El Filomena es perfecto para un almuerzo de negocios, pero también para una elegante cena a la luz de las velas.
Everything was perfect as always.
The food was amazing! The service was a little slow and my drink was never refilled. Our table was really close to the one next to us so it was hard to get up from the table or in to sit.
We dined at Filomena Ristorante for our "Galentine's Day" Dinner this past Saturday. The Staff was very kind and accommodating. The dessert displays had our mouths watering and our meals were heaven on earth.
It has been 15 years since I have been to Filomena’s and it was as good and romantic as I remember. 1st Time was back in 1984 when I was a college puke and had no money, we would go there for their lasagna special $4 with all the bread you could eat. The best.
Today, it is fantastic, we ordered the fried lobster tail appetizer - so good and we both ordered an entree - delicious but we could have easily shared an entree. We had to get a dessert and the pistachio chocolate mousse cake was so good.
It’s busy, its friendly and it’s loud like a great Italian restaurant is supposed to be and we are going back.
Best Italian food I’ve had. Fresh! Fresh! A little on the pricey side...I’ve seen bigger portions at Carmine’s for roughly the same price but here, you’re paying for quality and authenticity. Will be back again!
The food was excellent as it has been every time we have been there.
It was my firs time at the restaurant. The food was amazing. Looking forward to going back soon.
Beautiful place with outstanding food. Very extensive wine menu!
Wonderful service, even on Valentines Day, one of the busiest days of the year.
Always a great time here food is amazing and the decor is over the top highly recommend
I took my 11 year old daughter to Filomena for Valentines Day. As usual, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was great!
Excellent service.. Veto's the best!! Food was OUTSTANDING!!
My favorite restaurant!
We love this place and come here quite often. The food is great, best pasta in the DMV area.
The food is always amazing! Friendly staff, and fun environment!
It’s the best authentic Italian restaurant in the tri-state area. Rich in heritage and culture. Only the best homemade pasta served and very affordable. Definitely will return again because it’s my wife’s favorite place to eat Italian food.
We went for lunch on Valentine's Day. It was wonderfully decorated. We got the lunch 3 course menu. The food was delicious. The caprese salad was amazing - no idea what kind of balsamic they use but it's delicious. The portions were generous, the glasses of wine we got were quite tasty and paired well with the food. The tres leche cake at the end was perfect.
This will definitely become a regular place for us.
Great as always!
Delicious authentic food, HUGE portions, and a nice surprise aperitif at the end. They also over decorate (in a fun way) for every holiday and season.
The BEST!!! An absolute must stop if you’re craving some Italian!!
Rava our server was exceptional!
I love the food, it was really tasty. The service is great, always caring and quick. However, it was so crowded 🤷🏻♀️ make sure you get a table close to a wall.
The restaurant was decorated for Valentines Day. It was very nice. Reservation for 6PM and was seated immediately.
The menu had choices for all palates. The service was wonderful.
Ordered risotto with lobster and shrimp. Rigatoni with eggplant. The food was outstanding.Portions were huge.
Highly recommend this place. Reservation a must.
Sorry the photos are dark.
Great food. We love the place. First time there for lunch.
A true gem in Washington DC. One of my go to favorites when I want to get away from the standard DC fare. Not only is the food great, the service is outstanding and the staff always makes me feel like family. You can never go wrong by selecting Filomena for a family or business dinner. A special shout out to waiters Tony and Franco for their professional and friendly service.
Have heard great things and our first time did not disappoint! 10/10
We celebrated my son and daughter, and everything was perfect. The table service was impeccable. The food was phenomenal—raviolis, burrata, the sausages, eggplant lasagna, calamari, the bread and oil...and truffle cake. Our family had an amazing time!
Bring your appetite to this dark, romantic basement full of grandma's Italian cooking. From bread to dessert, Filomena does not disappoint. We snatched up the only available reservation at 10:15 and were shocked to walk into a room FULL of people waiting for their reservations. The calamari was tender and the "Sunday sauce" was absolutely spectacular. For entrees, we had the veal marsala with rigatoni and Ravioli la chiccheri(no, that is not how it was spelled). Both dishes were so darn delicious. The ravioli were pillows filled with ooooey gooooey cheese with perfectly cooked scallops and shrimp. I'm lactose intolerant, but I'll deal with the pain. Desserts were bug and bold and we took several home
Absolutely delicious!!! High Italian food standards and this met and exceeded all expectations! Definitely hard to get a reservation so make it far in advance! The place is decorated to the nines with every holiday! We were there around Valentine's day so it was a sea of red. I felt like I was in my Grandmother's house with the gaudy decorations and I loved every bit of it. Great service, a little loud with the tables close together. Pricey, but large, delicious portions with everyone taking home leftovers. Will definitely go back the next time I'm in the area because I wanted to try 10 different things on the menu. Everything from the oil dipping for bread, to apps, entree, and dessert were delicious!
I mentioned before that I was a long time patron and the “Home” feeling wasn’t there anymore. This past Saturday was much better. Close to the I'm use to.

This reservation was for 3 people for a 45th birthday celebration. Our reservation was made at the last minute because we were picking my sister up from dive practice and we had to change venues. In the comments, the information "Mom's 45th Birthday!" was clearly written. And the occasion was checked off as "Birthday".
All around us the waiters were loudly singing Happy Birthday to various tables - at least 6 times, I would say. We kept expecting our table to be next. We were literally the last table to leave the restaurant and there was never any singing, no mention of "Happy Birthday", nothing.
You would think that Filomena's, using Open Table and all, would be well aware of the note on the reservation. And, after a Mom and two children come in and spend $200 (no alcohol) and the Mom is dressed up and they're taking all sorts of photos....someone might have asked if there was a special occasion. But no. We left with no Happy Birthday recognition....nothing.
My Mom is divorced and this was our chance to take her out. She isn't very happy this year because of a bunch of things. But this would have brightened her day. But Filomena's dropped the ball on the celebration. It is not our job to remind you when you have a computer system in front of you to do so. So....thanks. Guess I'll make her brownies tonight - shove a candle in it - and we'll sing her Happy Birthday a day late.
Wonderful as always. We go every time we are in Washington. Its delicious food, great service and such a fun atmosphere. The portions are huge so be ready for that but you'll wish you had unlimited capacity to eat! We love it.
This is classic Italian at its finest. The menu is fantastic and the portions are large. SErvice is top notch professional. The seasonal decor is over the top...like a Disney production!
Gotta go...it's one of a kind!
Such an amazing experience. The food was unreal with homemade pasta (by Pasta Mama, who you can actually say hi to!). Our waiter was so nice and knowledgeable. The ambiance was supremely romantic, decorated for Valentine’s Day. Will recommend this as a place not to miss when in D.C!
Great food, not great experience
Always great food and service
