The Punch Bowl is a 17th century newly refurbished restaurant and pub located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and South Essex salt marshes. Chef Patron Rob and Front of House Manager Sally run a Two AA Rosette-rated restaurant, offering a nose-to-tail style menu with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Our menu changes daily as the season's best comes in. The menu will always feature day-boat fish, meat, offal, rare breed steaks and excellent vegetarian cookery. Have come to this unusual place on and off for roughly a decade to meet friends for Breakfast now and then and it never ceases to impress. Beautiful shabby chic vibe in an old orangery style boules club house with a French / Victorian aesthetic. And the food and service is consistently top notch. Friendly staff, meals that are well cooked and elegantly presented. Well worth a visit but dont forget to book your space. Its popular and not huge, so it maintains its selective and relaxed feel

It is a nice restaurant with a view of Southend airport which currently is very quite (the airport) The staff were very helpful and friendly which was great, the food was good and even with the starter of my partner being slightly over cooked, they removed it from the bill and thanked us for our genuine feedback. Overall i would return to the restaurant and could recommend it.
