Great restaurant that has a lovely feel about it and is informal in style with an open kitchen, but the food is Top Notch and full of flavour without being overpriced. Nice welcome and a hello from the chefs too! Simple decor but well done to keep the informal vibe throughout. The table for two was a little on the small side, but adequate and the tables don’t feel to be squeezed in to the generous floor space. Great selection on the menu and it’s nice to have a Snack option as well as the starters, mains and puds. Set lunch is a great alternative to A La Carte and very well priced. The Cheddar Fries as a snack ahead of your Starters are a Must… or have them alongside your starters to share across the table like the adjacent table did. Divine little cubes of cheesy, potato heaven! The food is seriously high quality and all with local heritage too. Serious culinary ability goes in to making food this yummy. We managed the snack, starters mains and a pudding each and felt comfortably full without being stuffed… the Panna Cotta and Rhubarb was such a finale and lingered for a long time. So good to have a restaurant of this quality in the region. Keep up the great work, Nicholas and The Amazing team!

Gidleigh Park truly feels like a gift that keeps on giving. From the moment you turn the corner and catch sight of the hotel across the river, a sense of calm sets in, along with a glimpse of how life might feel in a beautifully kept country house. The staff are warm and welcoming without ever being overbearing, striking just the right balance. The food is exceptional, both imaginative and delicious. If you are looking for a truly special treat, Gidleigh Park delivers it effortlessly.

Staff were pleasant and helpful we had a nice table inside the glass extension and the food was very good, with plentiful portions.

Our first visit to Stage and it was amazing. We have been wanting to go for years and treated ourselves for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We thought it was fantastic value for money considering the amount of food, the quality, the thought that went into it, the service and overall dining experience. It cost me almost half of the price pp to go out for one course and a glass of wine to a chain restaurant a couple of nights later for my friends birthday and it was average. I'd much rather eat out less frequently and visit stage than give my money to chain restaurants. We had a really lovely evening and will definitely be back. I've already shouted about it to my clients and friends. Thank you Stage!
