El Mural de los Poblanos calificaciones y reseñas
The Mural is a jewel of Mexican and Puebla cuisine with an always exiting menu of traditional along with innovative dishes that mix the multicultural traditions of the people who have settled in Puebla over the last 4 centuries. to complement the menu, there is a vast selection of mezcals (at least 75), as well as, an excellent wine list complemented with events that mix great wines with special menus.
the restaurant is set inside a well preserved colonial building in the Center of the City of Puebla with a series of history representing murals (hence its name) that talk of the history of the people of Puebla, the newest one depicting the history of the battle of the 5 de Mayo.
The Mural is a standard place for industry, art, politics and academia to meet with a constant flow of important and interesting people.
It is a must experience that for the occasional visitor to add to the "bucket list" and a place to make a regular stop for those who visit Puebla regularly.
While being served the second dish my wife helped the servant to move things on our table and by mistake touched her mescal glass so it fell and the mescal came on the table.
No initiative was taken by the staff or the manager to help us - discuss who we may get another glass if mescal. Just totally silence. Suddenly the servant gave us another glass of mescal without any comment.
I was then very, very surprised to be billed 2 glasses of mescal in the end. When I argued that my wife just helped the servant I was totally ignored. I payed but .......!
Needless to say I am in Puebla for buiness every week and often bring my Puebla business colleagues to the dinner table.
Thank you and please re-consider your policies when it comes to help a costumer who tried to help a servant.
A highly over-rated restaurant. Service was sketchy to inept (two guests' entrees brought at same time as other two guests' appetizers), food was barely edible, red wine served colder than white wine, and relatively expensive compared to other similar restaurants in Mexico.
Had a great lunch last monday, January 2nd. Reservations are a most. Mexican and "Poblana" cuisine. Had very tasty chalupas, tinga tostadas, lamb pita tacos, filete barroco, chicharrón tacos, delicious sopes. And the five mole degustation plate. All with fresh, hand made tortillas.
Really cold beer.
A must on any trip to Puebla. Too bad chiles en nogada season was over.
Five of us gringos had a great dinner here for our Thanksgiving meal last Thursday. Service was impeccable but unobtrusive, dining room was beautiful, food and drinks were delicious. I had the gustatory sampler of 5 moles over roast turkey (for the Thanksgiving theme) and enjoyed them all. I didn't think the adobo version warranted having 3 peppers hotness rating versus zero hotness for the others--it wasn't that much hotter, so I'd advise not to be too scared off by that if you like a little more heat. Others all enjoyed their meals as well. Thanks!
This restaurant specializes in dishes unique to Puebla. I really enjoyed the chicken enchiladas with 3 moles (I got to choose from 5). The kid's fish fingers were very nice and the chicken consommé that came with the kid's meal was excellent - big chucks of chicken and a bit of rice. Love the restaurant décor and courtyard setting. A great choice.
