One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the EastEnd, great service and great food. You cant go wrong. The food is very tasty and far better than others out there.
Having just moved to Limehouse and still exploring what the local area has to offer and seeking the best curry, I came across this little diamond right on my doorstep.
Food was absolutely delicious, came out piping hot. I had the traditional jalfarazi and rice, the blend of spices was just right not too hot that you could not taste the food the amount was also substantial. Service was great.
Our meal for two which included alcohol and starters came to £45, which I think is a reasonably priced.
Will definitely be coming back.
I'm generally not a fan of Indian cuisine and have steered clear of Indian establishments for a good 10 years. My partner loves Indian food however so after looking at the reviews I booked a meal for two at this restaurant.
This is an unassuming gem in the heart of East London. The food is very very good with the emphasis being on spices (not too hot mind!) and textures. The menu is extensive but not exhaustive and the staff are friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the experience so much we have been twice in the past few months (and we will be back again).
Very warm and friendly, our table was all ready for us when we arrived. The food was presented really well and it tasted delicious! I had lamb biryani and the lamb melted in your mouth, my son had chicken tikka masala, which was also very nice.
Maybe 5 years since my last visit to this exceptional restaurant and it remains an absolute diamond in the ruff. Quality from the tableware to the food and service. This excellent Indian restaurant exceeds all expectation & I just wished they had the same in Switzerland.
We had dinner at Indiana on Saturday after an ELLSO concert at St Anne’s Church in Limehouse, just round the corner. What a revelation! There were eight of us, four of whom are veggies (who are very particular), and we all came out raving about the food. It was superb, Indian cooking at its best. I can honestly say I have never eaten tastier Indian food. The restaurant is quite small and not decked out in the usual gaudy Indian fashion, but has a nice fresh modern look. Probably not the place for a very special meal, unless of course you want to impress someone who loves good food and doesn’t care about sumptuous surroundings. It is hard to pick out any particular dish for comment as they were all so good, but I started with lamb sheek gilafi, which was mouthwatering. Followed by dum gost which was perfectly cooked in a delicious red spicy sauce. The staff were very helpful and polite and the food was prepared promptly. For a brilliant meal for 8 people, including beers and two bottles of their excellent house red, we paid under £25 per head including service. Definitely on my favourites list, can’t wait to go back.
Very tasty and authentic indian food with good service!
The food was tasty and reasonably priced. No wow factors but may visit again if I am in the area.
Think I've finally found a go-to place to get curry in the area. Really impressed with the food and the presentation. Open Table prices are not the latest, so mains are about £10 (instead of £7) but prices still felt good value.
As usual great food. This time had the sizzling monkfish. A new addition. Not disappointed.
Good food and service.
The staff are very friendly, offering things not from the menu based on our food preferences. The curries are very nice. Will definitely come back.
As usual, the food is good and the service excellent.
It's a good value for money in a residential area
Food was delicious. The staff were very welcoming.
Very tasty food, portions just the right size, staff
Good value on the deal. The chutneys were the only thing that let it down, very sweet and not very authentic but the rest of the food was very nice. Would frequent again.
Nice place to have a good bit of curry. Food was cheap with 50%off drinks not so cheap
We dined on a Saturday evening, there was a warm welcome from the staff and quickly shown to our table. The food was as described on the menu - good portions and well cooked and the quality of the food was good as well. All round a worth while visit to this restaurant - would eat there again
A diamond amongst the stones.
Don't let the look of the area put you off this restaurant. Staff are attentive and friendly but not intrusive. A very relaxed comfortable restaurant with very tasty, classic Indian food.
Will definitely return and probably order from the comfort of my own home.
Exceeded expectations. Delicious food and friendly waiters.
Excellent as usual
Sometimes in Indian restaurants all the dishes sem to taste the same except for the heat. that isn't so of the food in Indiana. Good sizzling dishes. Butter chicken was a bit too rich for my taste. We'll definitely go again and try some different dishes. Excellent value with offer
Once in a while you find an old restaurant that's still streaks ahead of the trendy ones, Indiana is it!
Comfortable setting, in a very odd parade of shops that tipify Tower Hamlets of old.
Personable and friendly service that's genuine rather than forced. The real deal, honest.
Epicly good food in a more traditional southern and mild style but amazingly tasty, simply delicious.
The 25% off food offer made it good value, can't say I fancy paying full given the drinks seemed a little pricy.
Very nice meal service A1
I don't claim to be an expert on Indian food, but if there is better than Indiano, I'd love to try it. Very generous portions of tasty food at a more than reasonable price. Service was a bit slow, but I put that down to the food being cooked from scratch. I will definitely return.
Moved into the area recently and hadn't found a good Indian restaurant yet. I have now. Friendly welcome, great food and good value too. All within walking distance.
A very brief but thoroughly enjoyable meal, mid week. Service was perfect with a very friendly smile to greet us, followed by just enough attention. The food was everything that we'd expected - great content, excellent presentation. Openable's reviews were spot on!
All 3 of us came away nicely full and determined to visit again.
We have been here several times and always have a great meal. The food is delicious, portions generous and very reasonably priced. Much better than the other curry houses in the Limehouse area.
My parents refuse to eat anywhere else when they visit me in London! Very tasty food, friendly and attentive waiters, fantastic value with the 50% off deal.
Nice food, nice environment, nice service and ofc nice value with 50% discount
Me and my boyfriend visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening. Was greated by very warm and welcoming staff. Beautifully decorated inside..
The food was fantastic, piping hot and full of flavour!
Great value for money will come back here 100%
The only disappointment was the extra charge they added to the bill when we ordered poppadoms, I have been to many India restaurants and have never come across this extra charge for the salad which comes with poppadoms. There was no mention of this charge on the website nor the menu. Not Happy! :-(
Stay well clear! This is a shoddy attempt to offer Indian cuisine with a twist but the execution is extremely poor.
The service was poor, the flavours were all wrong and it wasn't good value for money (despite the 50% off deal).
You've been warned!
If you are looking for an indian restaurant where you will recognise the menu and enjoy what you have ordered then you can't go wrong here. Good for meeting up with friends who enjoy spicy food. The service was good, the food well cooked and the staff very pleasant.
The food is very good, the presentation is also nice and the staff friendly. It has a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. A bit disappointed that when using the 50% off food offer a 12,5% service charge is added to the bill and before the discount is applied so not really 50% off.
This restaurant is an absolute gem and very good value - a really super meal!
Excellent food, service and ambience. A lovely little restaurant.
Excellent little indian restaurant in Limehouse. Highly recommend the Duck Special on the Main.
Great food, lovely service, decent deals, never disappointed.
Portions were the right size, the waiter was brilliant at recommending suitable dishes for each of the party and the value was outstanding. The only thing that slightly let it down was we were the only party in the restaurant at one point so it lacked a bit of ambience (thursday early evening)
