Clyde's of Reston calificaciones y reseñas
4 people. Server provided water for 3, left one empty. Server didn’t ask for drink refresh. Server served appetizer halfway through entree. 3 out of 4 entrees were tough, over cooked, starchy noodles. Server did not offer coffee or dessert, and just brought out the bill. Noise level was louder than usual. Very disappointed the last two visits, as we have been going to various Clyde locations for years and had enjoyed it until recently. It will be very difficult to get us to return, at least to the Reston location which is a shame, as we live less than 3 miles away. We brought a good friend visiting DC from Alaska to Clyde’s, and it’s was a bit embarrassing.
I met my daughter there. She drove 6 and 1/2 hours for a business meeting and I drove 3 hours to join her.
The atmosphere was fantastic, the food both creative and delicious and the service was first-class.
The manager, P.J. superintended the delivery and timing of the meal spending time with us to ensure everything was right and to our satisfaction.
We had the choice of many restaurants at the Reston Town Center, however Clyde's was the right choice.
Again, kudos to P.J. and his excellent staff.
Just a great solid staple!! Clyde's has been getting the food and service right for years!! Brunch menu was terrific.
The only minor complain is the noise factor. It's been that way for years and I guess that's why I don't really pop in there to often. You need to be able to have some level of conversation - not a screaming match.
Clyde's of Reston never disappoints. We've dined here regularly for as long I remember. Service is always good, and their Maine lobster, which we all had, is terrific.
A warning to older diners whose eyesight isn't what it was - some genius at Clyde's decided to print a new menu that is jumbled and in a smaller type font. So fire up your smartphone flashlight to read it!
We had several positive experiences with Clyde's and me and my parents were excited to come here for a family dinner for veteran's day. When we sat down we immediately realized the menu had changed and was very hard to read between the font type/size and the lighting. We weren't offered any bread and the waiter quickly gave us water and asked if we were ready to order, which would be fine, but we had just sat down and they had clearly changed the menu. We ordered, two bison burgers, a chicken breast, and a crab cake for dinner. After maybe 20-25 minutes, we heard commotion and our waiter who was pouring us more water and taking the second round of drink orders said, "oh daamn, that ain't good," then he walked away. We turned around and saw at least two plates of food all over the floor. After another 20 minutes, another individual, I assume the manager, came over and asked if anyone had told us what happened to our food; it was ours that they dropped. No big deal, accidents happen. We were still waiting for our second round of drinks when our food finally came. Unfortunately, the food was not good. $20 for a calm cake the size of a hockey puck, cold spinach, and stale french fries are not acceptable. One of the burgers was delivered VERY rare even though both were ordered medium, and our fries tasted like they sat under a heater while they remade the meals they dropped. When you easily drop $160 on a dinner, we expected more. Nothing was comped, no gift cards, no apologies . This was very disappointing and we probably will not be coming back.
Now that the confusing paid parking is in place in Reston, the number of lunch guests has decreased dramatically providing a much quieter environment. It is not as vibrant as it used to be at lunch and that is both good and bad. However the food, service, and overall ambiance is still great. My first choice when meeting someone for lunch.
Service was attentive but not overly so. Food was as advertised, we went for the seasonal Maine lobster. The lobsters were fresh and tasty. One of our party is a vegetarian and there was more than one option—she loved the butternut squash agnolotti sort of like a ravioli.
Got together with friends for dinner on a Friday night. Service was initially very slow. Took about 30 minutes to get first round of drinks. Once they arrived, it was brought to servers attention. Service got much better after that. The food was great all around. It was quite crowded and loud but we had a great tine.
Clyde's has been in business a very long time and they have learned what it takes to be successful....consistent quality in all areas .
Service was excellent, food was excellent ..ate there 2 nights out of a 3 day visit, Best choice we could have made
I am celiac and this place made it very easy for me to eat. The waitress was very knowledgable of celiac disease and made a note for the chef. I had the cheese burger with a gluten free bun. The fries go in their own dedicated fryer. I did not leave feeling sick. Would definitely recommend. The ambience was nice and cheerful. The atmosphere was energetic.
Doubt if we will be coming back. We were disappointed that they have changed the clam chowder recipe and it is difficult to have a cup of chowder.
Biggest problem is the parking restrictions for handicap patrons. I could not be dropped off a the front door since they had the street closed for a Town Center special event. Even when we can use the front entrance, my husband drops me off and goes to the garage to park.
I cannot come up the shop the retail outlets because the distance from the garage to stores is too far. I am being penalized because of my status and am required to pay for street parking.
It had been quite a while since we had been to Clyde’s and I found it a bit disappointing. I was looking for something healthy and lite but not a salad and it was tough, just not a lot of options. I think it’s a good place to go if you “love Clyde’s X” and are in the mood for it. The service was good. We were seated right away.
Note unusual situation: I gave a very high on noise rating because their alarm system went off and rang incessantly for about 25 percent of our time there. These things are very random and you can’t blame them for the issue, but I do believe It was unfortunate they were not knowledgeable about how to disarm if expeditiously.
Great food, beautiful restaurant, my only complaint was our server which I would not consider attentive for the caliber of the restaurant. We received our dinner and didn’t see her again. We had to ask someone to find our server two different times during the evening.
We ordered soups - Clam Chowder and Crab Bisque - two of the favorites, or at least past favorites. The crab bisque was nothing but flavored water with cream in it. It was awful and we sent it back. The clam chowder was better - but certainly not up to the Clyde's that we knew. What a disappointing meal. The waiter didn't know what to do. The manager was useless.
Our family (adults) had. Not. Been. Together for a long time. Atmosphere and decor were just perfect as we had delicious befores, drinks, salads, as we caught up and chatted. We had reserved and we're late. The hosts were friendly and accommodating and our waiter the same.
Had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
Great, accurate service for Sunday brunch/family reunion at open with a group of 10. Food was good; waiter's descriptions were accurate. Clyde's was not nearly full, even by the time we all left, so can't promise our noise level experience was representative of busier times, but it was perfect for conversation with mixed ages. Service was attentive, but not intrusive, and it was dead-accurate.
Visiting in Reston for a wedding. We met some long term friends here as it was next to our hotel. My husband and I each had the market salad, which was a nice blend of greens and light dressing. Our friends shared the Mediterranean plate, which had hummus, olives, chick peas, and pita, and some other items I didn’t pay attention to... it was a huge plate of food! They shared with us as well. It was very good. 3 of the 4 of us had the meatloaf with horseradish, which was really very good. It came with plenty of mashed potatoes, and a huge slice of tender meatloaf. The 4th person had a chicken dish, which she said was also very good. Overall, Clydes was a good find for us...convienient, good food, and a great place to catch up with our friends.
We walk annually in the Leukemia Light the Night and also dine afterwards in the town center. Tonight we ended up being a party of 12 and you accommodated our large party on a busy night. Unfortunately the salmon was overcooked and we were never offered dessert or after dinner drinks, only the check.
We like Clydes RTC although we don't go as often as we used to, very since the parking app process is not only expensive but a complete pain. Clydes validates for an hour during the day & this was lunch. One hour is kind of a joke since no one even took our drink order for 15 minutes. Same thing happened last time we were there for dinnerr, on the patio. Except that time it was 20 minutes before anyone took our drink order & another 20 minutes before they arrived & the waiter stayed long enough for us tom place our dinner order. Both times it was not crowded, so apparently understaffed. Both times service was friendly & gracious but slow...probably due to the understaffing or perhaps the kitchen. Between the RTC parking fiasco & the enjoyable but average experience(s) we won't cross it off our list but it's not quite the favorite it used to be.
