Always brilliant, this is one of my regular haunts. I have on occasion tried other Indian restaurants in Glasgow but I always come back to Charcoals. Why go anywhere else when this place is so good??
Been to this restaurant many times over the last 5 years and it's a must when ever we are in Glasgow. We normally visit late afternoon so its normally a quiet vibe. Never been late on in an evening. Would highly recommend this restaurant. South India Garlic Chill extra hot for me. Mmm.
Excellent food as always!
Love this restaurant. Great food, service and value for money. The veg samosas were the highlight. They had chickpeas in a spicy sauce on top. Amazing!
Excellent food, service and drinks … and value. Superb!
Superb and always give you a 'wee freebie' to enhance the meal.
Great food. Fantastic staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Extras on the house was a nice touch. Will definitely be back.
As good as previous visits. Full on Saturday @1930 with somewhat slower than normal service.
Best to book as quite a few turned away before 2100.
Loved Charcoals. Food fab.
Only area that was appointing was toilets.
As always great service great food and at an affordable price.. always a warm friendly welcome.. well staffed gem of a restaurant..hands on manager comes across as a true gent...
We had been to charcoals once before for my 21st and hadn’t been since so decided to go again for a treat. It was just as brilliant as the first time which was a couple of years ago. Very fast service but didn’t feel rushed out the door. Gorgeous food, staff very friendly and would definitely recommend.
Fast friendly service, cracking food and decent price.
Delicious food as always and good value for money. Friendly service too
Lunch at Charcoals was lovely and very reasonable too . Small front to restaurant but once inside opens up to a lot of tables .
Excellent place for a meal. I’ve been a few times now and it’s been first class each time.
Went on previous reviews and expected to be wowed by the food. However, very poor food quality, very bland and expensive considering you get 1 lamb chop and kebab in a mixed grill which is £15 approx. When asked waiter for advice on what to order it felt quite condescending and rude. Again, same mannerisms displayed when asked about portion size, like i should have known before i ordered. Overall, not a great experience for a place that seems to have lots of rave reviews
What great value the lunchtime menu is. Plenty of choice with portion sizes just right for lunch. Food was fresh and piping hot and the whole party thoroughly enjoyed it.
I am a fairly regular diner at Charcoals and have never been disappointed. As always, the service was efficient but friendly. The waiter kindly charged my phone while we ate. The food came in good time and while it was most enjoyable, I have to say I have had better. Perhaps my change of menu choice is the explanation(?). Anyway, I will have no hesitation on returning and recommend Charcoals most highly.
Decent Indian food, good service and value for money.
As soon as I walked into Charcoals for the first time ever on Friday, I fell in love. I loved the atmosphere, the decorations, the service and of course the food!! I’m not a huge fan of spicy food because I find that the spice tends to overpower the whole meal. At Charcoals however, I could taste the rich flavours and authentic combinations, and the spice was just right! Amazing, I recommend highly.
Recommended by friends, went for a family meal, all 8 of us loved it and staff kept giving us extra dishes on the house! Would definitely go back!
All round excellent ... been many times before and food is remains top quality
The best Indian restaurant I have been to in years, it looks small from outside but once inside the seating area stretches round to the other side. Very busy which is a good sign. I was with my wife and my mum and we had the pre theatre menu. 2 courses for £9.95. We started with veg Pakora it was amazing, I had Indian chilli chicken, my wife had Korma and my mum Traditional Curry. All dishes were amazing so tasty. We had nann bread and rice and the waiter came over and gave us complimentary nan and spiced onions on the house. We cleared the lot and we will 110% be back soon, big portions, tasty food and friendly staff. Best Indian by far
Seating very cramped, could do with a spruce up.
Food & service excellent
Outstanding, as always. Delicious curry. The best service in Glasgow.
Been on a lot still fantastic , if not been would recommend one best in Glasgow city centre and great value for money
Tasteless curry, very bland, everything else good including service etc
Charcoals never lets us down, food is excellent, staff is excellent and very friendly,we always look forward to dining there
Arrived on time & shown straight to our table.
The service was very friendly & efficient with the food courses arriving very promptly.
Good quality and enjoyable.
Booking recommended as it gets busy.
Fantastic service, very friendly staff and personal touches that added to a great evening
Another fantastic meal at Charcoals. The staff are so attentive, the manager is exceptional at making sure everyone has what they need, it's like watching the conductor of an orchestra. Then the food, without doubt THE best Indian food I've had in the UK. All the awards they get are very well deserved and that's not taking into account all the social help they provide throughout the year. Amazing place, amazing food, amazing service.
Excellent food and service but we were unlucky enough to be on the next table from a group of men that were very noisy, drunk and shouting so we couldn’t hear ourselves think. But the food was oh so good!
Charcoals is surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because from the outside it looks like a mediocre indian takeaway but when you get inside the staff are warm.and welcoming, the service is amazing and the food is absolutely delicious! We have never been disappointed.
I’ve been to charcoals on many occasions and have never been disappointed from the food to the staff excellent as always.
Another great meal in Charcoals. Second time in the restaurant within a few weeks and the food and service as before was excellent.
Loved the masala pompadom and also got to sample some chicken wings on the house.
The variety of curries is good and the food is cooked perfectly.
Can’t wait until the next time we visit Glasgow and return to Charcoals.
Been going here for about 8 years and still my favourite Indian restaurant. Food and service always excellent. Ali and his team go out there way to make you feel welcome. Ali always gives you something extra to try, over and above what you order. If not on the menu , just ask. Recommend to anyone to try
Would recommend this restaurant, everything was delicious and will definitely be back 😀
our second visit, and we enjoyed it again .. lovely lunch menu at a good price.
We visited the restaurant on a Sunday evening. It was fairly quiet. The food and service were very good. A fine selection of options for starters and mains and also a good selection of reasonably priced wines. The food was very flavoursome. Would definitely recommend.
