El Filomena es perfecto para un almuerzo de negocios, pero también para una elegante cena a la luz de las velas.
It was amazing, the food is authentic Italian food with generous portions, the ambiance is very cozy and warm and the service was perfect. Overall we had a great time!
Great food, decent price, great portions.. service slightly slow but not too bad. Was a bit noisy do to close table placement and full capacity..
Had a date for two at this lovely classic Italian restaurant. Very busy on Saturday nights, but the food is always amazing. Be prepared for LARGE portions! Inside is pretty loud and it took about 15 minutes after our reservation for us to be seated but when the food, wine, and ambiance all come together as good as Filomena does it, you don't complain. Overall it was a lovely evening. I'm very much into red wine and Filomena has great selections at reasonable prices. Also you can literally eat for two days with the amount of food they give you. If I could give 4.5 stars I would just based on the noise level but I'm comfortable rounding the 4.5 up to a 5. Can't wait to go back
Some of the best Italian food in DC. Service is excellent. Food is even better. Always crowded and very loud but a great place to have some great food in a cool atmosphere. Yes it is pricey.
One of my favorite restaurants. It is truly a magical dining experience. Decor is gorgeous. Food and staff outstanding!
Food and service were wonderful. Waiter was very friendly and accommodating.
Delicious Italian food! Best in the DMV! I always entertain visiting family and friends here, and it never fails to impress!
I am a regular to your restaurant and I try to bring new people all the time. I almost wonder if the menu choices should be expanded by offering half portions for a reduced price? There is nothing I have had that isn’t perfect in many ways. The only challenge is the every time there is mega leftovers!
One of the best restaurant experiences my fiance and I have had. Food was even better!!!
Quality Italian food. Service was phenomenal, but restaurant was extremely loud making casual conversation difficult. Large portions, so lots to take home.
Massive portions-so don’t have a starter unless you’re prepared to box up some of your main and take it home with you (which we could t as staying in a hotel)
Tourist Trap - gloopy food - stuffy staff - tacky decor - zero privacy
The best part about this restaurant is the service; the wait staff was exceptional. The food is good (meatballs and veal in particular) but the meals are enormous and I can't see paying $35 for a pasta entree that will literally make two take-home meals for me to finish. Our reservation was for 8p but we weren't called until 8:16p so that was a bit unexpected. The space around all the table is tight and it's pretty loud.
This restaurant has excellent food, large portions are a bit on the heavy side, so go hungry. I give less than 5 stars because the service can feel rushed. Nevertheless, certainly a restaurant I frequent whenever I am in DC.
Excellent food and service was fantastic as well. Ask for Peter he’s extremely helpful navigating the menu and knows the wine selection! Thanks again
Food was amazing! Very crowded and the tables were very close.
Love it! We enjoyed every dish we had & since portions were so plentiful, we were too full — but made sure to take desserts to go! We definitely can’t wait to return when we next make another trip to Washington, DC!
Fast seating, awesome food and the most attentive service anywhere.
They really know how to treat you well and I cant think of a place where the food is better.
Great food & service
Service was amazing and food was excellent!
Everything was delicious and the service as excellent!
Absolutely fabulous on every level ❤️ Our server was so great in guiding us to our menu choices. Best ❤️
Food was very fresh and delicious. Best Italian food we've had in DC. Definitely recommend.
Food was awesome, had to wait for a check, prices were good. Portions were huge. The bread was delicious as was the ravioli & meatball entree.
Noisy, tired, overpriced tourist destination. Gnocchi with broccoli was bland and swimming in a gelatinous cream sauce. Salad bar was totally unappetizing. Not on the repeat list.
Everything was delicious!!
They not have brunch that is a mistake from open table .
Amazing taste! The best lobster pasta that i ever try!
The food, from the warm breads to the main course, was delicious! It was very noisy making conversation difficult.
the food is amazing and portions are huge. The price is on the higher end but they use quality ingredients. Its super busy all the time and tables are crammed next to each other. had a 9 PM reservation but they were able to get us in 20 minutes earlier.
We went the first time a couple month’s ago during restaurant week and we didn’t think it was so good, we gave them the benefit of the doubt. So we decided to go back, but unfortunately I feel it’s quantity not quantity. It’s a shame because I thought I was missing out due to the crowds but I think it’s expensive and not worth it to me. Sorry I did try twice. :(
This restaurant is old school Italian restaurant. It is like walking into an Italian restaurant 50 years ago, but in a good way (friendly, open and welcoming). Great food, great wine and great service. Our waiter, Peter, was funny, nice and very attentive, even though the restaurant was packed my wife and I felt his service was outstanding. His recommendations were right on target and there was no upselling on his part. Everything was perfect from the appetizer (fried Mozzarella) to the main course (Rigatoni, with the Sunday sauce and meatballs) to the dessert (homemade strawberry cheesecake). Everything was fresh and homemade. The manager stopped by a number of times and he was very friendly and helpful. This is the best Italian restaurant in the city.
Even 20 yrs later, FR doesn’t disappoint. Will be back soon from Chitown!!
We always have fabulous meals at Filomenas. Large delicious portions with lots to take home and enjoy as leftovers. Desserts (cheesecake!) are amazing too. My only complaint this last time we were there, was the tremendous overcrowding and noise level. There was literally no space between our table and the table next to us which made any kind of private conversation difficult. I know this restaurant is popular, but I wish they would limit their reservations so the atmosphere could be more enjoyable.
The food here was amazing and the service was some of the best. I would definitely come back here, as well as recommend Filomena to friends, family and co-workers.
I made a reservation a week in advance for my daughter’s 10th birthday. She loves Italian food and many people recommended I take her there. I took her, her friend, my youngest daughter and mom for dinner. We showed up 5 mins before our reservation and they didn’t seat us until 30 mins later. We were hungry, but it wasn’t a big deal, we were excited to be there. As soon as we sat at the table the server came to us and asked for our drink order. Didn’t tell us anything else or ask if we had been there before or if we needed help with the menu. He came back and since it was our first time there we asked if there was a kid’s menu. He immediately got annoyed with our question and stated no. So, we asked if he recommended anything for the kids and he annoyingly stated, either an appetizer or split a meal and walked away. I was furious with his attitude and rudeness. Ok, they don’t have a kids menu, not a problem and I completely understand, but take the time to at least show us where the appetizers were on the menu or suggest what you have seen other families order. I know kids go there because the restaurant was filled with families eating there. I wanted to walk out because he was so incredibly rude, but it was my daughter’s birthday so we stayed. The food was amazing, but the service was awful! I sat by a tray they put in the middle of the floor next to my table where they stacked dirty dishes while I ate. It was awful. I couldn’t even get out of my chair because the tray with so close to my chair if I had moved I would’ve knocked it over. For the price of our meal I would’ve expected better service and more attention to where they stacked dirty dishes. The food was amazing;however, I am not sure if I will go back after that experience.
Delicious food, fantastic service, loved everything about it. The dining room is dark and not easy to navigate because the tables are so close together. The food and service make it worth the squeeze!
First timer here and it met all expectations. Restaurant is a little loud but that’s only because everyone is enjoying themselves. Our server was polite and even though he was busy he was excellent our whole visit. Food came out super fast and was top notch. Don’t forget to try the turtle cheesecake yummm! We will definitely be back.
2nd time at Filomena (I’m from out of town) and I stuffed myself again because everything was SO GOOD. Peter was the best waiter and we particularly loved the baked ravioli appetizer.
A Georgetown Classic, not to be missed!
Make your reservation early or you’ll regret it!
