Amazing food and wonderful friendly service.
We went for Father’s Day Dinner, our waiter was so kind and catered to my 3 small children. Our steaks were prepared exactly as we ordered and the accompaniments were spot on recommendations. I’m from out of town, but will recommend to anyone looking for a great date spot!
This is by far my favorite restaurant in Northern Virginia! Rick Crowe and crew always provide the absolute best food and service available!! Highly recommend!
Loved the Brunch! You should open on Sundays for brunch. We need a good place to enjoy on Sundays!
Told there was no availability, but found many reservations on open table. I was irritated by being turned away, but happy I persisted (through open table) for a table.
Service and food was outstanding. We had Stew for our waiter and he was very attentive. This place is 5 STARS! Cant wait to go back.
Great food. Great service. Awesome atmosphere. Definitely pricey but well worth it. Ill be back and recommend it to everyone.
Great food and service. Had a wonderful experience.
We had an amazing time celebrating our anniversary at DC Prime. Arrived early and had some tasty cocktails and oysters at the bar. Made our way to the table and were presented with a note congratulating us on our anniversary - signed by the owner and chef. Service was incredible and made our night truly memorable, from the Waygu appetizer to the amazing steaks and sides to the key lime pie! Thanks to all that helped make our night so special
Our entire night was fantastic! we went the same night as game 5 of the Stanley Cups so when we got there we asked if there was somewhere quiet. The bar was packed and there was a viewing party outside. We didn't mind, we knew it would be busy, but they accommodated us and sat us away from the excitement.
Our waiter, Andre, was SO fabulous we've requested he be our waiter every time we go (several times a year).
Dinner did not disappoint, as always. We both had French onion soup. The flavor is perfect, the amount of cheese plentiful and gooey. We also ordered, upon recommendation from Andre, the lobster bites. He stated the chunk lobster was lightly breaded and served with grilled pineapple that would be the perfect amount of sweet with a little heat. His description was spot-on, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. For dinner I had the scallops and my husband chose a steak and mashed potatoes. Everything was perfect, the steak was cooked as requested, the scallops were huge and succulent, the flavor of the sauce on the pasta was incredible--not too heavy, very flavorful--and the mix of wild and portabella mushrooms was just right. The pasta was also cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes were incredibly flavorful and smooth. For dessert we opted to share the bread pudding and the crème brulee. Again, perfection. The berries in the bread pudding were a flavorful touch, and the sauce served was the right amount of flavor to offset the heaviness but tastefully done bread pudding.
The service, as I said, was probably the best we've ever had. My husband consistently had refills without request. I tried, again upon recommendation, one of the martinis. The blue cheese stuffed olives were a nice touch to offset the flavor of the martini. We were not rushed at all, and were asked at various times if we were ready for bread, our meal to be served, if we were interested in dessert. Andre was extremely attentive without hovering.
We will continue to patron!
First visit for a birthday dinner. Steaks were seasoned perfectly, cooked as requested, and delicious. A well-appointed dining room and bar, open kitchen, exposed wood and nicely lit. Good cocktails, good wine list, and attentive service. Would definitely go again, but it is a bit expensive.
Great service and the food was fantastic!
Wonderful food, and our waiter was excellent. The service was outstanding.
We celebrated a friend's 40th birthday at DC Prime. Everything we ordered -- large seafood platter, calamari, wedge salad, filet mignon, plus all the sides -- was delicious and cooked perfectly. We all agreed that the seafood and meat was much better than Bourbon Steak in Georgetown. Also, the service was excellent. Can't wait to return!
Dinner was wonderful! Food, drinks, service and ambiance was all wonderful!
As always a great meal! Very relaxing, not hurried. Best place to strike out on a new venture.
seated as a couple on 4 top table, no very romantic, service was spotty, no much attention given, food was just average to below average for the price, steak under cooked with inferior quality, duck was rubbery and had no flavor, have been there before with similar results, did try again hoping experience would be better, very disappointed, will not return.
Was there for the Mother's Day brunch and everything was great. My parents are in their eighties and the staff was incredibly kind and gracious and the food fantastic as always. Better than any other steakhouse in Northern VA and DC.
Terrible start with hostess: 8 PM reservation - at 8:15, she told us it would be 30-40 more minutes. Why take reservations if you take another 55 minutes to seat us (a two-top)? So we decided to get a booth in the bar as we were told they were all first come, first serve (well, except for the booth we selected - that one was "reserved"). BTW - when we left nearly 2 hours later, no one had ever sat in the first booth we chose.
Our servers were great - good recommendations, great service, smooth transition from one to another. Food was great. Love the filet trio! It is a pricey meal, but worth it IF they straighten out their seating/hostess situation. It took a great effort by waiters and kitchen to rescue the evening that was in shambles due to the poor start by the hostess.
I made 730pm reservations to celebrate my husband’s birthday on a Saturday night. We waited 45 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Why bothers making a reservation? The food, service, ambiance, were all alright, but nothing I was overly impressed about. We won’t be back.
Reserved a table online for 7:30pm. Showed up promptly at 7:25pm and didn't have a table ready until 8:05pm. They sat everyone waiting before us. We were the last ones waiting. We expect to wait 10 minutes or so, but having to wait 35 minutes for a reserved table reflects mismanagement on their part. Food was excellent, but not for the price. They didn't bring the all the appetizers at the same time so those that had their appetizers had to wait for the other to be brought. That's something you expect from Appleby's! The dining are is small, they have many tables crammed into the dining area thus making it extremely loud. We won't be back and won't be recommending to anyone.
We visited DC Prime for the first time. The food was of highest quality and our server was attentive. The serious downside to the evening was a 35 minute wait for a table even with a reservation. It was clear from the number of people waiting for their reserved seating that the restaurant had overbooked ignoring all standards for a turn time on large parties.
We’d certainly go again but would definitely hope not to have such a wait. After awhile, the apologies for the wait fell flat.
Amazing food. Great server and nice hostess staff.
A bit on the pricey side for a traditional steak house but the food and service were outstanding. Three different handcrafted cocktails were quite good. HIghly recommend for the occasional “screw the price——. I want a great steak” outing.
This is my go to place for celebrating our anniversary.
Outstanding in every way Orlando was our server and was exceptional. The attention to detail was great. We both had steaks which were cooked to perfection. Great wine list, great bread, great appetizers. Well done.
Great service, good food.
We have been there multiple times. Eating. Sitting enjoying drinks cigars. This is top drawer. A solid place with best Customer service and excellent food!! Dont change anything!!!
The 22oz super prime bone in ribeye was fantastic as was my wife's salmon. The service was impeccable, definitely high on my list of places I would choose for special occasions!
Overall dinner was good. Nice ceasar salad and steak. However not impressed with crowded noisy atmosphere. Service was OK but not wonderful. Expect a bit more for the price.
the steaks are great, as were the sides. service and ambiance were only OK for a restaurant where the average steak cost $50. Beware the "MP" for the lobster tail add on.....it was $38! , felt like they took advantage of us on that one....we should have asked.
While the food was great, the incredibly poor service made what should have been a pleasant dining experience a disappointment beyond words. Several times prior to the reservation, I had called to explain this was a special occasion (birthday) to ensure, at the very least, it was acknowledged by the wait staff or during dessert. I wasn't expecting or requesting anymore more than a ‘Happy Birthday’ upon sitting at our table or perhaps a candle in the dessert. NOTHING was said or done. While we may have been able to potentially overlook the lack of care, our service was unlike any we have ever experienced at the more ‘luxury’ branded restaurants in Northern Virginia at this price point. Aside from a clear and unapologetic rushing of service, our wait staff was inattentive and negligent with the most basic of service. As an example, we were reaching the end of our appetizer and the waiter stood next to our table for 1-2 minutes waiting for us to finish in order to remove the plate. They literally lifted the dish as we took the last bit off to enjoy.
We will not only be avoiding this restaurant moving forward, I will personally be expressing my disappointment with the management directly and to those individuals who would ask for recommendations/reviews. This experience was such a shame as the food was tasty and well prepared; however spending $325+ on a basic special occasion dinner with extremely poor service will leave a bad taste in anyone’s mouth.
We’ve been to DC Prime several times, and the service continues on a steady decline. For this visit I have no idea our server’s name, because he rarely visited our table. We had an early dinner, so we could make a concert, which meant the restaurant was only 10% filled. Even with so few tables, we sat for more than 5 minutes before we met anyone. When our server did appear, he did/didn’t do the following:
1. Poured tap water, didn’t offer bottled (which we prefer)
2. Didn’t ask if we wanted a cocktail
3. Acted put-out when I asked for the full wine list
4. He returned with the list.....handed it to me......saying nothing, walked away.
We sat for several more minutes. At this point, I realized why we weren’t receiving attention. A table of two behind us had what appeared to be a former employee or server’s friend who’d ordered a delicious Silver Oak Cabernet.........
Irritation was now the special starter course for all in our section, except for the server’s friends who enjoyed drinks and appetizers.
IMPORTANT NOTE: there was a couple seated in our server’s section prior to our being seated, who must have received similar service, because they got up and left the restaurant in frustration without ordering anything. Wish I’d done the same.
At this point, my goal was to just eat and run in an effort to make the concert. No time to enjoy a good bottle of wine.
Service the remainder of dinner was great for the former employee. Not so much for us. Ordered a couple glasses of wine, he only brought one glass (seriously). Loaded baked potato came out empty.......(can’t make it up).
Food was probably a lot better, but the bitter taste in my mouth left by the horrible service could not be overcome.
I don’t imagine I’ll be back in the restaurant anytime soon. Good luck to the rest of you who decide to roll the dice.......unless you’re the former employee / friend who was able to enjoy the Silver Oak....... two bottles.
The food and service, Nick was our waiter, was outstanding.
My wife picked me up at the Airport on a return business trip from Australia, wanted something special and used Open Table, had an available reservation within 15 minutes, we were pleasantly surprised with excellent service and food!
Our server Stu was amazing! He made great recommendations and checked on us frequently. This is not an every day dining place but it is definitely great for special occasions. Both chefs wrote out a beautiful card for my husband’s birthday which I felt was a super classy touch!
Best crab cakes! Lobster bites were phenomenal as well! Ribeye Filet was good, requested medium and got rare but the fixed it quickly. Very pleased with DC Prime!
