Great experience! Delicious drinks, food, service and surroundings!
Food was delicious. Great service. Came around often to refill our drinks for the bottomless drinks. Also had a great table by the window! Would definitely come back
Truly great food and service with a smile. Love the place and worth a visit
Unfortunately when the person at the next table asks if they can get past and the only way is to get out of your seat you know the place is overcrowding the customers. Watch out for specials on the menus that are the same on the main menu but $5 more because they are a special cut of meat and fresher meat as per the waiter. When you get the meal you cannot tell whether it’s fresh today or yesterday’s or last week as it’s charred on the outside all the taste had gone
Met an old friend for drinks. Had hummus and the grilled octopus appetizers with the Jalisco and Basilika cocktails. Very delicious! Can’t wait to come back...
The team was so nice, professional and warm! Everyone who came to the table was very kind and engaged with each of us...was unexpected and so nice. It was a standout experience because of the people who served our table, well done!
Best place to hang with friends!!awesome customer service!delicious food and drinks!!!
Don’t usually go to the park ave spots but really enjoyed a late dinner here. All of the food was great but the artichokes were AMAZING! Great space and service
Dinner was delicious! Very good menu with different choices. Excellent service and the ambience is really nice.
We went for brunch! The restaurant is beautiful, the food was amazing!! Our server was so nice and helpful, I’ll definitely be back soon
The food was delicious and it is a definite foodie experience but the service was more than questionable. The server was never around, forget about getting a soda and had to be reminded several times. Never offered to bring bread and when requested, never brought it. Had to ask another server to help us out.
Food & service were very nice. The noise level was obscenely loud. Hence, a nogood recommendation
All is outstanding. Price could be a bit more reasonable!
Amazing food and service was stellar. Definitely highly recommended
My friends and I have been to Barbounia before for brunch and had such a nice time we decided to go again. However, we had a very poor experience and will find somewhere else to go for our next get together. The service was just unpleasant; it was clear our server did not want to be there.
always LOVE barbounia though it did seem a bit noisier than usual this past sat night
We went to brunch, mimosas weren’t that good but cocktails at the bar yes
Loved this restaurant! The food is fantastic. Looking forward to going back and trying more things.
This place is overly impressed with itself. The vibe was snobby and the maitre d’ was downright rude to us. I was there to celebrate my upcoming wedding with friends and they led us to a cramped table in the middle of a heavily trafficked area. When we inquired about two empty tables along the wall, we were told in a rude tone that “this is the only table we have available for you”. Clearly this was not the case since the table they gave us sat 6 and reservation was for 7 (we only updated it to 6 upon arrival). The tables by the wall sat vacant for another 20-30 minutes before they sat another party of 6 at one. The treatment put a bad taste in my mouth that even the friendliness of our wait staff during the meal couldn’t make up for. I won’t be back.
Beautiful large room, but not so busy weekday lunch so not noisy and not crowded feeling. Simple sandwich excellent but sandwich couldn’t possibly earn a fifth star. Based on the sandwich I have high hopes. A bit pricey but in line with the quality. I’ll try it again.
Very noisy when crowded. I come early to avoid this. Good is delicious.
Exceptional service from the hostess to the wait staff.
Awesome falafel! Also great grilled octopus. Food is creative and delicious. I like the cocktails too. They are clean tasting and creative. Love the ambiance. Service was great too.
Beautiful space. Great food with great flavors. Service was rushed and on auto pilot. Our server appeared, recited recommendations for our meal, requested we get our entire order in in one order He the recommended a bottle of Barolo. We hadn’t begun to choose our meal and had not asked for a wine suggestion.
Great service, great food and bottomless champagne for $20. Had a great time.
Food was good and it was a hopping, busy spot. However, even though I had a reservation we were shoved in a tiny corner table with a curtain basically on us. Then we had already eaten half of our food and the server had not brought us our unlimited champagne cocktails. Every other table in the place had received theirs within moments of sitting down. I had to flag another server, as ours was missing completely from the floor, to even ask where they were. At this point, my companion had decided it wasnt worth it so she switched to coffee. A loss of at least 17 dollars for them. Then I had to flag yet another server to have my glass refilled. Two servers tried to take our plates away when we clearly still had food within 2 seconds of each other. Not to mention our original server didn't know that our food came with sides and tried to sell us fries on the side. Then another different server finally brought our bill, nevermind that noone asked if we would like a coffee refill. Withing 1 minute of the bill being on the table he tried to take it. We hadnt even looked. So theyre fast at trying to get your money but nothing else. They clearly so desperately wanted our table we moved to the bar to finish up our time here. All in all, the food was great. Loved the idea of the 20 dollar champagne but the service was abysmal.
Rude service from rude management who seem to think it was just fine to put 3 toddlers (mid-way through our meal -- each approx. 2-3 years old) in height chairs so close to our seats that the toddlers' heads were literally resting on the back of our blouses. We asked to see the manager to inform him of our incredulity at having these toddlers placed so close to our table. He could care less. Maybe because we were a table of 5 women that this male manager just assumed we would be perfectly happy having these 3 r screeching children placed practically in our laps. Newsflash: not every table of middle-aged women, out on a Friday night (7pm) wants 3 toddlers imposing on their grown up (and not inexpensive) meal mid-way through dinner. Not only did this manager seem to not care - he also didn't have basic skills to figure out some solutions to the situation: we suggested he seat the newcomers at a visibly empty table across the way. NO. Move us? NO. Relocate the height chairs to the far end of the long table, farthest from us? NO. We were basically told to just suck it up and not complain. As I read all the stories about the misogynist behavior of male chefs, perhaps this is just a reflection of the trickle down of those attitudes, playing itself out in the front of the restaurant. The male manager in charge that evening was not only disrespectful - he lacked basic restaurant management skills like a) anticipating a situation and b) figuring out win-win solutions. Nada. Nothing. NOTE TO ALON JIBLI: you're supposed to be "one of the nice guys of the restaurant industry". It's a shame to have such poor managerial skills go unchecked - attitudes and skills that tarnish the reputation you've worked hard to built. Unconscionable behavior that evening.
Everything was good overall, it’s a bit expensive but the food was very good. The one knock that I’d say was that I brought a rather large umbrella because it was raining out, and there wasn’t really much space under our table for it, so the waiter took it for presumably safe keeping. But as we found out at the end of the night, she actually put it in a container with a couple dozen other umbrellas, and by that point someone had taken my umbrella, mistaking it for their own relatively similar but less nice and much heavier umbrella, which I reluctantly left with after confirming with the wait staff that they had in fact left my umbrella in the shared umbrella container. :(
Good food as always but laughable service. Had to ask 3 different staff members for the check and waited over twenty minutes to receive it. Then had to get up and bring the credit card to to hostess stand to pay so we could just leave! Ruined the whole experience.
Great brunch! Lively, fun ambiance. Really nice staff, a 19.99 all you can drink special and very good food. Not tons of choices but there is something for everyone on the menu. It’s a happy place!
The staff here is amazing! They were so accommodating, attentive honest and quick. The food was perfect 👌🏽
Fabtastic service Love the cauliflower
Fun restaurant with good food (but on pricey side) - negative was that it was very noisy - was hard to have conversation with person across from me.
Staff was pleasant and decor lovely.
Awesome food, great service, excellent venue/vibe. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in town. Thank you!
This was a real treat - excellent food selection and service, pleasant ambiance, and the ability to talk and hear each other without straining or screaming. Many healthy choices - fresh fish, vegetables, and tasty meat dishes as well. Although this was my first visit, we will definitely be back!
The food was excellent. Creative menu. Drinks a bit pricey though.
Definitely one of my favorite brunch spots in the city
a great place for a wonderful brunch, my friend and I agreed we would definitely go back.
Went with small group for sister’s birthday. It’s a really fun place to brunch and celebrate. Food and service are both solid. We liked the unlimited champagne. It does get loud and that’s part of the fun ambiance. Not a place for serious conversation but not impossible to talk either. Never been for dinner, only brunch, but would not hesitate to recommend Barbounia for fun times with friends.
A Mediterranean experience like no other. Great Food, attentive staff hip vibe and all at very reasonable prices. This is my Sunday spot for brunch. Best in Manhattan!
