Herb & Wood
Had an excellent dinner , but the noise level was loud. All in all though I would go back!
Amazing food, our order came out quickly!
First time here, great food and service. Relaxed atmosphere.
Celebrating with friends. Monique was awesome. She was helpful with food suggestions without overtly trying to up-charge. Very personable. She helped make the evening enjoyable, along with great atmosphere and outstanding food.
Food was amazing. Probably best venison I’ve had. Tasted other dishes and they were also great.
Looking forward to going back.
We went to brunch for my husband's birthday and have a lovely meal - very comfortable. Great service. Cool vibe. Will definitely be back. Loved the storefront option and will likely do a drop-in when we're not up for a sit down meal. The English muffins made on site were delicious!
The service staff was amazing. So many forks and spoons. Unfortunately, the venue was too loud to hear my dining partner throughout the entire night, and my order was sometimes misunderstood because I could not be heard. The food was decadent, but overpriced. There was something just a tiny bit off about each dish, besides that very good. Great cocktails, but the recipes were not consistent if you got two of the same one. Mocktails were a fantastic idea, but if I wanted super sweet soda I would have just ordered a coke. Amazing bday surprise though!
Beautiful restaurant and phenomenal service. Everything we had was beyond delicious! And great wine!
Amazing, creative food, and excellent drink, service, and atmosphere. Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in San Diego.
Wow, this place was amazing. I'm so glad that I went. The food was phenomenal, as were the cocktails! There was not a single disappointing moment in my dinner.
Un cabron insulto a mi esposa
Had never been to Herb and Wood before and we were all impressed. We took a couple visiting from Texas and they loved it too. Food was fabulous and innovative without being weird. Tasty from apps to main course to desert. Atmosphere is cool-in what was one an airplane hanger I believe. Aesthetics are great, though a tad noisy. Service was impressive!
Sat on the green house side of the restaurant and it felt like misters were on for half the meal. Very odd for be eating and getting wet at the same time. Also, 90% sure that they served us decaf expresso. Very disappointing.
Excellent food! Great service and recommendations. Trusted our server Kendall, her suggestions did not disappoint. The best anniversary dinner we have had. The previous high mark for our dinners out was another Brian Malarkey establishment. We had the Prime New York and Gnocchi with Oxtail (I never thought I would like horseradish on my food - thanks again Kendall). We finished with the Baked Alaska and an anniversary treat. Thanks to all the staff for a great night.
Excellent food. Our server Jeremy was fantastic. Definitely would come back next time we are in town.
Every single diah from tbe flatbread to to roasted carrots, venison dezsertz werte so excelleent. We are picky food snobs and all 3 of us loved our meal. Creative menu and top notch service. Absolututly delighted.
Herb & Wood continues to be my new favorite brunch spot. The food is mouth watering and never disappoints. Service is attentive and the decor ties it all together to create a one of a kind experience.
Excellent place and the food is really worth it. The ambiance was one of the best thins about this place
Excellent service and food! Creative and delicious. One of my favorite restaurants when visiting San Diego.
All of the food was outstanding and well worth the splurge. Extremely generous portions. Didn't care for our server. Nothing she said seemed authentic.
If you want amazing drinks, even better food, top of the line staff, and amazing food this is the place for you. Be prepared to spend your money but you won’t be disappointed. I had the center cut fillet with the crispy potato, and a really good Malbec from Argentina. The fillet was the best I’ve ever had so it was well worth the price. We will definitely be back again.
I was impressed with everything i had!
We were celebrating our anniversary. Special thanks to Brian Lee and Xander who made it wonderful experience!
We were a little early for first seating and were directed to the bar area. The bar had a small but loud group. Seating was a bit cramped at the end of long quarter round bench. We awaited the pretentiousness. Ine of the few times that it did not arrive. We had a very engaging and accommodating waiter. The food was excellent. This appears to be in a former but repurposed warehouse. If we visit San Diego again, we will be back.
Most delicious food in San Diego! Exquisite veggie and seafood dishes and dessert.
I used OpenTable to make a hard-to-get reservation; it was quick and easy as long as you do it ahead of time. I wrote that it was anniversary and it was quickly noted by the waitstaff.
We arrived 30 minutes early and were quickly seated. The decor is beautiful pale blues with lots of greenery. We ate in the atrium and although it was very cloudy we were kept nice and toasty with patio heaters. The food was superb and prompt. The waitstaff were super attentive without being obtrusive. No wonder this place is always busy. I would come back again!
Great spot- loved the ambiance and the aesthetic. The branzino, drinks and dessert were spectacular!
Kendall was amazing!
absolutely amazing experience! had the cauliflower and summer squash to start, both of which were amazing, and the venison, sea scallops, and pork for entrees! no complaints whatsoever, absolutely outstanding flavor combinations. The waitress was super helpful, especially in her recommendations and descriptions of the dishes! Ended the evening with the PB&C dessert, which was pretty good but VERY rich. Barely finished it between the 3 of us. Overall we will be returning to this fabulous place!
Very nice inside w the decor and very open with tall ceilings. We went for a brunch with another couple. I had the eggs Benedict and it was great! Hubby had carnitas and he loved it! Service was ok. I would def go back!
Beautiful restaurant. Food was splendid. They were really busy so the reservations were a great idea. Will be back!
Great place for group brunches!
Had an amazing brunch for our first time at herb and wood. The service and food were both outstanding. Had the Dutch baby soufflé pancake and it was amazing! This restaurant has a great vibe...we will definitely be back to try their dinner menu!
Delicious eats. Great atmosphere. Excellent service. Beautiful people.
We’ve been wanting to check out Brian Malarkey’s restaurant in San Diego after watching a million seasons of Guy's Grocery Games with him and his zany gastronomical creativity in it. The entire meal was incredible, the flavor profiles were on point in every bite, and then we were lucky enough to be one of the only tables he stopped and talked with for 10 minutes and asked if we wanted a photo. Such a great night to geek out as foodies!
I keep going back to Herb and Wood and it knocks it out of the park every time. Not being disappointed is an absolute thrill !!! Thank you Brian M !
This is the best restaurant inSan Diego in my opinion.
This is a Beautiful restaurant but was disappointed in my dinner. I ordered the Bucatini and it came out beyond al dente. The waiter did have it remade. The flavor was okay. But my husband had finished his dinner by the time my remade dinner arrived. No compensation was offered. Won’t return.
Expensive but the food was deff worth the experince. Had the iberico pork. Would eat again.
My dining experience at Herb & Wood was excellent! Everything was perfect. The design of the restaurant was beautiful. The food was delicious! The service was wonderful. I would recommend highly.
Herb and Wood is one of my favorite go to restaurants when traveling to San Diego on business. As always, great food, great service, great ambiance.
