Supervised kids room. The best. View was great. Definitely will return if ever in Cancun again
Fresh shucked oysters super fishy tasting didnt seem fresh - caesar prepared table side romaine lettuce not crisp and cold limp- alaskan king crab legs for 50$ grilled dry
Meat wicked disappointing- we dont mind spending the money but it should be way more satisfying and succulent- my
Husband had two
Shrimp added to his filet mignon nothing special at all
We were staying across the street at the JW Marriott and decided to venture over to Fred's for dinner for our last night in Cancun. The ambiance here is lovely. We sat outside in the jungle-esque atmosphere with a cool breeze. My only complaint would be I don't think they have enough serves for the outside area. There were large parties all around us and we were there for 2 hours but only had an appetizer, entree and 1 drink each. I would still return because the food was all delicious as were the drinks.
Nice restaurant. Service and food very good. Would go back anytime
Amazing restaurant!!! Amazing food!!! Amazing service!!! AMAZING VIEWS!!! We LOVED this place!!! Ate there 3 nights during our week stay:-) The sunsets are spectacular!!!
Good food and service. Not a meat eaters parasldise. Limited menu unless you like seafood.
The people are great, service is fantastic.
Bruno was our waiter and he was awesome! We went back a second time just to see him! My favorite restaurant while we were in Cancun!
Every time we go we have the most friendly service, delicious food, and so much fun! This is our 3rd year in a row dining here at spring break with our family (something on the menu for everyone). Always a highlight!
We were looking forward to our return this year. I was disappointed that they changed some of the menu items. No onion soup was my favorite. Being from New England, I was looking forward to raw clams. They had huge claims which were rubbery Love to eat little neck clams. One more thing, not there fault a large group of parents and children were in the area next to us Very Loud. We will return but with these things in mind. Very good service from the staff.
Despite advance reservation several days ahead of time, we we shown to a table right by the restrooms and kitchen doorways. We asked to be relocated, and after a few disappointing tables, we finally were seated at a nicer area. The service was a bit confused for a bit, but ended up fine. Our meals ranged from very good (seafood with rice) to disappointing (dried out coconut shrimp). We liked it a lot more last year.
Dinner started great. We were seated at an amazing table and the appetizers were excellent. Then our dinner experience went downhill quickly. We ordered Caesar salad to be prepared table side. The ingredients sat by our table for almost 15 minutes before it was prepared. (They finally made it as our main dishes were served.) 4 of our 7 meals came to our table COLD. They did replace them (it took another 15 ministries to prepare). 3 from our party ordered the BBQ Prawns. The menu stated it was 9.6 ounces. None of the people that ordered the prawns were able to find more than a small forkful of prawn meat in each of the three prawns served. The meal was almost $26 —with no sides. We were literally starving when the meal was over. I ordered the scallops. It was good but literally had 6 very small
Scallops in the entire dish. Disappointing and too expensive. We came back to our hotel and got pizza.
Atmosphere is great. Food is great. Value is actually pretty good.
Wait staff was a challenge.
We were asked what kind of water we wanted, and we said we just want tap water. Minutes later, the waiter appeared and wordlessly opened and poured a bottle of Fiji. We refused it and asked that he take it away. (This is just really common throughout the hotel zone. Hey, Cancun restaurants: your lovely city deserves better than this manipulative practice!)
Clam chowder is described on the menu as having a "broth"... normally a clam chowder would have a cream or tomato base, and I'm intrigued by any clam chowder that isn't cream based. I asked server if it was a cream or tomato base, he looked at the menu and said it was a broth. When it arrived, it's apparent it's a heavy cream-based soup. "Yes, it has a cream base". They took it back.
Asked for tuna poke bowl with no sauce. Entree arrived with a significant amount of sauce. Was better to go ahead with the disappointing meal than interrupt dinner with the rest of my party.
So, based on these three experiences I had at this one seating, I really felt the wait staff weren't properly trained to be attentive to the customer.
We had been 2 years ago and was fantastic
The raw fish smelled bad this time
Service was awful
Food was way too salty
Great night at Freds! Exactly what I was looking for: ambiance, food, drinks, service!
Wonderful dining while watching the sun set. Excellent drinks, good wine list. Ceviche was stellar, filleted grouper was cooked perfectly. Attentive staff just made the evening complete. We will be back.
This was a first time visiting Fred's House. We were immediately escorted to a perfect dock side table. Both the manager and waiter welcomed us. The food was wonderful with fresh fish and seafood. Wonderful night having a great meal and watching the moon set over the lagoon.
Gorgeous setting! Outstanding food!
Awesome sunset view!
Moms 69th birthday
Oh my god one of our best dinners in Cancun so much so that for the last night we went back to enjoy this restaurant very much recommend it
Food was amazing, wait staff was friendly and the service was great. Whether you have the fancy coconut shrimp or a fish taco every bite will bring a smile to your face. Highly recommend this place
Service needs some attention. They add tip to the bill automatically so nobody cares if you are sitting with an empty glass of water.
One of our favorite places in Cancun. Great atmosphere, great service, great food.
Once again, great service , food, water view and atmosphere!! Awesome Job Guys!!
great dinner, excellent service. nice nice touch for the birthdays boys at the table . very good value would send anyone with a great reccommendation
Food and service were excellent! We will recommend this restaurant and will return when we come back to Cancun!
A favorite stop in Cancun. Items not to miss: crispy octopus, octopus with bone marrow, grilled local lobster (especially the au gratin style), and the apple pizza for dessert.
Service is seamless. Every visit here invites another.
Initially we were very impressed with the ambiance but was disappointed with the service and lack of attention from our wait staff. However the manager went up and beyond to make sure the rest of our evening we were well taken care of. Dispite the lack of service that you would expect from this level of restaurant the food quality, taste and portions were amazing. Each dish we ordered was better and better. You could taste the freshness of the fish, and all the ingredients. There wasn't a dish we didn't like. As for dessert definitely the baked Alaskan is a must. Looking forward to going back soon.
Food and service our great. Fred’s still is a fine dining establishment for food quality, service and prices. However, they apparently decided they are not a fine dining restaurant anymore. They kept the food, prices, and service, but turned it into a sports bar with a TV screen that covers the wall of the bar and is very intrusive. Smaller TVs with sports all over the inside with several outside as well.
This way to expensive and formal for a casual sports bar and it failed at fine dining badly with all the distracting TVs. They need to figure out what they are soon. I liked the old Fred’s but would not go back to this again.
Also - do NOT sit in one of the new chairs with the high curved back. You will regret it the next day - very uncomfortable..
Excellent food and a beautiful atmosphere! The grilled lobster was amazing!
Friendly service but food wasn’t served hot. Asst waiter brought food out but wasn’t served until the Waiter was available to serve it to us. Long wait in between course. Inappropriate loud music in the serene garden setting
Complimentary dessert for our anniversary was terrific.
We have been there each year but will not be back
Our waiter seemed overwhelmed by the amount of tables he was taking care of. Which actually were No more than 5.
On the other hand, We received pretty good service from Christian, whose supposed to help the main waiter.
Risotto was superb!!
We returned to Fred’s for the second time in one week, and again, the food was outstanding, the service was second to none, and the ambiance was wonderful. A great evening at a fantastic restaurant!
The service was absolutely outstanding!!! However, I expected more of the food. We ordered a platter for $1200 and the lobster came in burned and I couldn’t even taste it.
Excelente servicio y la comida como siempre excelente
Amzing food and experience. It was our second time in Fred’s. Service was always great. We had tequila shots on house with their manager Dino Valencia. He remembered us from year ago , and that time still he welcomed us with free samples of Tequila. Thanks a lot , we are coming back soon.
We visited Fred's on our annual visit to Cancun. We chose outside seating and the weather was perfect for it. The staff makes a great production of providing complimentary 'gifts from the chef' and they are worthy of complements. We ordered 1 entree and 1 salad and were well satisfied. We had a delightful time with Christopher the manager. It says something when we booked Fred's for a 2nd dinner before leaving Cancun. We'll visit the restaurant again next March.
Every aspect of Fred’s was absolutely outstanding. The manager and staff could not have been more welcoming or friendly, and the service was first-rate. Our table on the outside deck provided us with the ambiance we wanted for a quiet, romantic evening. Beyond the great atmosphere, our meals were excellent. A wonderful experience overall!
Poor service. Place was half empty and still didn’t see anyone for twenty minutes at a time. Brought our food out piece meal and forgot two sides. Told manager. Didn’t seem to care. Can’t believe this is the same group that owns Harry’s. Need to clean house
Delicious fresh seafood. Be sure to get an outdoor table, weather permitting.
