The only thing that bothers me about Bocado is how loud it gets when it is full. It makes it nearly impossible to have a conversation with my lunch companions.
Food good but not inspiring. Service good. Nice place to meet.
Really friendly find on the UES. Great for brunch.
I'm always happy to find that Bocado is just as good as I remember. We love dining here.
Excellent menu with varied choices. Each of us had something different from the others, & we all thought the food was outstanding.
Service was friendly & very good as well on a busy Friday night.
Very good tasting food. Reasonable prices. Always satisfied.
I found Bocado because I needed a place to meet a friend coming from the East-side downtown. I live on the Upper West side. This was convenient with the buses and subway. We just had wine and hummus but the hummus was delicious. There was plenty of room to choose a table and we could easily have privacy and have a good conversation. I like that there's a lot of natural light from the wrap-around windows. We'll definitely go back.
Nice place to eat in an area that doesn't have a lot of good restaurants.
Nice staff even charged my phone!
I've been twice in the past three weeks to Bocado - the server remembered me and my family and what we had ordered last time! Amazing and friendly and attentive service. Delicious salads and artichokes. We are native NYers and my mum - who never travels more than 10 blocks for dinner now finds an excuse to have many of her meals with us and with friends at Bocado Cafe.
Good food. Service a bit slow. Noisy like most places in NYC>
Love this place!!!!
Excellent family neighborhood restaurant. Go there all the time.
Casual but quaint cafe with a great lunch selection and good value especially for a NYC restaurant. Service was excellent. We were celebrating a birthday and the server kindly acknowledged it with a free drink and dessert. Would definitely recommend.
Food and atmosphere were both great. We were just looking for a brunch spot that was close, and found a close we'll definitely frequent more often.
I have walked past this place many times and was excited to try this place. Upon our arrival we were notified that the kitchen closed early because they didn’t expect more guest that evening or for us to show up to our reservation. We explained that we made a reservation to eat, however the waiter at the front of the desk was extremely unapologetic about the matter and did not care about the inconvenience it caused us. I can’t believe a restaurant would do that to their guests without any prior warning / communication about the matter.
Lovely neighborhood treasure with great ambience and friendly wait staff. We would go back in a heartbeat.
Food was delicious. Service attentive and they didn't rush us out.
Great Sunday brunch with family! Comfortable relaxed feel snd nice friendly service. Food was exceptional!!
Everything was great for Sunday brunch. This place is totally reliable, excellent in every way.
It’s a reliable local restaurant. The food is good, not great. The noise level is very loud so it is hard to have a good conversation.
Angus Burger wasn’t as good as on previous visits. Special pasta entree was good but expensive.
Food is always very good and service is consistently excellent. They are always happy to have our infant in a stroller.
Very good for a casual meal in the neighborhood, but service was very slow.
The food was delicious as always and the portions are large. Service attentive. Very nice wine selection. The chocolate cake is amazing. This is one our favorites, not in our neighborhood, but always worth the trip.
This is busy restaurant for a quick lunch with friend or by yourself. Food quality has improved over the years and it has been more successful than restaurants in the neighborhood.
Good selection on menu. I had the poached egg, avocado on toast with field greens and I'd order it again anytime.
Bocado never disappoints! Great place to unwind over dinner on a Friday night with my wife after a long week at work! Great food and a nice wine selection too.
We had the lamb burger, the flank steak, spinach fettuccini and linguini Bolognese. All were delicious!
Great neighborhood place. Food and service have been excellent both times we have been here.
We have been eating at Bocado few times month for a while. Consistently good with great service. Great neighborhood find.
Always a great experience. Staff and management always on point. Food is excellent and a great value
We got in here at the last minute during an unexpected downpour. It was a short walk from the Met. The food was good and they had a good beer and wine selection. The ambiance was great.
we went for brunch, my friend found a black hair in her sandwich; won’t be going back sadly but fairly priced for manhattan. all brunch entrees come with a free mimosa
Had 2 guests In from Europe who wanted a “burger”. In my opinion Bocado has one of the best burgers in the city. They both had the Bocado burger I had the Angus Burger. Needless to say it was the best burger either of them had ever had!!!
In addition, they enjoyed one of the draft Brooklyn beers and were impressed with that as well.
All in al a great time and affordable! 😎
Always a delicious meal and they have something for everyone. Everything is made to order and very fresh!
Mediocre food , long wait to be served . Overpriced.
The food at this place used to be better before .
Nice enough place until one of the other patrons tried to stab me with a knife. My impression is that he was a bit Alzheimer-y (and possibly a bit drunk as well) and that the unrelenting noise in the place got to him because he jumped up, loomed over me at the next table, and screamed, "BE QUIET!!". I stood up and faced him and may have said, "NO, I WON'T!" in response, but then I looked down and saw that he was holding a dinner knife in his fist!
My brother's wife wanted to call the cops because it really was "assault with a deadly weapon" or at least "menacing," but the maitre d' intervened and settled the guy down. I got the impression that this customer might have been a regular and that the restaurant was familiar with his issues. Still, I found it awfully strange that his wife was dining with him but that she never once looked up from her plate or made the slightest effort to quell the disturbance. Equally strange was that they allowed the guy to finish his meal and no one connected to the establishment ever said another word to me. In fact, the maitre d' mysteriously disappeared directly after the incident and was never seen again! No apology, no accommodation, or any other acknowledgement of this somewhat distressing episode was ever offered.
So I enjoyed the fare for what it was - sturdy if unambitious - but I advise customers to be on guard for the maniac clutching dinnerware!
The food and service was wonderful; We enjoyed the environment too - beautiful design, open, family friendly but not noisy. Definitely going back.
The food was fresh and well presented. The cafe is small and the tables are close together. It is NYC, however the acoustics seemed to emphasize the lively conversations, which was too bad.
It would be nice if there were GF options to accompany the hummus (which was very good).
Had brunch with friends and their 18 month old. Food is always good and easy neighborhood setting. We have since moved and I will miss this place!
