Cocina del Mar at Esperanza Resort
It was gorgeous and food was amazing although service was slow. The ambiance made up for it.
Everything about this restaurant was top notch! Highly recommend! It was our favorite spot during our visit to Cabo!
Cocina Del Mar is outstanding! You cannot beat the location and views of the sea!
The food was delicious and fish so fresh.
Beautiful views, outstanding staff, the food was delicious, and we enjoyed so much we ate their twice.
Exceptional restaurant captures the beauty of Cabo with elegant dining atmosphere and out of this world, mouth pleasing food! Thanks for having the best whiskey in the Baja!
Amazing place - in every way. A must for that once in a lifetime experience.
We had the most amazing experience from the moment we arrived. The service, the fresh food, and especially the ambiance make this a destination you should definitely experience for dinner. It's perfect for special occasions or everyday celebrations.
Beautiful views, amazing food. We booked a second dinner.
Stunning property and restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant and the care by the waitstaff is extraordinary. Every course was world class. My waiter Eduardo (Eddie) was professional and gave superb personalized attention.
Beautiful resort & restaurant. This restaurant, like the resort is so hip & has such a cool vibe. The food and service were superb. If you can’t stay at the Esperanza, at least go eat at 1 of their restaurants.
Once our favorite place. Unfortunately the last two years the chef tries too hard to be exceptionally ‘different’ when ‘great’ is all that’s necessary. Need to rethink what the consumer may want or need when you have one of the most beautiful views in all of Cabo. All that we need is a choice of a yummy local creation appetizer and a rich standby that never misses. For the main dish, A superb steak or chunk of fresh fish on the grill or our favorite white hot Cast iron fty’ (to capture the natural flavors using only S & P!). Grilled Shrimp was good, lobster (meh no flavor poor consistency), Short Ribs bland, dessert??? I don’t these people have ever been to the Cheeses Cake factory... or tasted Bananas Foster.
This is a gorgeous resort and an absolute must, if just for a dinner experience! It’s a bit pricy but the presentation and the food are superb. Very knowledgeable staff, helping to choose the wine and making exotic cocktails.
They had a wedding which is great. I made a reservation for outside. No one told me that the restaurant was closed due to the wedding. They seated us in the lounge. Would have been nice to have told me. I would have moved to another restaurant
Poor service. Food was too salty even when we asked not to use salt. Not our favorite anymore. A disappointing Valentine's Day..
Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful staff, bartenders, and waiters. We will be coming back.
It was a good surprise! We had an amazing time, full of romance! It’s the ideal place for couples. High quality service and food, an amazing sunset, and the restaurant is just beautiful!
Absolutely breath taking views and vibes - wonderful spot.
We had such an amazing dinner at Cocina del Mar we went back for dinner the next night. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was romantic and the service was exceptional. We had Edgar as our waiter both nights in a row and he and the rest of the staff did such an incredible job. We will be back!!!!
Cocina Del Mar never disappoints, always outstanding and still one of my favorite spots to have a meal in good company!
Very disappointing visit in several regards especially as we have enjoyed Cocina before and this occasion was to bring guests. We requested lower terrace table however upon arrival, were seated in upper terrace at oddly placed table with assurances of being moved soon (available tables were in sight). Despite the other tables remaining vacant all evening and our further enquiry, no one relocated us and only at the end of the evening the host awkwardly said that he hoped we could be seated at our preferred location the next time?? Our food and beverage were below standard as well - the freehand wine by the glass pours were very frugal. Off night for kitchen? - short ribs very fatty, side vegetables orders were embarrassingly sparse - consisted of approximately 5 baby roasted carrots and about 4 pieces of broccolini and palm sized serving of potatoes! The only thing they did not mess up was the lovely setting.
This place is so wonderful. Service was perfect. Food was interesting and creative. And the VIEW. Oh my.
Amazing food and setting by the ocean. The staff was very friendly with a great embiance.
I give absolute high marks for this restaurant, in All respects: Food, quality of ingredients, execution, staff, and the amazingly beautiful outdoor seating. My Fish Mixiote was simply stunning: juicy, moist, in a richly flavorful sauce and never over-seasoned, and of course wonderfully presented. Colima Salt Crusted Totoaba came with a generous portion of fish with corn tortillas - again, juicy, moist, and flavorful. Lava cake with cinnamon ice cream inside, was perfectly executed and worth every calorie!
Took. Y best friends for her 50th birthday. They let me pre-arrange a birthday cake and celebration. Seated us in our requested water front table, however every seat here is fantastic. Service is stellar and very attentive. Excellent food and very knowledgeable about the menu. Looking forward to returning to this excellent place.
This restaurant was picked for the location and the view over the cliff. For that I give five stars. The scenery, the resort, the setting was exceptional. Stunningly beautiful. It was a beautiful location for a 60th birthday dinner. The fireworks were beautiful as well on a Wednesday night, that was one of the reasons this place was picked. The food however was not quite worth the price. Almost a $600 dinner for 4. Was the food exceptional? Not really. But the scenery, service, fireworks and setting were.
We had a perfect table. The service couldn’t be better. The food is amazing.
In selecting a special spot to have dinner in Cabo San Lucas, we decided to splurge and go to Cocina del Mar at the Esperanza Resort. We had reviewed the menu online and were pleased to see a prix fixe menu (both 3 and 4 course options), which generally makes things easier. However, upon arriving at our table, we were surprised to see just an al a carte menu (and curiously organized one, at that). We ordered the grilled octopus, two vegetable sides, and a whole fish for two. The broccoli and asparagus sides were good, but absolutely nothing special beyond a simple roasted veg; for $20, we expected something unique. Same with the fish. It was a beautifully cooked white fish, but didn’t have any accoutrements or sauces, and was quite under-seasoned. For $80, we expected much more. The grilled octopus was fantastic, and by far the meal highlight. We also enjoyed the dessert sorbet.
Aside, the restaurant is beautiful, and we were so excited to be in such an exquisite location for a long, leisurely dinner; curiously, they brought all our food at once, and we were in and out of the restaurant in a little over one hour. The service we did receive was good, but we were disappointed. We would've stayed for hours, drinking and enjoying the atmosphere (and spending more money!) if we hadn't felt rushed. (To clarify, the restaurant wasn't busy.)
Though beautiful, I really couldn’t recommend Cocina del Mar from a value perspective. Cabo San Lucas is filled with many wonderful restaurants worth visiting before Cocina del Mar.
The setting is magical. They had fireworks during dinner. Best meal we had in Cabo.
Excelent food and service. Wonderful staff. The music was a little loud and obnoxious.
Birthday dinner for 50th
Amazing dining experience. The views of the ocean are magnificent. The food is inventive and delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive.
The most elevated, amazing, romantic dining experience in Cabo San Lucas; dining outdoors over the crashing waves and watching the water lap on the beach. Coming from San Francsico CA the food was expertly prepared without a lot of sauces, the pure food taste. The octopus I had was the best I’ve ever eaten. A whole baby octopus beautifully presented, tender and crispy from being cooked over a wood fire. I would fly back for that dish alone. Tuna taquitos are not your friend roll, but a sophisticated, delicate mini Ahi Tuna drizzled with orange(?) oil with a jicama slice as “taco shell”. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Wood fired whole shrimp. Warm Banana Soufle (egg whites only) light and ethereal. Superb service. I have eaten in paradise. Thanks you Esperanza 🙌💕
Special occasion was taking place so we were placed in a table at the bar. Had I known it I might have booked it somewhere else. Wine by the glass selection is poor. Overall not what I expected!
I have been dining here for 18+ years and I really can never get enough of this place. I truly love everything about your establishment...the wait staff, the food, the presentation and the ambiance. I will be back again and again until the day I die. :)
The tables were spaced out far enough so it felt fairly private. The only thing better than the view was the food. It’s a bit pricey but worth it
Beautiful place with excellent service & food
Nice location, great ambience and nice service but food is ok.
Great service and wonderful views
