Clyde's of Reston
**Every night we offer a Late Night menu until 1:30 am!**
It was just ok
I came here for dinner with coworkers and there spouses. It was a perfect evening and we had a 1 year old with us too the servers were prompt and friendly. A good time was had by all.
Love the patio to break bread with friends. We had a wonderful meal.
Erika, our server, was outstanding. Efficient, helpful and cheerful.
Great restaurant. I am never disappointed with Clydes. The only suggestion I will make is when a reservation is made, one should be able to have a table outside without there being a one hour wait
Some context - my wife and I ate here when we first moved to Reston almost 6 years ago. At that time we felt that the food was not up to standard in comparison to either the Clyde's in Broadlands or the Clyde's at Mark Center in Alexandria, so we have not returned. Fast forward to tonight, I had a catch-up dinner with a friend who suggested this restaurant. I thought, 'Why Not? Let's see if the quality has improved since 2012.' Well. . .our server Britany was absolutely wonderful and the presentation was good. However, the food remains overpriced and mediocre with no 'wow' factor. Not planning to return, because there are many other, better dining choices in Reston Town Center.
We had a delicious meal and all three generations found exactly what they liked. The grandfather had difficulty walking to the door following the meal and sitting for a long time, and a waiter helped him very discretely and kindly. We enjoyed all aspects of our outing. Thank you!
Clyde's at Reston Town Center is a reliable, good value restaurant with a range of selections on the menu. They make a real effort to provide local and seasonal choices such as crab cakes or Rockfish. The service is always friendly and efficient. Good food at a fair price!
We've always enjoyed going to Clyde's at Reston Town Center. Had a very good meal. Friendly waiter. New menu is pretty good, although the price increase pretty much dictates we won't order a steak. Overall, a very pleasant dinner.
I ordered a Caesar salad with steak, terrible! The salad was old and wilted and we ate early so it should have been fresh. Steak was tough
The food was excellent. Server was friendly and attentive. Had a very good experience overall.
This is normally a favorite of ours but tonight Was different - they were out of the grilled swordfish on the menu. Not a special item, an everyday menu item. Strange. Settled for fish n chips because I don’t eat catfish and did not want trout or salmon. Would have preferred grilled fish to fried. The place was nearly empty but they were out of swordfish. Hmmmm. Also, the 60s/70s rock n roll soundtrack was rather loud and an odd choice for 8pm on a Sunday evening. My dinner companions were put off by it. Rest of experience and food was fine. Server was attentive and pleasant.
The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Sunday night which was a nice surprise. I had a crab cake which was delicious and a light meal. Our waiter was very charming and as soon as we let home know our coffee was cold, he graciously had a fresh pot made. It was a very nice evening for two good friends to catch up.
Good basic food with great seafood and fish options. Kids options are good but not crazy about giving my kids huge side of fries as the accompanying side to cheese pizza. I asked the waitress if that was a mistake and she said no. Probably a rookie waitress. Some of the food is way over salted is my only area of improvement. I love the location and have been here many times for business meals and large birthday party dinners over the years. I’m loving the local and fresh menu options and changes.
Always consistent food and service. The saloon grilled cheese is the best.
We so enjoy all the Clyde’s establishments and Reston is no exception...we were visiting the area for both business and pleasure and enjoyed our dinner here one night...food was outstanding and prepared to our taste- clam chowder out of this world.. as always and the atmosphere is so warm, friendly, comfortable...our server was super friendly and enthusiastic and made great menu recommendations, our meal was served timely, but was slow in checking in on us and the check/payment process was long...we also asked for a booth for two in the front of the restaurant, it was a little quieter...outdoor dining was closed due to the heat.
Great selection of food, and outstanding service (once we were seated). One annoyance was they did not seat us at our reserved time because part of the group arrived late -- they made us wait in the waiting area for 15 minutes, even though there were several empty tables. What a waste!
Came for the Strawberry Shortcake Special. They were already out by 530.
Went to Clyde's to take my family and in-laws out for for an early Father's Day dinner (5:00pm reservation, so it wasn't that busy). The food and service was sub-par. Having to continually flag down the wait-staff for refills while waiting for the food to come out. Then when the food did finally come out it was apparent that it had been sitting under the warming lamp for quite a while. With 2 of the steaks being well over-cooked and the roasted brussel sprouts appeared to be the fried dredges. Sent one of the steaks and the inedible brussel sprouts back. During the following +15 min wait the manager came over and offered a salad while we waited for the food to be re-done. Overall a very poor experience and not what was expected having been to Clyde's previously.
Great place to meet up with family to celebrate Father’s Day and birthdays!
The service was absolutely terrible. We waited 25 minutes before a waiter saw us. The manager had to bring us our waters because our waiter was missing in action. When our waiter finally showed up, we requested bread and butter, which was never brought to us. Thirty five minutes later, our food finally came and the waiter never asked us if we needed anything. I had to flag a busboy for assistance. The worst dining service.
Great starter, however steak well over cooked for a medium rare, which is disappointing given what you pay for it.
Acknowledged by the server and chef, with offer of a free beer - not quite what I was after!
Very nice place for a get together or a special occasion. The service was great!!!
Excellent experience! Wonderful way to enjoy a celebration!
Clyde's is in Reston Town Center. During the summer RTC has live music on Saturday nights. Clyde's does have outdoor seating to listen to the music while you eat or it's a quick walk outside the resturant doors. My husband had the Crab Cakes. I had the Ragu. Food was great and it was a nice setting for our anniversary.
Had 2 waitresses covering a shift change. First waitress left us for 8 minutes after we were ready to order, socializing to another waitress in view of our table, which was frustrating. The next waitress took over midway through the meal, and after eating, we asked for dessert menus. She left, and somehow honestly it was 10 minutes before she showed back up, forgetting the menus, but then grabbing them, which turned out to be 2 feet behind my wife's head on an opposing shelf! We decided to pass on the dessert after the frustrating wait, and then she dropped off the bill. We waited yet again for 5 minutes for her to pickup our credit card, but she was flirting with waiter on the other side of the divider, and she just couldn't be bothered. To avoid the wait, we paid cash, and we left a tip under 10% for the first time in over 20 years, and I still feel bad that I left that much. I almost regularly tip 20%, and I'm shocked that this staff doesn't care. We've had several similar recent experiences with this Clydes in the past year, and we miss the old Clydes when it was a well-oiled machine.
Loved having Sunday Brunch here. Had a big group and everyone loved their dishes, which ranged from Eggs Benedict to mussels and an asian dish. Young girls at the desk need some more customer service training (tended to ignore the patrons as they came in and somehow expected us to be aware they were speaking to us across the crowded reception area) but the server was great and we all had a great time once we were seated. Will definitely be back!
it is a good place to get together with friends and family.
Great Service, great food, wonderful time!
So-so experience. Food was subpar and fairly expensive for what we got. The Caesar salad didn't have lettuce and I told the server who said that they switched to Kale when the romaine issue arose months ago and hadn't yet switched back. Not a Caesar salad but no apology or anything. The salmon burger was merely ok but it was better than the hamburger. The chili was great but not worth it given the rest of the meal. The server had family friends at the next table so we didn't get much attention. Will likely pass for sa while
Make sure you visit Clyde's of Reston on your birthday and let them know that it's your birthday. The free birthday cake is awesome. Clyde's always does a great job!
Food was definitely the best thing about this restaurant. Service was so so. Kitchen was expedient. Atmosphere appeared drab & tired.
Great and hospitality service. Very loud at first but quieted down. Food was average to good in portions. Food flavor could be better. Staff and service was excellent.
Awesome Crab Cakes..
Interesting and safe location
The appetizers were very quick to come out. However, we then had to wait a long time after our appetizers were cleared for our entrees. The food was quite good.
Wonderful time! The food was great and I had a wonderful time. The staff was super helpful!
We really enjoyed our visit to Clyde’s at Reston. There are several Clyde’s restaurants, and they are all different. While we often visit Tower Oaks, we found this to be a different experience, and possibility a different menu, but the food itself was of a predictably high quality. My scallops were cooked perfectly, and my husband’s fish and chips were very good. Our server, Brittany, had a delightful personality. She checked with us frequently but not too frequently, and was warm and friendly. She seems to truly enjoy her job. Next time we are in Reston, we will go to Clyde’s.
Great service! Orders were correct and acccomidating to dietary needs.
The five brunch dishes we had were mediocre at best, perhaps with the exception of the soft-shelled crab sandwich, which was pretty good. At 12:30 on a Sunday, the restaurant was mostly empty. I understand why. The food is clearly not as good as it used to be just a few years ago. The waitress we had was excellent. But she must be a bit embarrassed by the food.
