Arethusa al Tavolo
We very much enjoy dining at al Tavolo. The appetizers are great- we enjoyed the octopus, the clams flatbread and the chicken dumplings. Entrees were also very good- and top it all off with Arethusa ice cream is tough to beat.
We visited Arethusa al Tavolo for an anniversary meal on a Sunday. The food was simply joyful! We had an appetizer of lump crab that was so fresh and light it was Heaven and totally picture worthy (see attached photos). The chicken liver dumplings were light wontons and you could taste the wonderful flavor of the chicken liver through the tasty Armagnac Sauce. For the meals the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sammie was lightly crunchy with perfectly tender chicken. The other great meal was the ditalini and sausage and cheese dish. It was the most decadent rich macaroni and cheese I've ever had. Yum! Desserts were the perfect ending as they wrote Happy Anniversary in chocolate on the plate. It was awesome! Thank you so much! We kept saying "wow, wow, wow" all the way home.
Food is always fresh and delicious, with nice creative touches. And stopping by their ice cream shop is an extra treat.

Arethusa is a tremendously satisfying dining experience -- my only concern is that word will get out and it will be difficult to make a reservation. But that concern aside, it's the perfect place for a terrific meal in a lovely part of the country.

We went for my wife’s 50th Birthday. Everything was outstanding- each dish, service- everything. Better than most restaurants we’ve been to into NYC. We will continue to return here for special occasions. It is definitely worth the drive!
Absolutely the best restaurant in the area. The service, food and staff are impeccable. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and our anniversary. They had champagne and handwritten cards waiting for us. They even had a pair of reader glasses for me to use because I left mine at home! Now that’s thinking of everything!

Food was impeccable. Bartender (mixologist) was very friendly and imformative. Don't have anything bad to say other than for a birthday one may think that a dessert may be complimentary given how much money was spent.

I booked a table for my birthday. When we arrived, they gave me a birthday card from the staff. The food was amazing, service very friendly, and everything was so unpretentious. The food is on par with any Michelin starred restaurant I have eaten at but at a VERY reasonable price. I would absolutely eat here again. This is such a gem!

We have been here multiple times. Lunch has always been amazing. Somehow, food was very sweet . By the end, it was too much sugar. Didn’t feel it was worth the value.

One of our favorite restaurants anywhere. The farm to table experience is perfected from their locally owned farm. The ice cream from their dairy farm is some of the best I have ever had. I would give them a 6th star if it was possible.
Made booking for my husbands birthday online & never spoke to anyone. Upon arriving we were greeted like family, handed a lovely birthday card and treated to one of the most impeccably timed, visually stunning and mouthwatering brunches we’ve ever had. Every bite from the deviled eggs to the butter poached halibut to the rhubarb cake dessert was perfection. Owner, manager, all staff members seemed so happy to be working there. The vibe is casual elegant but definitely NOT stuffy. I remembered to make note that Every table had smiling faces. I predict it will named the best restaurant in the country. Can’t wait to go back!!!

Service was rushed and boarder line rude! If you can’t provide the same service and quality at a later seating please do not honor reservations at those times!
Food was incredible but not worth the price. Atmosphere just ok and service was very rushed like they wanted to turn the table. Wait staff just ok. The type of restaurant that if you aren’t a regular service is just okay. For the price I would expect perfection.
From the minute we arrived, the staff was extremely welcoming. They couldn’t have been more attentive or helpful about the menu. Our food from appetizers to main dishes were inventive and delicious. Especially loved the Deviled Egg Sampler and Artichoke Soup! Owner stopped by to chat, which was lovely as did the General Manager. Even staff who did not wait on us stopped by our table to wish us Happy Anniversary! Highly recommend this restaurant! We will be back!!
The food and atmosphere are fantastic at this gem in NW Connecticut. Truly a great destination and always worth the trip which is 90 minutes from our house.

Excellent food and pleasant experience. Their attention to details were truly remarkable. We wish the waiters were more knowledgeable of the food being served, although they took our inquires back to the chef to find answers.
Excellent food delivered on flavor and presentation. Wait staff was attentive and plentiful. Fine dining experience without being snooty, we were casually dressed yet felt very welcomed. The only ding I could give the experience was the view, but the truth be known, if your staring out the window at the abandoned Shell station across the street your missing out on the eye catching artistry right there on your plate.
The male host was rude and disrespectful of our disabilities...we walked out. We made reservations months in advance...our needs explained clearly. We waited 45 minutes patiently do to the day being a holiday and then were seated. The floor was extremely loud and we could not hear each other, and in trying to sit closer; we were yelled at. The host was belittling and disrespectful, along with trying to embarrass us in front of the whole restaurant with his "tantrumming;" to which the table next to us openly stated that they had no problems with our seating arrangement.
This is so sad, since the last time I was there, years ago...it was a wonderful experience. The host also misrepresented us and recorded us as "canceling" our reservation, which we didn't.

This was our second time dining here. The menu is always full of great options. The dishes are cooked perfectly and the flavors complement each other, always in the right proportions. The wait staff is professional and attentive. The price is right for something this good. I recommend the soup, this time it was asparagus. I had the pork on home made rolls, delicious fusion of asian influence with seasonal ingredients.
