Food was excellent. Service excellent. Order a bottle of Alvarinho wine at £41. We received a bottle of Vinho Verde which is a cheaper wine that sometimes contains the same grape as a blend. Main difference is Alvarinho is a still more rounded, full-bodied wine. Vigo Verde is light and has a fizz which this had. I questioned this as two different wine as it was sold as Alvarinho not Vinho Verde and got the explanation it contained the same grape. Why would you advertise as one and give another. I lived in Portugal for many years and Vinho Verde much cheaper than the £41 I was charged for Alvarinho. Love the food love the service and ambience. Just as our taste over the wine.

I love eating at the Holcombe. The menu changes very regularly and is always interesting ( and delicious, of course). The value is excellent. It is also nice to eat somewhere with well trained staff so everything runs smoothly.

Super Sunday night roast dinner! Food was excellent and service was exceptional. Would recommend!
