Carmine's - 44th Street - NYC
Birthday party fun.
Great food as always and good service. Quick for how busy the Resturant always is.
Excelent food and serviço.
We all enjoyed dinner very much but massive portions, so one main between two is plenty. Would thoroughly recommend here. Book first as it’s always busy.
Quite frankly, I cook better. We had the squid pasta. It was bland and tasteless at best. Thankfully, the squid was not chewy. Sure, it’s touristy and we HAD to try it. The young girl at the door bordered on the rude side. Over crowded for a Wednesday. The bread was cold. Sorry, not sorry but I like warm bread with my pasta. Not sure I’ll return on my next visit.
Disappointing overrated attempt at Italian food. Nothing like the dining experience we have had there may years ago.
Overbooked!!! Our reservations were at 5pm. We arrived promptly and were asked to wait near overcrowded bar with 20 other families also waiting to be seated, while our table is getting ready. 30 minutes later still no table!!!! Ended up just leaving to another place. Very disappointing. If you can not accommodate, dont book!
Our party of 10 was cramped in a corner on the first floor. The stuffed mushrooms were made with spicy hot sausage and we were not warned of that. The calamari was okay and the penne vodka was ok, I've had better.
It's too much commercialization and not enough genuine good cooking. Service was fair, nothing extraordinary. I would not go back.
This was my fiancé’s and mine second time eating here. We came back because of our experience the last time and the food! The food was once again great! We had reservations made for 4pm. Arrived on time. Waited by the bar for our name to be called to sit down. It took over 20 minutes for anybody to come greet our table. Soon after we were greeted the waiter stated that he would not continue with us because his shift has ended. A silent man stood behind him that would take over. They both left. Still waiting for water... or bread or someone to take an order of any kind for quite a while. Once the silent man came back he was not silent anymore. He started off with trying to up sell us... we don’t even have anything on the table yet. We wanted to order a Brandy Manhattan and a Vodka Soda... he said what’s on the cocktail menu we can have. Stunned... we ordered our dinner wine instead. And asked for water as well. About 40 mins after our reservation start we finally had bread and water. We will probably try somewhere else next time. However, the table next to us ordered specific drinks off of the menu and had prompt service. Didn’t seem like any care went into our experience. As someone that has been in the service industry on many levels this was shocking to me and my fiancé.
The waiter did not know the menu- I ordered a 15.00 glass of white wine and served in a juice glass and when asked for a wine glass told me they didn’t have any. When I replied I see wine glasses behind the bar - he replied that those were for drinks! Not. Great experience
Perfect spot for lunch before a matinee. Large portions but luckily we were able to have leftovers wrapped
and took them into show.
Good atmosphere. But menu for main chicken does not include any pasta or potatoes . Must share food makes the price ok.
Always great food. Never disappointed. Will be in Carmines in Atlantic City this Sunday
I enjoyed Carmines because the food was excellent. We had chicken parmigiana an penne alla vodka. There were big chunks of carmelized garlic in the penne it was the best penne I’ve ever had. The chicken was tender and thin but the best was the tomato sauce it exceed all my expectations. As an appetizer we had Spedini alla Romano which was exquisite, Mozzarella and bread with a wine caper sauce truly it was a taste experience. To end we had chocolate coated cannolis with pistachios pressed into the ends of the cannoli. I would have given Carmines four stars but the downside was the music was exceptionally loud and jarring. I would definitely go again and have been telling everyone I know to go because it’s quite an experience. I wish there was a Carmines on Long Island!! ❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely beautiful and our waitor was brilliant ,great value all around
We loved the place. It's complete NY style.Food is good, very big portions to share, in group it's better to be able to try more things
Although, one of the servants was very rude while paying, as our card doesn't work with whiping system, we were forced to pay cash, unfortunately we didn't have enough to leave a tip, but they were very rude, didn't deserve it. Apart from that, everything was amazing
The service here is superb and would definitely come back but with friends or family since they only offer family portions. Buca Di Beppo have nothing on this restaurant as the food quality is fresh.
They don’t like Kids!
The hostess take more than 30 minutes to find a table to us, and everyone who arrived after us was sat down first.
Very bad recepcion.
The food and table service were great.
We ate before going to see a show. We had a Great time. My wife and daughter totally enjoyed it.
Best Italian food in NYC hands down. Casual family atmosphere and friendly service.
We had an excellect dining experience! We were celebtating out of town family visiting...it was a great choice!
Great place for a hungry crowd!
Carmine's is one of our favorite restaurants in NYC!! The atmosphere, the food and the service are all fantastic. A reservation is a must and even then be prepared to wait a little. Most tables are large parties so people tend to linger a little longer, but you never feel rushed to leave. Come hungry!!
A reservation is the way to go!! Busy Saturday night, 8pm reservation. We were sitting by 8:05!! Food was amazing as always. Love Carmines!!
Delicious, accommodating, amazing crowd of people, waiters and waitresses 5 star service, order the zucchini fries, titanic dessert. Special ordered the grilled chicken parmigiana. Outstanding dinner and time
everything was perfect. i went to NY and made a reservation a month ahead and was taken AT MY RESERVATION TIME which was so nice even though it was busy. the amount of food and prices was not even too expensive. i think everything was perfect. It was my boyfriends birthday and it was a good one thanks to carmines
The food was great. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Unfortunately the service was poor. We were not even offered dessert or never checked in on us.
Made a reservation to have people who came after us be seated before us. We also waited past our reservation and had to say something to the individual by the door before we were finally seated. I always love Carmine’s but the experience at this particular one was not up to par.
Excellent food- family style! We always book Carmine’s when we visit NYC!
Me and my partner had a fantastic meal at Carmine's and will defo revisit on our next visit to NY.
Portions were small compared to prices! Tonys Di Napoli is much better quality and larger portions for less money! Veal tasted like it was fried the day before and had cheese thrown on it and heated!
The food was not good at all. It was cold, salty and the bread was cold and hard. For the money spent I was so disappointed
Will never go back
WAY too crowded. I felt bad for people with tables surrounded by people waiting for their ore-theatre dinner.
We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and were not seated until 45 minutes after our reservation. Staff was discourteous, short and dismissive during this time, and it left a bad taste in our mouths. There was no acknowledgement of the birthday we were celebrating, which I included in my OpenTable reservation. Once we were finally seated, the wait staff did an adequate job and the food was good. However, the severe mistreatment we received prior to be seated has severely affected the rating.
Delicious food and great service! This is a must for us when we visit nyc
