We were there to celebrate a birthday. Collin waited on us and he was fantastic. Our food was very good and cooked perfectly. Thanks to Collin for making my husbands birthday perfect.
Food was a disappointment. Lemon cake was dry prime rib was not seasoned.

I always order prime rib whenever we go to this restaurant and it's cook perfectly all the time. However, my husband ordered NY steak the last couple of times we went there and the steak were both well done and not medium rare like he requested, but they replaced them right away and the NY steak was amazing when we visited just a couple of days ago. I have always been happy with their phenomenal customer service and their GM, Bernard is the best!
Food was average at best once they brought out the correct order. Service was incredibly slow despite operating at 25% capacity on a quiet Thursday evening. Way overpriced for the quality.

Your cooks (are not chefs) need to learn how to grill a steak. My wife ordered medium rare, but is very rare. I wanted mine Blood Rare and it barely had grill marks

Made a reservation but still ended up waiting for 20 minutes. Gentlemen seating tables was very rude. Everyone else was very pleasant and the food was delicious.
Service was fantastic. The food was OK my husband steak had a lot of fat on it but they made up for it by removing it off our bill and bringing us another entrée.
We have always enjoyed Black Angus, and we were not disappointed with our experience.
Upon our arrival, the initial interaction with the hostess was rather off putting. We had made reservations for a table outside and the hostess indicated that they were really trying not to seat people outdoors . She said that she would have to get special permission. We informed her that if we were not able to eat outdoors, that we would not be dining there. She left and spoke to a manager who allowed as to sit outdoors as we had arranged on our reservation. (I will also note that from the time we were seated, there were 3 other party seated at the outdoor tables ). As for the food... The shrimp cocktail was quite good and the prime rib was tender although did not have a lot of flavor. The barbecued ribs were excellent.e was a superb waiter.
He made certain that my drink was always filled and that everything was exactly as it should be. He also did thoughtful extra gestures such as bringing extra napkins and multiple glasses of water without needing to be asked. Despite the fact that he was not scheduled to have a table outside, he handled the switch with grace and professionalism.
I requested outdoor and yes it was in a parking lot but I did not expect much because we are in a middle of a pandemic
I rather be safe eating outdoors than eating indoors . The tables were every other table indoors and they were spaced out over 6 feet outdoors

We ordered the special for 2 and it was decent size with appetizer to share , salad , a side and 2 entrees and a dessert to share . It was good value in my opinion

We love Black Angus and have been going there for years. We've had good food and not so good but always have a good time. This day we both had steak, lobster & shrimp trio. Lobster tasted unusually fishy and clarified butter way too salty. Steak was cooked perfectly but it was tough. We were bummed they didn't have Teriaki sauce on the menu yet (it's great on the steak and broccoli). We'll go back again.
Our server was really awesome. She was on it! She came prepared to so her visits were limited. She was informative and knew the information of the offer we wanted to take advantage of. She served us with a smile in her eyes and was very upbeat.
I love the service. The parking lot eating could have been spruced up a little bit but it was fine for now. The car head light blinds me every time a new customer arrives and that was a little it distracting.
We are longtime Black Angus customers, and have always rated it excellent. But this time a couple of things made it not so good. First the service was very slow. It may be due to Covid and not enough staff, but it took a long time to get seated (we had a reservation), and it took a long time to get drinks. Once we ordered dinner it was better.
But the biggest thing that made it not a great dinner was the Rib Eye steak. My wife ordered it Medium Rare. When it was served it looked terrible, like a cheap stake cooked in a frying pan. It was about half an inch thick, with a LOT of fat on it, and was cooked medium well. NOT a good steak at all...though my dog enjoyed it
BA El Cajon didn't meet our expectations. We were seated in the bar at a table in the middle of a very bright room. TVs all around. Just not the romantic anniversary dinner we had in mind. Waitress asked if we were celebrating anything and congratulated us on our anniversary but we were not offered a piece of cake or anything like most restaurants do. (and we have previously received at BA) No freshly ground pepper during Covid-19? Odd, but whatever. Service was a bit slow but not terribly. They seemed short staffed as the busboy gathered up dirty dishes from several tables and left them on one table nearby. We lost our BA in San Diego and decided to make the drive to El Cajon. It will be a while before we try them again. Just not worth the effort to get there.
We sat down and immediately saw rat droppings on the ledge of the dividing wall surrounding our table. Needless to say, I didn't stay to see how anything else turned up.
Everyone dining out during COVID-19 needs to give restaurants a little more grace as they try to manage their business during this open-close-open-close-open situation. Black Angus is doing the best they can during a difficult situation. We had a very good experience and are grateful they chose to reopen.
The manager and the waitress were very friendly and attentive.

So glad the Black Angus is open again. It is my favorite restaurant. They keep me coming back with their surveys so I can get a free piece of their delicious carrot cake.
My friend and I visited your restaurant to take advantage of a coupon I received via email. It was the dinner for two with the 1 appetizer 2 entrees Etc. We were disappointed to find out that we could not upgrade our starter to what I think was the Wagon Wheel. However the rest of the meal was very good, and our server was very gracious to fill our request for an extra ice cream and hot fudge serving to take home with us for our extremely yummy Mile High Chocolate Mountain dessert.
I ordered the asparagus which cost extra and it was completely dry.
First time at this location. Molly was our server and it was the best experience we’ve had dining out.
We arrived on time for our reservation. When we checked in at the desk we were told it would be “a few minutes.” We were told we couldn’t wait in the lobby but had to go back outside. It was still hot outside and I’d been on my feet all day. There was no one else in the lobby. The chairs at the outside tables had been leaned up against the tables as if they didn’t want anyone sitting there either. So we were supposed to stand outside in the hot sun. I’m too old and sick to stand in the sun waiting. Okay I get that they are trying to follow “the rules” of the covid situation. But there is making the best of it and then there is going overboard and causing people discomfort for no reason. So my current personal illness that causes me current discomfort is not as important as a virus that a very small percentage of us MIGHT get if we don’t wear masks and stay 6 feet away. But since I was wearing a mask and there was no one else in the lobby of the restaurant, why make me go back outside to stand in the sun? Ridiculous.

Always my fave place to go on a Friday night with my dad. Glad it is back up and running. Cant wait until it is fully in service and all menu items are back, but in the meantime, they are doing great with what they have.
Food was great and so was the service. Our waiter was great so outgoing and friendly. It was a good time.

My wife and I had the half pound prime rib, baked potato and salad. Everything tasted excellent. We were seated at the time of our reservation. We live in the San Diego CA area so the resturants are open for indoor dining, The seated was at a good distance from each table. I felt very safe.
The food and staff were nice but the service was extremely slow despite the fact that the restaurant wasn’t even crowded.
Service and food were fine. It was good to go back again. The prices seemed to be bumped up since closing for the pandemic, but I'm sure it was necessary with the limited seating for social distancing. Still a good value.
