Baja Cantina - Marina del Rey
If you like Pina Colada's you have to try their Chi-Chi Colada, amazing! All the food was very fresh and good tasting. Really good salsa and home made guacamole. Fajitas and Enchilada sauce very good. Fresh chips as well. The front of the house is all bar and it is hoping. If you want a quieter dinner, you can sit in the tables inside and they are away from all the noise. We had a nice booth. Good service, good value.
Baja Cantina always delivers a consistent experience! Location is great and sit outdoors if you can...
Didn't bother to order after 3 drinks took over 20 minutes in a mostly empty restaurant. Margaritas were sub par at best. Usually much better experience here, sucked tonight. Server was very nice and polite, not his fault.
Fajitas always so good
Will come back
A decent place with friendly staff. Food was average.
Friendly service. Very tasty the mango's enchiladas. Right sale. If we will back to Venice Beach we will consider it again for dining!
Lovely meal, service excellent
We have made this restaurant our regular dinner location before we fly out of Lax. The food, service and ambiance is consistently good.
I have lived in the Marina and environs for better than 15 years. Have passed Baja Cantina literally hundreds of times, but my wife isn't a big fan of Mexican food, so we never it through the puerta. So this Father's Day, I decided to take advantage and chose BC for my Dad's Day Dinner. REALLY glad I did. The food was exceptional, the service was excellent and the margarita was top shelf. Literally. Everyone (including my 14 year old twins and my wife) enjoyed it. My only complaint is that the food was so good I definitely overate -- but we followed up our dinner with a stroll through the Venice Canals, which definitely helped. All in all, a wonderful meal and we will definitely be back.
$22 for a bland margarita? We think this is what shocked us the most. Strict hostess wouldn’t seat our party of 6 until they allllll arrived. Once we eventually got seated we were told happy hour just ended that minute and that they don’t offer happy hour where we were seated! Huh? Really? Done.
it's good. It's a place to go when you want your standard mexican fare. It's not bad but it isn't something that you would go across town to visit. Nothing wrong with that. To me it's a neighborhood restaurant that you visit time and time again and don't put much thought into it. Happy to go and happy to go back. Service can be hit or miss, I think our server was having a bad day, she didn't seem to want to be there. Happens, i'm sure next time it will be better.
One of the best Mexican restaurants anywhere. I’ve been a patron since the late 70’s and it’s still a great experience. And it’s just down the road from Venice Beach. How great is that?
Quaint setting, average food.
The restrooms were dirty and had zero toilet paper and towels!!
Service was spotty. Forgot to bring our chips and guacamole. Food excellent. Server said they were short staffed
Iove the location and atmosphere. Food is very mediocre. I had such a bland tostada salad.
I've been to this restaurant many times. My favorite dish is the Rosemary Chicken Enchiladas. They are delicious!!! Also, the churros are a must. They're fresh and are plated differently every time I have them.
The parking is a pain but your best bet is to pay for the convenience and valet. Will keep visiting until I have a reason not to.
Fast and friendly service. The best salsa ever! I love their chicken mole enchiladas!!!
We believe our credit card got hacked there and used the next day in 2 states
This place has been here for decades and I can see why: good, healthy Mexican food in a fun setting (next to the canal, with palm trees and other plants) with friendly servers. I had fish tacos which I loved and my friend had delicious tamales, always a special treat because they are so labor intensive! I will be back.
Best chips and salsa I’ve had in a long time. Good atmosphere. Decent Mexican with all the favorites
The menu i reviewed on Open Table was NOT the menu available at the restaurant. The prices were much much steeper. The second issue was the fly problem outside, flies were everywhere, hundreds of them which got annoying quick. Quesadillas were too wet but tasted ok otherwise. Server could not be found when i needed a check and I had to ask a bus boy. With all the food options in this neighborhood i would run the other way, the margaritas were classic out of a jug flavor as well.
Fun place to drink on Cinco but food & service is subpar.
Super Ambiente, Tisch im Freien, grosse Speisekarte, grosse Bier- und Tequila Auswahl, gute Weine und tolle Margaritas- was will man mehr
Can't go wrong with this fun restaurant. My husband always orders the fajitas because they are consistantly good. My shrimp tacos were a winner as well.
Always love it. We love sitting outside and the service is typically excellent.
We were seated right away and had an excellent dinner. The chips and salsa were so good we almost didn't need to order a meal!
Great food. We were there for Saturday lunch / brunch. The selection is very broad. The Mexican dishes were fantastic - well seasoned, spiced just right. The salad was great.
Living in the neighborhood, I am here often. Had some friends come down for a visit and was told if you have a reservation, no happy hour menu. They were busy that afternoon, but should honor happy hour drink prices.
Rib night! Massive amounts of food.
So, so good. Found this place on Google as we were looking for a place close to our hotel in MDR. They were able to take an immediate reservation. The salsa was spicy but so good and we ended up with two orders of guacamole because we couldn't get enough. Split two entrees between three of us and it was still more than enough food. Really neat atmosphere! Excellent service.
Great meal, great time with family. Service was a little slow because our server was overloaded, not his fault. We did enjoy Baja. We travel to MDR three times every year and always make a point to have dinner there.
We really like this place. Staff is always attentive, friendly and professional. Chips and salsa were awesome. First round margaritas of were frozen, second round were on the rocks. Rocks were better. Got the salsa verda chicken enchiladas and they were Santa fe quality. Highly recommend 👍☺️👌
Lovely Sunday morning brunch options if you're looking for tasty Mexican dishes.
This place was incredibly busy but we a reservation and they seated us right away. Service was brisk but friendly and the food was amazing. My daughter is vegan and loved the veggie burrito. The salsa was excellent (we ate 2 bowls). My fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. It is a bit of a circus, with people coming and going and lots of noise plus a tv, which I personally don't like. If you don't mind a lively atmosphere, I can't think of one reason not to eat here!
Admittedly, we were sacked after just having come out to LA from the east coast. But, that didn't change the fact that the food here left a lot to be desired. It's a cute place and the service was pretty good. The margaritas were not good at all. I wish I could leave a good review on or first night here.
We were in the neighborhood hungry and settled on this spot. The food wasn't very good but our server was very cordial about it and took one of our entrees off the bill. It was still fairly pricey considering we didn't drink alcohol, just water and only one entree and an appetizer. It looks like a nice spot for a drink but it just missed the mark for us.
Food is basic, starters are very good, main course were not refined as expected.
We had 2 drinks , Margarita and Mojito which are the basics for a Mexican place, they both were poorly made.
Place is OK for friends gathering no more than that.
Food was great - loved the fish taco sampler, and the homemade, warm tortilla chips are a nice touch.
The setting, outside in the sun, and service- we had a nice waitress, were very good. The food was totally lackluster. Perhaps, the drinks are good...we didn't imbibe!
