Quality farm-fresh food served with quiet professional service.
We dined here for Father’s Day brunch and the service & food was amazing. My husband got a gift card of $25 with a beef jerky on it after our meal and we appreciate everyone. Thank you the hostess working Sunday morning and our server Octavia for the amazing server
We always love coming to Copperwood. I am gluten free and can find plenty of options. The Fried Green Tomatoes and Deviled Eggs are delicious!
First, they did a nice job of treating fathers well for Father's Day. But the service was slow and the food came out lukewarm. It was hard to get drink refills. This was our second time having brunch at Copperwood on Father's Day and had a much better experience the first time.
Food was great as always, but service was horrible. We were ignored and when we did receive service it was rushed. We got better service from the other waiter who was around our table.
Loved our waiter and our food and drinks!
CooperWood Tavern was a great experience on Father's Day. Our waitress, Octavia, was very hospitable, gracious, and accommodating to our needs. I'm sure that we'll visit again sometime in the near future. Thank you, all!
Always a great experience.
I find the brunch menu to have more dishes that appeal to me than the dinner menu offers. Tuesday dinner was Sweet Treat so the complimentary dessert was a special surprise -- and the choices were excellent and the desserts were yummy. It was kind of noisy and since our waiter was not a native English speaker, it was a bit hard to understand what he was saying. However, I enjoy the Copperwood Tavern and will come back again -- nice neighborhood restaurant.
Always a pleasure. Food’s savory & fresh and service is attentive.
Great food, great service...somewhat overpriced though, especially considering sides are purchased separately.
Our food was cold and the potatoes were horrible and burned. Not worth the $18 plate.
Restaurant was very good and tasty. Nice presentation of meal.
The main meal came out underdone and they fixed it promptly and offered a complimentary dessert which was very nice.
The food was so dry, and the drinks weren’t great. Horrible pricing for what the quality. I had to ask the hostess for my server when my food came. The server wasn’t aware or conscious when he asked how everything is, I said “well the food isnt great, it’s dry and I can’t eait it” he just said “ok would you like a box?”. We didn’t even care enough to deal with speaking to a manager because we just wanted to leave. We just walked across the street to Guapos.
This was my first time having dinner at Copperwood; I had dined there once for lunch. My friend and I really enjoyed the dinner experience. Our server was Sandra and she was wonderful. My friend was so picky and demanding (sorry), but Sandra was great. The whole staff was warm and friendly. I can't wait to come back with more friends. This is a great location with tons of FREE PARKING. I will be back. GREAT MENU !!!!
We had an excellent meal at Copperwood. The fillet was perfectly cooked to our order. Everything was delicious and flavorful.
The table we were placed at was very close to the two on either side
All good except too loud
good food good service charbroiled oysters were bland
I have been here several times and I keep coming back as they never disappointment. A great place to get a bite to eat either before or after a performance at theSignature.
I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for awhile now, and we finally went as a graduation brunch celebration - it was so delicious that we are going back for fathers day! The staff was delightful and attentive, and the food was so flavorful and creative!
Great atmosphere, awesome little place in Shirlington’s quaint center. I had the rockfish and the rest of our table had the rib-eye. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. The share size sides were delicious also, great variety. Service was excellent, very attentive and pleasant. Outstanding evening overall, definitely recommend!!
Overall Copperwood is a very good restaurant. The service was outstanding on a Mother's Day evening.
That was by far the most impressive part of the evening. However the food while good does not match the District prices (most entrees are 30+ with really no sides to speak off which moves them into the 40+ range). In my opinion moves it out of the Gastro pub world and into high end dining. In that world the food has to be 4 to 5* and it was not. There were some hits steak, frites but some misses as well, duck and the awful brussel sprouts. I do want to go back because the burgers look amazing and that keeps it in the more price of where it should be. Also good beer selection and again service was great. My recommendation would probably be brunch and lunch and a more casual dinner unless money is no object.
Food is awesome. Service is lacking. Waiter was not attentive, didn't get special requests right, and we always had to ask for drink refills.
Menu choices were excellent. Food prep, presentation, and taste were excellent. Service was timely but not intrusive. We would definitely come again!
Went for son in laws graduation from the time we walked in till we left everything was perfect from the employees to the food. I hope to go back to DC so I can boat again
Too noisy, hard to hold a conversation. Food was okay but very expensive. Service was okay.
As always great food and service at the Tavern, it is a relax atmosphere in a nice setting.
The food is nondescript. The menu has not changed in years. The place is extremely noisy.
Very Unique food choices. Everything was delicious. One of my favorite spots to go.
Food was excellent. Server mixed up our orders, but we didn’t notice. Waitress noticed! Cook offered a side to compensate. Not necessary, but a nice gesture. Re noise level: not sure why they need loud music in the background.... still, a pleasant meal!
This restaurant is very well located in a popular area that is very urban and still you can have easy access to parking. I have visited the restaurant before. This time I was disappointed. Simple chicken salad was overdressed and the chicken was cut quite thin which contributed for it being overcooked. Even the portion size was disappointing.
Two of us were dining. I had not finished a third of my meal when the waiter removed the place setting of my companion. It made me feel obtuse and rushed and completely changed how I felt about the evening. What’s the rush with clearing the plates when one of two people are still dining?
As always, the food and service were excellent!
One of my favorite places to eat in Shirlington. Wonderful staff, helpful and polite. Nice meat section, interesting beers. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed the food to table philosophy. The food was excellent and expertly prepared. The service was timely and polite. The food was served promptly. Overall a very pleasurable experience. Lighting was the only issue. We ate inside and it was very dark.
Love this place!
Excellent again, great service, fine food, original menu.
The service was great; everyone was friendly and we were served quickly. We had brunch and the food was delicious! Because we were served our food so quickly, it was piping hot! The ambiance of a tavern was cozy but some of the tables were a little too close together, it felt like I was in on the conversation the couple seated next to us was having. Also, the noise level seemed a bit high, but not intolerable.
