We celebrated my birthday with a starter of clam chowder to share, which may be the best we’ve ever had. We ordered the steelhead and halibut specials, and they were both delicious. The fish was seasoned and cooked to perfection, as was the asparagus. Finished with the pumpkin cheesecake. Everything paired lovely with their warm bread and a bottle of King Estate Pinot Gris. The ambiance is warm, inviting and romantic. This restaurant will be on our regular rotation of dining in Bend.

Wonderful meal, start to finish. A splurge for our anniversary, word of mouth brought us here. I’m usually disappointed with the crab cakes but I keep trying. These were perfect, flavorful, good texture. Braised short ribs and chicken entrees both excellent. Carmel apple bread pudding put us over the top (no raisins!). Excellent service. I was expecting something a little more intimate but overall, no disappointments!

Five stars for Roam! It is one of the few restaurants in Bend that actually takes reservations, and booking through OpenTable was incredibly easy. This visit was extra special because we were taking our new granddaughter, Freya, to her very first restaurant at just six days old. We were seated quickly and comfortably, and our waitress could not have been sweeter. She even gave Freya a stuffed animal, which absolutely melted this proud grandpa’s heart. Freya slept through most of the experience and left us to handle the eating, so I had the elk sausage hash, or whatever delicious masterpiece they call it. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the flavors were outstanding, and the chefs deserve a huge compliment because the food here is consistently exceptional. Do not make the mistake of dismissing Roam as just another hotel restaurant. The service is always excellent, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is wonderful, and the prices are very reasonable. Roam gave our granddaughter a beautiful first dining experience, even if she was limited to the milk. We will definitely be back!
