feel like he lacked the sense of urgency and attentiveness you expected in a fine dining restaurant and especially when it's so empty. We were left waiting multiple times (to put in drink orders, to order our meal and for the check at the end). I've been to the Joe's in Chicago and I must say I was more impressed with that location than the DC one. Its unfortunate but I'm not sure I will frequent this particular establishment again.
Steaks are amazing here, sides dishes and cocktails are pretty good as well.
So fresh. Had the herb crusted mahi special. Excellent.
It was really gourmet journey , thanks to mr Warren Macgregor for his beautiful presentation and service , first class restaurant
Excellent service. Delicious food wonderful atmosphere.
Great dinner from beginning to end. Highly recommend the large crab legs!
I expected a lot more from Joe’s. Definitely not the best steak I’ve had, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle still takes the crown. My steak was ordered medium rare and my son’s medium well, but my steak came out almost well done and as I cut into my son’s steak, it was medium rare. Best thing of dinner was the service and shrimp cocktail which my son enjoyed the most.
For the price, I’d probably not go back.
One of the best dinners we have had in years. The Madagascar Prawns were sensational as were the filet and scallops. The best part of the meal was our waiter - Paul. He was so professional and welcoming. He’s so enthusiastic about taking care of diners. We’ll definitely return and always request Paul as our waiter.
Unfortunately, I had a bad experience. I was neglected by my waitress. She was grumpy and not friendly to me. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were two weeks old and microwaved. Very disappointed.
Enjoyed the wonderful hospitality Victor provided my family last night. An outstanding review to his detailed efforts for the perfect night.
The food and atmosphere was amazing. We had a wonderful time!
We requested a booth in the bar. I like the bar atmosphere better than the dining room. My mother loved her oysters. The server was knowledgeable and brought small, salty oysters. The oysters Rockefeller were good, and I was able to order 3 instead of 6. My mother ordered the fried chicken which was fantastic. The skin is very crispy and the chicken is cooked and seasoned all the way through. I had the stuffed shrimp which I liked, but ended up not finishing the shrimp and eating some of the fried chicken. It is really hard to find fried chicken anymore. It is mostly nuggets and tenders. Cooking chicken on the bone makes such a difference in the taste. Joe’s knocked it out of the park. Wines by the glass were good also. We had excellent service. Thank you for honoring our request to sit in the bar area.
