Great food! Consistently perfect, attentive wait staff as well as a neighborhood favorite
Food at Et Voila has gone down hill. We used to love this restaurant, but not after this last visit. Specifically:
No more hunter pate, so my wife ordered the ham spread, which was almost tasteless. Even with some unidentifiable accompaniment, it was bad. Mussels in white wine, garlic and onion were also bland, and the mussels were tough and rubbery. Escargot had flavor, but the toasted bread with them was dripping with oil. Trout was ok, just bland again. Dessert was floating island, a dish of egg whites whipped surrounded by vanilla creme. Would never order this again. One more good place crossed off our list. If this place were anywhere near the Grand Place, it would be shunned.
Et Viola is a wonderful dining experience that creates an exceptional atmosphere through the terrific service and exquisite food.
Great service from start to finish and delicious food, we love Et Voila!
Once again a GREAT location for a fun even though business lunch
Staff is very friendly and helpful as the three of us walked through the menu
Excellent omelettes for two of us and once again a FAB presentation of trout for one colleague
We’ll be back again!
These days over salting food is a no no in any restaurant.
I ordered the market day special, Sole Meuniere which came with spinach.
The spinach was distastefully over salted, practically inedible.
The sole arrived not boned so I requested deboning which was done expertly and promptly at table.
I was tempted to return the spinach for an alternative substitution but decided not to make further fuss as this is a restaurant I enjoy.
My advice here:
While I'm not keen on mussels, if you are, play to their strong suit, mussels!
Friendly staff, attentive service, an enjoyable brunch.
This place wins every time. The best people all around. Best quality food by best chef. Best service and atmosphere. And this time the special tomahawk steak was over the moon perfect. Grass fed beef. Cooked to perfect (which means barely cooked to perfection. Awesome cocktails and wine as well. Go here only if you want a perfect night.
We both had the lobster burgers with a house salad. The burgers were very good. Service was very attentive and helpful.
We sat a few tables away from the bar and there were so many fruit flies/nats flying around the table while we were eating - it was very unpleasant to have to continue to swat them away. Perhaps if the floor was mopped with bleach and everything wiped down clean to eliminate grease and sticky residue- it might help the problem
We sat outside for a 6:30 reservation...
Great service... in fact... flawless service especially since the restaurant was full by 7 pm and the tables continued to fill and turn all evening. We had flus grad terrine, warm tomato soup with olives grilled salmon. There wasn’t a crumb left of anything. For my birthday dessert we ordered opera cake that arrived with a lite candle ( no singing thank goodness) a wonderful and memorable cake... google it and then order it... simply delicious.
Thank you for your comment. We are glad to read that your birthday dinner reached your expectation ! Next time do not hesitate to try our delicious new Miserable cake with its five different Vanilla. I hope to see you really soon ! Sylvain Frances General Manager
Had a few flies flying around during dinner which was a problem. Ordered mussels....way too many onions, not enough garlic & wine. Prices seem to be higher
As always, the food and service were excellent!
Excellent food and wine, as usual. However, the restaurant was completely full (Sunday evening), and the servers were slammed. We had to flag ours down to place order, get check. Not the best experience.
A neighbor raved about this restaurant and I can understand why: Exceptional food and a very interesting menu. The only negative I can say is that the service was a little slow, but we weren't in a hurry.
We had one of the best meals we have ever had in DC. Went for an anniversary dinner. Loved this place! I had the branzino, which was very tasty with its lobster sauce and wonderful pasta. Awesome. My husband had the stew, which was tender and delicious. Soup and dessert were excellent as well. Service was attentive. Really enjoyed the evening.

Food was astonishing. Everything was great. Seven people had a wide variety of appetizers and entrees. All the dishes were outstanding: vegetable Napoleon, French onion soup, sole meunière, beef stew, trout, salmon, lamb pasta.
Thank you for your comment. It's a pleasure to had accommodated your party. Food quality is one of our main concern since the opening ! I hope to see you really soon ! Sylvain Frances
Et Voila is our go-to place for date night. My wife and I probably go once a month and enjoy it every time. It is a fantastic neighborhood place that is crowded but somehow we can (almost) always get a table. Everything is good, but our favorites are the escargot, beef tartare, hanger steak and the mussels (pick anyone of them, you can't go wrong). They pour a nice martini and the service is always welcoming and friendly.
Thank you for your comment. We are glad to read Et Voila DC is your favorite place ! Do not hesitate to come on weekend, we are offering specials in additional of our regular menu ! I hope to see you really soon ! Sylvain Frances General Manager
Wonderful birthday dinner!
We had a wonderful evening celebrating a BIG birthday. The food was well prepared and presented, the service was excellent ... and dessert was delicious. Highly Recommended
This is an exceptional restaurant. We started coming here for special occasions after my daughter returned from study abroad in the Belgian area of eastern France. This day, we sat outside. The weather was lovely, the service and food were excellent. It felt like being back in France.
Thank you for your comment. Authenticity is one of our main concern ! I hope to see you really soon to your Belgian/french favorite in DC Sylvain Frances
The pavlova is to die for!
We had a wonderful meal for our anniversary. Excellent service and fun atmosphere. Thank you for making our anniversary special.
Lovely dinner, interesting menu, good service, overpriced cocktails but interesting combinations. We enjoyed our dinner and both had fish, which was deliciously prepared. We were disappointed that accompaniments to entrees were quite meager. This is a very friendly restaurant and we will return.
Dear Rose, Thank you for your comment. Do not hesitate to call us directly for your next visit Sylvain Frances General Manager
Bartender is the best.Trout was excellent Bar set up works nicely as well...recommend reservations.
My second visit in one month. Consistently good.
Thank you very much for your feedback ! Hope to welcome back soon
Wonderful, as always! Et Voila is one of our favorite restaurants.
The waiter was pushing for $100+ bottles of wine. He was also abnoxious the hanger steaks were melt in your mouth and very, very tender.
Our usual go-to French restaurant was closed so I did a random search. This restaurant will be on our go-to list now! Outstanding food!
Lovely restaurant. Fish is a particular star there. It is a little cozy in terms of seating among tables.
Thank you for you comment ! We will be glad to welcome you black very soon.
one of the excellent chefs in this city. it is always a pleasure to dine there with reasonable prices and good service with very good entrees . the menu items should be more varied.
Et Voila delivered again. Great meal, great atmosphere.
Consistency and attention to details is our main objective ! Thank you for your comment
Food is always good. Best mussels and frites outside of Bruges.Benjanin was a great waiter, offering great wine recommendation
Thank you for your comment ! I am pleased to hear your good experience on Saturday night !
As always, the service was attentive. The mussels were very good, but extremely small...not what we ate used to. The burger was great...as good as any I’ve had.
Have dined there many times, but had a craving for the best burger in DC and Et Voila is the place! Started with goat cheese salad and my partner foie gras. Two Grey Goose martinis to start. Her burger rare, mine medium. Cooked to perfection, caramelized onions, cheese, beef from Lancaster County, PA. Burgers come with salad and fries! Two Grey Goose martinis to complete. Excellent service and price.
Thank you for your comment ! We are glad to read that the quality of the meal exceed your expectations !
Always consistent excellence
Food was just so so.
It is very good as always, the fries used to be more fresh
Especially good on Monday. No charge for BYO
Great food. Great value. Noise level is low. Highly recommend it
Et Voila is our favorite Belgian bistro. The food is usually delicious, well-prepared and presented. Service is very quick. The restaurant is squeezed into a narrow row house -- actually two houses next to one another -- so there isn't a lot of space. Tables are small and conversations are easily overheard. But for us, the proximity and promptness more than outweigh the ambiance.
Thank you very much for your comment ! We look forward to welcome you back
