Very fun experience! Our waiter was friendly and very helpful when questions were asked. Speed of service was as expected for a Friday night. Would definitely go back in the future.

Food was good as always (Shepherds Pie is our favorite on the menu). Loved the live music! Fun environment and a nice setting. Only downfall was that the drinks are VERY expensive. Compounding the high price, I was charged for the absolute top shelf bourbon when I had ordered a very moderate level choice. They could not correct the error, so we were given a small cash refund. Still came to a far overpriced per drink. Be sure to check on your tab. Otherwise, a great place.

Stuffed acorn squash was outstanding. The apple spinach salad was also delicious. The server was sweet and split it in two so my parents could share easily. Very nice dinner.

Friendly attentive service. The Irish duo was lively and very entertaining. The fish and chips and bangers and mash rivaled any Irish pub food I've had in Ireland. Ample portions. Would definitely return for other options.

Food and service was very good. We eat on the deck outside, our server, Liz P was very pleasant and efficient. Definitely we will come back to this place!

Cider Steamed mussels were large, tender and delicious. Fish and chips plate came with 4 pieces of cod. All perfectly prepared. Draft pear cider and real draft root beer were a treat.

We sat on the deck overlooking a nice yard area surrounded by trees. Our service was top notch and the food over the top good. The chowder soothed our souls and the burger introduced us to wonderful flavor and a perfectly cooked excellent burger. There was an Irish band playing inside that was very good as well. I wonderful kickoff to our weekend in Galena.

We recently visited Frank O'Dowd's Irish Pub and Grill in Galena and had a wonderful experience. The service was outstanding – the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The food and drinks were excellent. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared, and the drinks menu had a great selection. We were pleasantly surprised to find there was live music during our visit. Despite having a couple of people in our group with hearing sensitivities, the volume was manageable since we were seated towards the back of the building. It allowed us to enjoy the ambiance without feeling overwhelmed. We mentioned in our booking that we were celebrating a birthday, but it didn’t seem to make any noticeable difference during our visit. This didn’t detract from our overall positive experience, though. Overall, we had a great time at Frank O'Dowd's Irish Pub and Grill and would definitely recommend it to others looking for good food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere.
