Lovely little place in the heart of London. We went for the Thali (Meat version) and had an absolutely gorgeous experience. Though this thali doesn't include the usual raita and lentils - (which was a surprise), we still had our fill of fabulous food.
Staff were very attentive and friendly.
Place was a little empty initially - but started to fill as the evening progressed.
We arrived a whole half an hour before our booking and ate straight away - (They were very flexible).
We loved the food, service was great. Very happy we found this place as affordable and good Indian restaurants are few & far between in central London. We will be back.
We booked a table at Bombay Spice last Friday because of good reviews on Tripadvisor. Did it come up to our expectations? Well, the food was all right, and the service was good. Staff members are attentive and service-minded. We got a table in the front room, close to the entrance. Unfortunately, there was a rather noisy party of men in the same room. There were may be 8 or 10 of them at first, but yet more arrived, and they became more and more aloud. To have a normal conversation, we had to ask the staff for another table. Our friendly waiter immediately gave us a table in the back room. There we enjoyed our food and had a wonderful time - for about ten minutes. Then another group of approximately 10 men – yes, still exclusively males – arrived and occupied the table next to ours, and they were in drinking mood and shouted and laughed just as loudly as the first group. Again, it became impossible to have a normal conversation. We finished our meal quickly and left.
I am not sure if the staff at Bombay Spice is to blame for a ruined meal. What could they do? But the conclusion of my review is this: Bombay Spice is a wonderful place, given that you are a member of a large male drinking party.
Lovely food, nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. Would definitely return.
Nice neighborhood curry house. Good food, good service and good price. Chicken Curry Madras very nice. Good quality meat and nice spice. Naan fresh and seasoned. Same for the butter chicken. Nicely done. Good solid restaurant. Recommend for an out of the tourist zone quiet dinner.
This is the worst restaurant that I have visited
I was the only one in the restaurant after being persuaded to eat there by a man standing outside the restaurant
The food was terrible - I had prawn jalfrezi and some Vega table dishes and did not finish the food . The restaurant waiter did not care and just wanted me to pay the bill
I ended up with an upset stomach
Avoid please unless you’re after a terrible expensive and stomach churning food
Booked from online as my daughter requested a curry before our theatre show.
The facia doesn’t do justice of the food and service. Which was a lovely surprise.
They offer a lot on the menu and more than happy to accommodate my sons non adventurous mild palette, and my husbands very spicy very adventurous palette. Food was freshly cooked very tasty and lots of it.
Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will return.
Nice restaurant but food disappointing. All dishes had similar sauces and were rather bland. All the dishes were quite sweet which was unexpected and the biryani was very sweet. The poppadums were good.
Perhaps not the nicest place and street, but well worth the food. The food was very good and well enough reason to go again. Friendly and joyful staff, would go again.
Met friends for dinner who were visiting from overseas . It was a great place to meet staff were friendly food good
Menu and cooking catering locals, would not recommend if looking for authentic Indian food
Very good Indian food
We had a lovely evening. Good food, welcoming staff
Really enjoyed our meal - attentive, friendly service
Very convenient location close to Baker Street tube. Good food without being spectacular - though the chilli paneer starter was excellent! Good and spicy and a bit of a change from onion bhajis - though other members of the party had those and enjoyed them. Good range of options for all palates.
