Clyde's of Reston
The food and service was great.
The kitchen accommodated my request for a flour free soft shell crab brilliantly.
Brought a friend visiting from the west coast to Clyde’s (a favorite of ours) for lunch. The restaurant was not terribly busy for 1:30 pm and we were seated promptly. It took several minutes for a server to show and VERY long for drinks to arrive. After raving about Clyde’s our friend was a little surprised. Again…not busy. When the drinks arrived we placed our order along with an appetizer. After waiting 20 mins for the appetizer our entree’s arrive with it. The server was very kind and brought the entrees back to the kitchen(this server was not our server…who knows where she was). The manager came by and assured us that we would be receiving fresh entree’s. We appreciated that. I ordered the crab cake and was shocked by how small it was and wished I had ordered the double but at 34.00 for two it seemed pricey. But it was disappointingly small. Maybe the dinner portion is larger. I won’t order it again. The other entree’s were tasty but the overall vibe was lost by the time our server finally reappeared. We ordered another round of drinks but again by the time we received them we were done eating and ready for the check. A really off day...I don’t know the name of our server but she was different from previous enthusiastic servers that keep bringing us back. We will probably take a break from Clyde’s at Reston..
Bar was over-crowded and understaffed! It took 20 minutes to get a drink. Food was EXCELLENT and service was also. Noise level when we were first seating was extremely loud. Our server, Chris, was nice enough to move us away from the large group where the noise level was much better. Chris was an excellent server! Overall, we enjoyed the experience and will return.
Best soft shell crabs in the area. Nice ambiance. Good service.
We were there for our 1st anniversary. Our server, Kelly took extra effort to make us feel special. She is very friendly and provided excellent customer service! Thank you!
Clydes in Reston has wonderful gazpacho & pasta Bolognese.
Service was absolutely terrible. The server would leave us for period at a time. Took me three tries to get her attention to order me a second drink (after waiting for 20 minutes with no drink). Then had to catch her again to request a dessert menu. Outside of the non-existent service, the food was good.
Nice restaurant for a Mother’s Day dinner. Food was great and service was great. Was a bit pricey, but not bad for an occasional dinner.
Advice for full-figure folks: The table sizes vary significantly. Ensure that you are comfortably seated. The food was very good. I was surprised that they do not offer baked potatoes when I ordered a ribeye steak. Smashed potatoes are available upon request, as they are not on the menu either. My strawberry shortcake was so-so. The biscuit was very, very hard. This was Mother’s Day so perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed. Clyde’s is still a favorite!
Clyde’s is great! A neighborhood go to place.
Just poor service this time. We are a frequent guest and this time, service was off and unfortunately was mother’s day and mom didn’t get to experience it like we know it can be
Great Mother’s Day brunch experience. Very busy but service and food was wonderful, as always. See you soon!!
Not one of my better experiences at Clydes. Service was slow. Waitress was fairly inattentive. Never came by to check on drink refills and brought the pre-meal bread with the meal. The other Clydes locations are much better all around. The Rest on location? Meh
We have bee coming to Clyde’s since it opened, probably 25 years ago. I couldn’t give you my five star rating, because that was the best I could do on a very busy holiday day. Otherwise, we love the restaurant and will continue to eat with you.
We went on Mother’s Day with our reservation. We were able to be seated early, which was a bonus if you have kids. Our server was a little frazzled but mostly on top of things- again, it was mother’s day so there’s a little more understanding. The complimentary brunch coffee cake was fresh and very good. We ordered the beignets which needed more powdered sugar and our mains- crab cake Bennie and breakfast sandwich - were very good and we left clean plates.
We had a large group for Mother's Day brunch. The service and the food were outstanding!
Disappointing, especially considering the price. 7:00 PM reservations that aren't available until 7:30; made longer while we wait for a 'seater'. Drink specials that turn out to be unavailable; and then only when the server is asked "where is my drink, my companions got theirs?" - "Oh, I forgot to tell you..." The rib eye was less than top quality - quite fatty. The onion rings and crispy fingerling potatoes: meh. Trying to get the servers eye to pay the bill - difficult, despite lots of empty places by that time. Overall not an experience to be repeated by choice.
This was my family’s first time here to celebrate Mother’s Day. Our service was horrible. It took a long time to get our food then, our waitress literally forgot we were there. We waited for over 30 minutes for her to come to ask for our check. When she finally came by she said, ‘oh sorry’ rudely like we hadn’t been sitting forever. My dads steak was over cooked. My moms scallop dish was so small she had to eat some of my fries from my small crab cake portion. We won’t be back. Thanks.
The ambience and menu choices are always excellent. However, at this visit we were not pleased to see a rather sizable increase in prices. In a few cases, the increase was considerably outsized considering the quantity of plated food (eg scallop entree). It is disappointing to see that Clyde's past moderate pricing seems to be disappearing.
Service was generally quick and professional as usual for a Clyde’s restaurant, and the staff went the extra mile to accommodate our large party when it became clear we’d made the reservation for the wrong date. Food was good, if not great, and prices are in line with the other restaurants in the area of this quality. Drinks were excellent!
Love Clyde's, always a reliable choice for good unpretentious food and friendly service. One note to the manager - on our last visit which happened to coincide with Cinco de Mayo we were seated in the same section as a very large and very loud group of non-Mexicans that decided that it is a good enough reason to drink and be extremely noisy. We eventually asked to be re-seated into a different section, as did another family who was seated in the same section. It seems like a simple decision for a hostess in a not at all crowded restaurant to NOT seat families in the same section with the rowdy and noisy group. Just a hassle for everyone, including your staff, later.
Our server, Christelle, was the highlight of our brunch!
The food was good.
The restaurant was busy so it was a bit noisy.
Our server, Christelle, was awesome!
Food is good. Not a lot of options on the menu. A bit on the expensive side. Good for a date night.
We came here for prom night and the workers never took us seriously. We waited almost an hour for food, then the manager came told us he would give us 50% off for everything. We ended up taking it to go. We will never offered any refills or anything. Worst experience I have had in s restaurant like this.
Still great after all these years! Trout parm is still one of wife's favorite foods.
Occasionally loud with great food. A favorite place for dinner after a Nats ballgame.
Still love going here 20 years later. I do think they've slipped a notch, but I'll still go.
Everything was great however the booth where we we seated was too tight to be able to enjoy our evening.
Our waiter was very busy with a large party and I had to ask for an ice bucket for a bottle of wine and other items. Although very friendly he was just was not able to serve us as well as I expected. Wine was warm and the food was OK
Good food - service a little slow. Would recommend.
Always an overall excellent experience at Clyde’s!
Terrible electronic background music. At times, we felt like we were an afterthought we the server.
Love Clyde’s for holidays and regular dining too. You can’t beat sitting in their outside area in the Spring and Summer. We went Easter Sunday evening. They were out of the dish I requested but I was able to find something else right away that was delicious. Most people had come for brunch that day and it was too cold to sit outside. But a very shy nice young busboy told me that they still had some hot cross buns left and would we like them? My sister and I love these and we both said yes immediately. They were wonderful! This is why I like Clydes, they always find a way to make it special!
A lovely Easter Brunch experience!
Easter brunch with family.
Great Easter brunch of smoked salmon frittata and Monte Cristo French toast with Brie, ham, strawberry jam, pecan butter, maple syrup and brunch potatoes. $4.00 mimosas (or Bloody Mary) a bonus. Service was great in spite of the Easter crowds.
Good food great service
