I have been to this restaurant before and I’ve had good service and a wonderful meal. We went Saturday night on Columbus Day weekend and I believe they were understaffed. It took 50 minutes to get our salad. Our waitress didn’t think to check in with us and let us know that the kitchen was backed up despite walking past us numerous times. We had to track her down and inquire.. Our meal came 20 minutes after that and my chicken was not edible as it was overcooked . We did complain about my meal and the manager comped it . Since I’ve had a good meal there before I might try them again, but only in the middle of the summer when I know they are fully staffed.
My husband and I went here for a "date night" on a Friday, but ended up sitting with friends ~ another couple. We all had lots of fun. The food was very good. I'd say the food was good, but not a great value. I had some seasonal ravioli, as featured on the nightly special menu. The raviolis were delicious, but there were just a few of them on the plate. The total bill was a bit pricier than some other local restaurants, that serve food just as good. But the view/deck is spectacular. We could see Lake Winnipesaukee, from across Route 3. I had one of the BEST drinks I've ever had. A Coconut Cream Martini! Delicious ~ almost like dessert in a glass. This was the first time that any of the four of us had eaten at this restaurant, since it was bought and renovated by the new owners. We all thought it was a very rustic but elegant decor, pleasant overall atmosphere, with very prompt, professional service, and nice wait-staff. We enjoyed ourselves.
The ravioli was so fresh. Great sauces. Very nice atmosphere...lounge was awesome. Great look but not too fancy. Looks better inside than the outside which is deceiving like a seafood restaurant with a lighthouse. Very surprised how nice it was inside. Definitely recommend it. Would be super busy in summer since it’s right on the Weirs beach area. Was busy end of sept., would not attempt it during motorcycle week. Delicious place.
Wonderful waitress, lovely decor, great piccata and other Italian dishes.
Server mollie was great! Kitchen and bar were on the slow end.
sorry but the food was poor! i had ravioli and it was not cook and the filling was not beef. i never send food back but i could not eat it., my husband is a chef and i now good food and that was not. my son had veal with pasta , veal was card board , the cheese was burnt on, not melted, the sauce tasted like beefaroni from a can. you had good bread!
It was a nice place to eat. Good food and service.
Waiter was great. Very attentive. Love coming here.
Food was good, I just thought it was a little expensive.
We were not familiar with this area and just happen to book a reservation at the Faro Italian Grill on Open Table. We were not disappointed. The service was great our server had good recommendations for both food and wine options. There was at least 5 different specials offered in addition to a good size menu. I got the salmon which I loved. My friends got the specials and were very pleased with their meals as well. The portions were generous. The only negative is that we were seated by the door to the outside seating and it was distracting.
A nice place in between upscale and casual. A good fit for the environment. Food was high average. We had more expensive entrees, but other folks seemed to be enjoying the comfort food, pizza, etc.
We loved our experience. The restaurant was understaffed so I would have to give service not adequate.however, our waitress did her best to meet our needs. We could have used another drink check in but had to go for a concert at the Pavillion. Pizza was delicious, had a great salad w spinach strawberries, nice and fresh. Another guest had surf and turf special for $25 and was happy except he needed a side/) and a good review of chicken parm. We would come agaib
We had been meaning to try this place, but usually on a Monday or Tuesday when they are closed! Finally went early on a Friday night and were not disappointed.
Great food! Great staff! We loved the pasta!
Had a wonderful, professional and personable waitress and the Italian food was quite good. However, beware, they are known to just close the doors early if they are not that busy. This happened to us at 6pm one evening in June when three of us were turned away after driving 20 miles for dinner there.
Have been here many times, but this last time the menu choices were not as good as in the past. The general noise level was high. Many at my table had to compete with the restaurant's loudness to carry on a conversation amongst themselves. I understand that the owners will be opening a "scaled down" Faro's Restaurant in the same area. It appears that the scaling down has also occurred at this main site. I am not sure that my family will choose Faros for dining in the future. Maybe outside on the patio and pizza as a food choice is more acceptable for eating at Faros!
Everything was very good! We sat outside with view of the lake. We have been there many times with inconsistent service and overall ratings. However on this occasion everything was great
We love your restaurant. One suggestion is to serve dipping oil instead of the shredded cheese and then you have to make your own.
Great new decor & food was delicious
Fantastic service and meal once again. The happy hour Filet and lobster tail for $25 is worth arriving before 6 pm. Our waitress Molly was superb.
Great as always and Chelsey did an exceptional job.
Very good. Get the lemonchello shrimp
We grabbed dinner here before a concert nearby. Overall, it was a great experience because we were with good friends, sitting outside on a hot summer night. Food was fair though. We had king crab legs which were good, but the rib-eye steak special we ordered was cooked well when we asked for medium rare. Both pasta dishes we ordered were overcooked. Waitress was friendly but service was slow. Dessert was good supposedly from Modern Pastry. Not sure I would go again as we paid a lot for dinner and don't feel like we got our money's worth.
Very service oriented
Simply amazing. Start to finish everything was amazing. Very unique menu choices. Will return next time we are in the area.
Nothing good to say about our meal at Faro, but nothing was really bad either. The waiter came back time and again to tell us what we ordered (that he offered and described) was not available, from wine to entree to dessert. Portions we're small except for the chicken parmigiana which also looked delicious though I didn't have it. Food was fine but nothing special, not worth the price. The best part was dessert which were all good, but no Italian desserts! No tirimisu, no cannoli.... Atmosphere was nice but loud as many restaurants are.
So, nothing bad, but there are better places in the area - I wouldn't recommend it.
the food is always good at Faro and our waiter Robert was excellent , don't let the tents before bike week scare you away. A little disappointed that the eggplant is gone from the menu but the chicken parm was excellent and the calamari was cooked perfect.
I was a little nervous after reading a lot of reviews about slow service. I love Italian food and frequently go to Boston’s North End which, in my opinion, sets the bar pretty high for any local Italian restaurants. Faro was REALLY good! Both my boyfriend (who does not love Italian food) and I loved it!! I found the service to be super friendly and very efficient. The food was delicious and made to order, so fresh! We went at a fairly quiet time so this could account for why we didn’t wait extraordinarily for our food but with food this fresh, I would expect to wait during busy periods. It’s worth it! I do wish that the serving portions were a bit larger given the prices but, again, the quality of the food cannot be beat. It’s only because it was so good that I wished I had more!
We will absolutely visit Faro again, thrilled to have great Italian food so much closer to home!
We have been here two weekends in a row. We had friends up and wanted to bring them here. They loved it. The food is amazing and so are the desserts! It’s so nice to have a great Italian restaurant so close to our home.
We’ll be back soon :-)
The food was great.....The service was great.....The wine was great.
It was a little loud but overall I would definitely recommend it to friends.
We love this restaurant and have been several times for lunch and dinner. This was our first brunch experience and it did not disappoint! Everything was delicious.
Good food with a good location. Great deserts imported from Modern Bakery in Boston's North End. A solid Italian restaurant in the lake region.
One of our favorite regular restaurants. Service is outstanding and the food consistently meets expectations. Normally the food is served quite hot and it’s necessary to wait a few minutes for it to cool but this time it was served at eating temperature but seemed to cool very fast so it was a little cooler than we would like as we reached the end of our serving. But still quite delicious. One of the best restaurants in the Lakes Region, if not the best.
All meals were very good. The seafood special was a good choice however I would have enjoyed it more with less sauce and different pasta. Other than that all was great and our server was excellent.
Here again for a birthday. There is a private chefs table that we enjoyed on this return trip.
Without a doubt the best Italian dining in the lakes region. Shawn our server was great.
We have dined at Faro's several times for dinner, experiencing excellent food and service each time. We decided to try their Sunday Brunch on Easter Sunday. As with their evening fare, the food and service were again excellent. Faro's is our favorite fine dining establishment.
Service was good, but food quality was unimpressive. Veal Saltimbocca dish had only 4 very small pcs. of veal. Appeared to be more of a bar scene than dining. Should have known being located across from Weirs Beach. Most likely will not be back.
This was the second time to Faro for my wife and I, on both occasions the food was amazing. On our first visit we experienced the best service we have ever received. For our second trip, we never received water until asking twice and our bread was delivered just prior to our meal. The waiter seemed to be pre-occupied with socializing and left us to look for assistance when we needed another drink rather than checking on us. The food is worth a return and the first experience we had at Faro will have us try it again, hopefully with better service.
After having had a great previous dining experience for a party of 2, we suggested Faro to family members for large birthday celebration. We made a reservation for 14 only to arrive to a table for 10. The the hostess scrambled around pulling tables from two different directions in order to acoomodate our party. It went downhill from there. Very slow service. Our server was also not experienced enough to handle our size party. The time between courses was long. When I tried to order an appetizer I was asked if I could wait till she was done taking drink orders. She served bread to the table but we were never asked if we wanted more when all the baskets were empty. Appetizers were dropped on the table abruptly . The Brushetta was overly oiled, the bread wasn't even lightly toasted and we received two small pieces for 9$. Other appetizers were ordered but I truthfully don't recall all of them. I did see Calamari served with a very large portion of marinara, excessive really for an appetizer. Once our dinners finally arrived. We were finished before our server reappeared. No second drink order, no follow up on if our meals were to our liking. She did return to refill the water glasses but still no inquiry of how our dinners were just the comment," I guess you enjoyed your meals because your plates are empty"! Very unsatisfactory experience. The food was good but not worth the total experience. The consensus was we would have had a better time at Olive Garden...
