Friendly staff and prompt service for good Chinese food. Left alone to have chat and no pressure to leave, thanks
A couple of years ago I would have given this place 5 stars all the way, especially the signature dish/ingredient of pak choi.
We had char siu dishes and salt/chilli chicken plus a side of Pak choi. It was very bland and the same as any other random Chinese. just routine sweet and sour. Pak choi was limp and soggy ( used to be so crunchy) and a very small portion which to be fair was added to when we queried the size although quality was in no way improved. main dishes were served with large amounts of fresh salad leaves?? presumably to make the dish look bigger but cold salad and hot sweet and sour?
Decor, furniture and menus are old tired and grubby. such a shame as in my opinion this was once one of the best Asian fusion restaurants in Glasgow this is a classic case of stagnation and a lack of investment.
We have eaten here several times over the years but we will not return unless there are major improvements.
Lovely place great value for money , me and my 15 year old son frequent the Dragon I when out shopping always have the pre-theatre menu .
very limited lunch menu. not really chinese food. weird mix of scottish/asian ingredients in the same dish.
Reserved a table for two in advance.
Got seated in the quiet corner at the back, which would have been great had the table not been wobbly. (How difficult is it to fix a wonky table???)
Got reseated at another table with a stable table.
My partner liked her sweet chicken dish but I found my beef dish to be just too salty and too much of the wrong sort of flavour.
The vegetable wrap sort of thing we had for starters were quite nice.
This was my second visit and on my previous visit, I had the chicken katsu curry, which again I found it not to my liking.
One positive note about this place is that the food is served promptly, which suggests much of the dishes available on the pre-theatre menu are prepared in advance.
It is ideally situated close to the theatre so it would be a great pre-theatre meal venue but if not for the theatre, I can't think of any reasons to dine here specifically.
Opposite Theatre Royal Glasgow They are well geared up for people going to the theatre particularly on the pre-theatre menu. We arrived at 5.45 and were finished by 6.30 but did had only two courses and did not have coffee We certainly did not feel rushed. We had gone to see a Comedy about a Bank Robber and thought there may have been something happening in the foyer before the start as happened when this company did The Play that Went Wrong. The food at Drogon-I was up to its usual high standard and good value for money.
Never been before so took pot luck. Pre-theatre menu was good value and excellent quality. Staff are first class.
The food is always great and the service is good. The standard of food and service is always the same.
Have been here many times before for a pre theatre meal before a show at the Theatre Royal. Food is always lovely but , on this occasion, the service was poor with quite a few people complaining as they were concerned they wouldn't get to the theatre on time. There seemed to be plenty of serving staff available but I don't think the kitchen could cope so perhaps they should not take so many bookings for the same time slots.
Great choice of restaurant for pre-theatre, service, food all very good.
I would use the restaurant again for any occasion.
Food was nice and tasty. Staff was nice and friendly. Looked clean and toilets where clean to. Would Defo recommend and would go back again. Decor was nice to
Food was good but a little expensive. Ambience noise was very loud due to a party of six next to us. Service could have been better.
we went there for the first time on friday night. staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic. i will
Lovely lunch on special menu - great service and only marked down on ambience because it was so quiet. Shame, more people should try Dragon-i, it's always been great.
Lovely restaurant - the photos on here don’t do it justice.
Great meal - unique menu and excellent service.
The food and service was very good. Having dined there before we were happy to see that the quality of food and the service hadn't changed. The only sour note was that, although I had reserved my table via this website, the Restaurant had not recollection of the booking having been made but we were, nevertheless, given a very good table. We will be back
Lovely pre-theatre dinner - was perfect.
Excellent food and service as always
Very good value for money
Delicious meal and very friendly service. We had a table by the window which was nice. It’s great for a pre-theatre or as just as a lovely meal out.
Delicious pre theatre food. Lovely attentive staff. Will definitely return.
Food was great and time between courses just right. I think the pre theatre menu was good value.
We have often eaten here at peak times but on this occasion although the staff were pleasant the service was extremely slow and we had to request somethings twice. Also the pre theatre meal was not the good value it has been in the past.
Food was delicious and the service was prompt and friendly . 2nd time there and will go back.
Fifth time here and it just keeps getting better. Staff very friendly and the food is amazing
Food fantastic portion size just right andirection price excellent
Will not visit again after 10yrs enjoyment of regular dining here. Menu changed completely using cheaper food, one meal inedible. Thoroughly disappointing. Only paid for wine after complaining which was appropriate response. Please take us off your loyalty scheme.
Friendly staff, excellent service. Great food and a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends.
We went here whilst on business. We ate on a Saturday night, the staff were very friendly and attentative. The surroundings were very nice and clean, bonus to find they did cocktails. The food was fabulous a very nice fusion of dishes, highly recommended.
A really weird place that had very limited options. The food was okay but the place was dead and I would not go back even if someone paid me to.
Always excellent! Menu choice for pre-theatre covers all tastes!
Food very disappointing. Starters were ok...I had the spring-rolls with black pudding and my husband the crab. It was the main that was so much a let down. Battered chicken pieces with potato in a Thai sauce that sadly was inedible. I just couldn't eat it. The prawn sweet and sour was ok but nothing at all special.
The waitress staff were lovely. We didnt pay for the one dish from the main meal.
Was really disappointed as we overlooked a recommendation for another Chinese restaurant to visit this one instead. The meal was on the Saturday night and the place was empty by 9.30.......this is one Chinese to avoid....I am sure there are better choices in Glasgow.
what a great place staff very friendly and helpful service extremely quick and efficient
we go there every time we are in Glasgow
second time eating here while in glasgow won't be the last. wonderful menu fantastic staff and most importantly food was delicious.would not miss a visit here anytime in glasgow.
Fantastic food as usual. Never disappointed. Inexpensive but great quality. Well worth a visit
We had booked this for a special occasion (Fathers day). Families had come from ayr and Perth to meet here and the booking was confirmed. Upon arriving at the address we discovered the place was closed. Not sure if the fault lies with the restaurant or booking operator (Although this is the second time we have had issues with this restaurant) we were left scrambling around Glasgow trying to find a suitable alternative in a busy day at the last minute. Not impressed and will not be entertaining the idea of going here again. Extremely poor experience and a total waste of time and effort.
Consistently good food and service. Excellent staff service
Fantastic food would recommend
ok but far to keen to hurry you along
Dragon-i Hope street Glasgow
We dined from the main menu not the buffet. The food was very good but we felt the menu was a bit limited both on food and wine. It's fine dining Chinese style and the staff were very pleasant but it's not what we really want from a Chinese restaurant.
very busy saturday night with good buzz, staff friendly and attentive, food excellent, tempura vegatables, mussels in blackbean and jasmine duck cooked to perfection
