An excellent afternoon tea in a lovely old railway carriage. Very generous amount of foods, both savoury & sweet. I went home with a box. And a lovely young lady serving us. BUT, if you li ke lemon in your tea like me, take some with you as they didn’t have any. I thought that was odd for a tea place.

Finally went for afternoon tea on the Countess of York! We visited on 11th Sept. It was wonderful, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic! The regular staff member who usually does the afternoon tea service was unfortunately not able to be there, so responsibility fell to another staff member who was having to split his time between the afternoon tea service and the cafe area. Despite this, he was fantastic, very friendly and attentive!! I’m sorry that I didn’t get his name! We had a brilliant afternoon celebrating my dad’s 70th and will definitely be returning!

That was simply lovely! As real as a High-Tea can be. Everything looked spot on and classy. And it tasted marvelous. Well worth the price.

A very pleasant way to spend the afternoon having a refreshing treat and a very nice environment. After spending four hours walking around the museum it was great to have a quiet comfortable break with a variety of treats to ingest highly recommend this for anybody who would like an English hike and a very interesting environment.

Highly recommend this! What an unbelievable experience! Took our Aunty out for her 80th birthday and she absolutely loved it. The service from Julie was fabulous. So friendly & attentive and she took the most amazing pictures of us. The quality of food was gorgeous and there was plenty, we had to take some away with us. Will definitely be back!

A wonderful afternoon tea set on a restored railway carriage within the Station Hall part of the Museum. The food itself was delicious, with sandwiches, cheese tarts, scones and a selection of cakes. There was a decent tea menu too. We were well looked after all afternoon, definitely one to recommend.

A great overall experience: a traditional British Tea in a lovingly restored historic rail coach in the premier railway museum in the world. Very quiet and relaxed, friendly attentive service from Julie and Rachel. Food choices were delicious, diverse and appealingly presented. Would definitely return.

This was a wonderful experience. We were warmly welcomed aboard the Countess of York by a staffmember of the York-National Railway Museum. We were the only ones booked into that slot which meant we had the carriage to ourselves. The tables were layed out beautifully with soft linnen and silverware. The lady served us several teas in elegant teapots and the Afternoon Tea itsself was delicious. It included scones with jam and clotted cream, fingersandwiches, small quiche and vegetable muffins as well as sweet cakes, maccarons and more. All of a very high quality. There was soft instrumental music playing in the background and we had a lovely romantic hour and a half there to celebrate our two year anniversary. Well worth it!

Fantastic food, attentive service, excellent atmosphere. Dining in an old luxury train car, and they perfectly encapsulated why the experience is interesting through their decor, staff, and table setting. The tea was high quality, local food with clear care taken in it's preparation. The woman serving us was kind, patient, and the perfect amount of attentive. I have not a single bad thing to say about this experience.
