Benares calificaciones y reseñas
We had a large meal late in the day and Benares has a Street Food tasting menu in the bar area which is quite reasonable and suited us perfectly. The flavors were exciting and we really enjoyed it. Will visit the main dining room on our next trip to London.
We have had some very nice evenings at this restaurant, but on this occasion there were some inconsistencies. We arrived at 9pm for a 9,15pm booking, there was no-one to greet us for about 8 minutes, we were then taken to the bar and left for another 10 minutes without a drink, nor menu, we were taken to our table apex 9.40pm. We were asked if we wanted water and when we said no, we received somewhat of a weird look by the waiter as if we'd made an incorrect decision. Food was far more spicy than usual, my wife was unable to eat her meal and when discussed with the waiter he said we should have mentioned this at the beginning, not a good reply. The service seemed dysfunctional and inconsistent. This was not a nice experience in comparison to the previous times we have been to this restaurant. We will definitely be thinking twice for this booking in future.
We were a little early for our reservation and were seated at the bar. It is a very lively atmosphere. About 20 minutes late we were taken to our table. We had a very nice meal, quite a few dishes very spicy, as you would expect. We got a nice bottle of wine recommended with our dinner. We appreciated getting some nice sweets after, even though we didn't order coffee. All in all a very nice lively evening with good food and wine.
We went on a weekday lunchtime and had the set menu, the food was exceptional and with the deal including a champagne cocktail it was really good value. I’ve been before and I will definitely go again, particularly if a similar deal is on. But I must emphasise that the food was absolutely excellent.
Our first visit to this restaurant. We loved it!
Modern Indian classy restaurant in Mayfair. We had the 3 course set lunch with a glass of champagne and a glass of the house wine. The food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. We shall be back.
Fabulous food and friendly attentive staff.
A sommelier who was really knowledgeable and extremely helpful without being patronising and took the time to talk through the wines we chose to match our food.
Food was excellent, such fantastic flavours, will have to come back to the UK soon so I can visit again. Great experience, food and staff. Thanks
Welcome host was not welcoming. Cocktails had multicoloured plastic straws. The service in the restaurant area was much better and the food was good. Overall experience was not however what I would expect from a Michelin star restaurant.
We had a very warm and friendly welcome n a wet and cold day. The food was exquisite and the lovely touch of a cake for my wife's birthday was unexpected and very much appreciated.
The staff were smart, friendly and knowledgeable. I am sure we will visit again.

Creative and well-judged Indian food. We had the tasting menu which was varied and nicely balanced. Service was excellent but not all the dishes were perfectly executed. Some were frankly tepid on arrival and others, such as lentil dal, unusually bitter suggesting the spicing was unbalanced. Restaurant is comfortable and has a good buzz but acoustics are such it was at times difficult to hold a conversation. For the price could and should have been a little better.
Very friendly and informed service, from the check in team to the waiting staff. A nice room too.
Good nibbles whilst we chose our food.
Tandoori quail with beetroot was delicious - beetroot raita was a sweet take on the cucumber version. Soft shell crab was also tasty.
Mains of tandoori chicken were large portions and came with tangy salad and mint dressing. There was a good deal of spice in the chicken, possibly too hot if you feel normal tandoori is about right. Sides of rice, Nan and spinach with paneer were good.
No room for dessert but mint tea was welcome.
I had the kofta with green chilli which I thought was quite bland and was only rescued by the accompanying peanut sauce. My wife had the lobster biriyani which was a little tough. Overall a little disappointing as we had expected so much more from a Michelin star restaurant
i have eaten at this restaurant many times but Wednesday night was not a very good evening both me and my guest stated that the food we had at our local venue and at well under half the price was considerably better my guest is vegetarian but both the starters and main courses were not a patch on previous meals we have had their
Had an upset stomach immediately having the food! The starters were nice but the main dishes Tandoori Murg and Lamb Chops were disappointing. The lamb chops were off as my wife didn't try it hence she didn't have any upset stomach. However, we brought the Lamb chops at home and my wife had it and she had the same problem immediately. Didn't expect this from a such a high calibre restaurant.
hi my wife and I travelled from Hereford to the restaurant on Saturday because of the reports and comments made on your webpage.
However we were very disappointed in the amount of noise within the restaurant made by fellow dinners, and at one point your staff informed other to keep the noise down.
my wife and I were unable to communicate to each other because of this unacceptable level of noise.!!
all in all a very disappointing evening having travelled all that way.
we will not be coming again when next in London.
Mr Steven Yarwood.
Service and food beyond exceptional. Staff very attentive and professional but created a relaxed atmosphere for diners. Dietary requirements met with ease. Food was incredible, portion size perfect and great value for money. Can't wait to return.
Absolutely fantastic! We had the tasting menu which was worth every penny. Course after course of flavourful, wonderfully presented food. Best Indian food we’ve ever had. Also a good amount so you went away feeling full. Warm welcome on arrival, friendly service throughout. An overall wonderful experiance. Would recommended Benares highly!
