Food was excellent and they celebrated my friend’s birthday with dessert and a candle! Great vibe!
Our waiter Chris was awesome! Atmosphere was super nice and really good food.
So amazing! The workers are so polite and make sure you have the best time there! Will definitely be going back (: loved it!! Such beautiful ambiance as well!
Food was ok but very overpriced, especially compared to similar Italian restaurants in the area. They were playing club music very loud, which created a very different atmosphere than what I had anticipated. Everything was “ok”, but nothing was “great!”
Going here satisfied my curiosity about the restaurant, but I would skip if you’re looking for a more romantic and authentic Italian spot for date night.
Server forgot some drinks when we initially ordered. It seemed the kitchen was running a bit late. Other than that we had an amazing time as most other visits there! Food always exquisite!
Great ambiance and service. Food was really good as well
One of my favorite restaurants! Staff and food never disappoint.
My wife and I came here for our 4 year anniversary and it was just perfect for a hot summer night. We sat outside in the patio and enjoyed some champagne and appetizers. Everything was delicious and the wait staff were attentive and prompt with our requests. I would highly recommend the Tuscan Seafood Pasta, it was one of the best dishes I've had in a while. Can't wait to come back.
This restaurant was on my list to try for a long time and tonight I happened to notice reservations were available so I jumped at the impromptu plan to dine there. Ambiance on the outdoor patio was lovely, but overall the service and food was poor. There was a wedding reception that was seated after us so perhaps it threw the restaurant off course a bit but I was very surprised by how bad things were. We ordered a Wedge salad and was given a plate with 3 leaves of romaine lettuce drenched with a cup of dressing, bacon, and almonds. The pizza dough was tough, cheese was too greasy, and arrived looking burnt. I suspect they use premade crusts. Our entrees (chicken piccata and another pasta dish) were fine but nothing amazing. No one came to refill our drinks or check in. I had to hold my credit card in the air to get the waiter to come over. We suspected we might just have had an overwhelmed staff or caught the restaurant on a bad night but it was shocking how bad it was relative to the number of positive reviews. Sometimes if everyone is having a great time and in good company one remembers things as better than they are. I didn’t have a bad time but my meal was not worth the $140 I spent on it. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back to give the place another shot, but it will be awhile before I want to try again.
The best chicken piccata I have ever had the service was incredible the food was amazing the whole evening was perfect
Food is delicious and service is quick and attentive !
This used to be a great place but has quickly turned into the Chuckie Cheese of Italian food. Booster chairs and crying babies combined with poor service and rickety IKEA patio furniture make this more like a children’s amusement park than an elegant dining experience.
The best pasta in San Diego or maybe the whole USA
Food matches the excellent service
Zach was awesome! He was attentive and very friendly. The food had a lot of flavor and was cooked perfectly. I will be definitely going back there again.
We had outdoor reservation at 515pm and the lady took us to the outdoor patio. We noticed several (4 tables) open tables with shade available and I requested if we can get that table since it was really hot and I was with my 8 month pregnant friend. They declined. I didn’t ask twice since I thought they were reserved already. We were there for almost 2 hours. Table were still open. That was just really bad customer service. Anywho, lobster ravioli was good, but not the best. Hopefully they improve on their customer service.
The food was delicious and the serving amount is very reasonable for the price. Our server was exceptional.
Server was very friendly. Showed off his Spanish :)
Food and ambience was good.
Recommend you get there early to find parking. City removed parking spots to accommodate bikers. The whole time we were there, we didn’t see a single rider.
Alejandres staff was patient to wait for all members to our party.
Always delicious. Great atmosphere! We love the lasagne and Cappellini Pomodoro with chicken! Generous portions.
Really enjoyable night with family - it was great to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the night, while having a great meal and wine.
Great food. Fantastic ambiance. Love the big booths.
Chris was our server and he was great! The food portions are huge, and delicious.
The food and service was great. I would recommend this place.
Nice place, great service, great food and ambiance. We'll be going there again. We had the bolognese, spaghetti meatballs, bass, fettuccine with shrimp, they were all good and good portions.
Service is poor
Food is good
Really great food! I had the gluten free noodles and I’m still full
My boyfriend and I had a great time ♥️
Amazing birthday experience! This place is a gem! Service, food and outdoor patio could not have been better. Thank you for making my birthday special!!!
Alexander's is one of the best Italian restaurants in San Diego
Beautiful restaurant, maybe the most beautiful restaurant in town. Request a booth to get away from the lights and sounds of the street.
Alexander's seafood pasta is my favorite in all of San Diego. I gauge other restaurant's pasta against Alexander's and no other comes close. Although I had reservations, we sat at the bar initially and opted to stay at the bar instead of moving to our table. Server was very efficient, gave us recommendations when scallops weren't on the menu and red wine recommendations and checked on us periodically to make sure we were good.
Everything was perfect, per the usual.
Perfect every time. Sorry I do not remember servers name but he was awesome. Good delicious and restaurant is lovely.
Love the food, location and staff is amazing.
We've been coming to Alexander's to celebrate special occasions for several years now. It never disappoints.
Excellent as always
Unfortunately the food was not up to par. It was either overcooked, bland, lacking any flavor. We also waited over an hour for our food. Sadly, we won't be returning.
Good food and wine. Waiter gave good suggestions. Would come here again👍
I have never been disappointed at Alexander’s. The food, wine and service are perfect every time.
For a Monday evening they ran out of many items on the menu, including Chardonay, all breads so no bruschetta, sandwiches, garlic bread etc. By the end of our meal they actually ran out of table water. We will not be returning.
