Went here for brunch to celebrate my birthday. They brought over complimentary Cava prior to our meal. Service was prompt and friendly; food amazing!! Ambiance is “shabby chic” which doesn’t match the food, but does make the place cozy. 10/10 would go again.
Amazing food, kind staff - we highly recommend the waffle with strawberries!
I love the food at Belga's Cafe. The atmosphere was upbeat and packed. The service was awesome.
I discovered Belga Cafe in April 2021 and it’s become my fav weekend brunch spot.
My last visit was on Sunday, 25 Jul 2021, and I found out that my favorite drink, the Jack Rabbit, was taken off the menu.
I was devastated.
So what did the Executive Chef/Owner do? He created a drink especially for me with jalapeño rhum!!!🔥
The staff is great. Fabian’s smile is always a welcome sight and Crista’s energy always makes each visit special. And a special shout out to Ray - who broke the devastating news to me about poor Jack...
I'm sorry to say there was a general consensus of our large party that the food could have been more flavorful. I had the green eggs as did others. It had nothing to make the dish standout.
We are regulars and Belga is a favorite of ours on the Hill. But on this occasion the food was less than great. Maybe someone just had a bad day. We’ll be back.
Just delicious… we had 3 appetizers each and a great Sauvignon Blanc
We went on a Saturday night at prime time dinner and there was no one there! Pretty sad and painful atmosphere. Decent food bur nowhere worth the price. $18 for a single scallop? I’ve been to many fine dining establishments and this is ridiculous and overrated. Fine, but not worth the visit.
I love this neighborhood restaurant. The staff are warm & friendly. The food is always delicious.
$42 for a pasta dish the size of an appetizer. I had to ask the waiter if my serving was indeed the entree and not the appetizer, it was that small. Okay, then maybe the dish was out of this world and thus worth it? Not even close. A major ingredient was left out, and the only ingredient (crab) that might have justified the price was barely there. I would have complained, or had them try again, but it was a special occasion and I didn't want to add any unpleasantness.
From the moment we walked in we felt a cozy, welcoming vibe. The cocktails are absolutely beautiful and well balanced. Dinning outside was an excellent choice as the weather permitted it and you could really take in the DC experience. Starting off with the Pork Buns was just mind blowing good then I had the Bronzini fish, it couldn't have been a better meal. The whole night was just prefect!
Food was delicious but lukewarm. Coffee was terrible. Service was great.
We went for brunch. The food was absolutely amazing. PERFECT poached eggs, which to me is the mark of an excellent restaurant.
Maybe my new favorite spot for brunch on Capitol Hill!
Our server was garbage. The hosts is curt as usual, but efficient. My food was pretty good. I'm having problems with the service for a second time... not sure about returning.
Went during Belgium Food week and the food was amazing.
Very warm and friendly with consistently great food.
Delicious food and Belgian beers. Sergei was helpful picking drinks and made our anniversary special.
Still a favorite brunch spot year after year!
Food and service was fantastic as always.
I still love Belga after all these years. Chef Bart continues to find creative, delicious ways to present food. We went for brunch and shared the cinnamon roll waffle (which tastes almost sinful it’s so sweet and delicious) and the Falafel Waffle with red beet hummus. I was super impressed with the main course — hadn’t had it before. It was a perfectly acceptable portion (unlike most brunch places which serve massive amts of food) and the flavors were so delicious. Very impressed.
One guest has the branzino which was average. Burger and mussels for other three were excellent.
Once we got settled at a table outside, it was lovely. Great food and good service. With that said, they will work hard to steer you to Betsy’s “upstairs.” You walk all the way around the building and up the stairs into a kitschy, little space. It’s hot with a super annoying electronica soundtrack and sullen servers. We kept thinking we couldn’t wait for it to be over. So, we left immediately and went downstairs, got a table streetside and enjoyed our lunch. Don’t be fooled. Avoid Betsy’s.
Outstanding service from beginning to end. Wonderful meal
Over rated and stuck in a time warp. Nothing was awful, just meh. Not exciting at all…
As a Belgian, I can only confirm that the food was authentic and excellent. A big shout out to the staff who were all outstanding. They had all the orders spot and were very friendly. A must go to place
Lovely presentation. The pork belly appetizer was life changing!
Loved the food and the service! Definitely will be back
Had the classic mussels and sat outside. Good was delicious and service was great!
