Phenomenal food and the synchronized attentive service will each leave a lasting memory!
This is our first time back to Addison since the pandemic shutdowns and it is as spectacular as it ever was. We chose the 10-course meal and enjoyed all 14 courses (a few extra plates were added by the chef). From the opening hors d'oeuvres to the Wagyu beef 2.5 hours later, the experience was a delight. The sommelier and the waitstaff were knowledgable, efficient and unobtrusive. The evening was an expensive one but worth every cent.
We made a great memory to celebrate my wife’s birthday.
All staff and service is really great.
Obviously wonderful tasting menus!!
Absolutely phenomenal experience. Food was over the top and every single person in the building was the kindest most attentive staff that I have experienced. One of my top dining experiences - and I am and travel regularly. We did the 10 course tasting menu.
Overrated. Does not deserve a Michelin star. Ambiance was no fun. Food was average. Staff were great.
The service and food were incredible, very much an experience. But the price tag is very high
Quite possibly our best meal to date!
What a lovely time! I went with my husband to celebrate our wedding a few days prior. Definitely a splurge for us, This is one of the few Michelin restaurants we’ve been to and it is well deserving of the rating. We had the 10 course menu and a bottle of rosé. Beautiful presentation in each course and such attentive wait staff.
I would also like to say though we were eating outside of our budget I did not feel uncomfortable being out of place. I’ve never had a restaurant have a chair/table for my purse!
Downsides were that I had to book my dining experience several months in advance, and if weren’t for such a big celebration I would not be able to afford dining here again. Once in a lifetime experience
Fabulous experience! From the moment we walked in we felt transported. Phenomenal service made us feel like royalty. The food and wine pairings were amazing - every course stood out yet was a part of a bigger story. Highly recommend to anyone wanting an experience of a life time
Excellent food. French techniques with Asian touches. Exemplary service. Well orchestrated meal. Knowledgeable sommelier with an extensive wine list.
Would definitely make a point of returning whenever I made it back.
The staff was amazing! They could not have been nicer and kinder and any more professional. What a fantastic experience! Thank you.
Amazing service and food. Made my fiancé’s birthday extra special. We did the 10 course-traditional, and we really appreciated the well-thought out courses. We enjoyed every single course!
When you are going to Addison, you are going to have an experience. You will not be disappointed as the food is amazing, the service is impeccable, and you will remember your meal for weeks and months to come. The only reason why they get a 'good' on value is that is a metric of the affordability of the experience. The experience will be off-the-charts memorable, and you will absolutely pay for that experience. If you are looking for affordability, you should go somewhere else.
We ate at Addison's last night and had the best dining experience. The staff was extremely attentive. However what made our meal exceptional, was the food. Our meal was a journey of beautiful food and food filled with layers of flavor in each bite. We will be back in October. Thank you Addison's for making our 40th wedding anniversary memorable!
I mean, this place is incredible. You have to go through a gated area just to get in and the building is absolutely stunning. I think we were hoping for something that was really "wow" and didn't quite get that. The champagne that we got was really the most interesting thing we had. That said, if you're looking for an experience - this is truly it - from the waiters synchronizing bringing your dishes to you to just being somewhere that looks like Wayne Manor from Batman.
The experience was wonderful but even though the food is exquisite it is rich upon rich without a break. Also the tiny quail mad me sad.
Perhaps it’s best to only go for 5 courses not 10.
it is not worth it to spend $300 to have just 2 pieces of tiny wagyu and truffles.
Really lovely 10 course meal with wine pairing. It cost an arm and a leg but worth celebrating our 11 year anniversary. Class A service, synchronized plating and just outstanding time. I was hungover the next day but super excited to come back. I hope i don't have to wait another 11 years :)
The most amazing dining experience. The food, service, ambiance were all exceptional and it made for a memorable evening. The 5 course meal was plenty of food. We opted for the upgraded courses and thought it was worthwhile. Don’t hesitate to give Addison a try!
Easily the best restaurant in San Diego. Top 10 in California.
Perhaps the only place in SoCal you can get squab.
My wife and I went for our anniversary and it was well worth the experience, I can readily say that the food was some of the best I've ever had - in fact the "eggs and rice" dish gave me so much pause it felt like a religious experience, as ridiculous as that may sound. One day I hope to go again
Love everything here. Top cocktails, best tasting menu in SD
Special food for special occasion. Definitely recommend.
All in all, our experience at the Addison was phenomenal! I gave 4 stars on service because we had empty wine glasses (with our nearly full bottle) on our table for a good 5-10 minutes (enough time for me to sit and wait, eventually get up to use the restroom, come back and sit down, and still wait a few minutes until someone came to fill up our wine glasses). Also, if this is not proper etiquette, please forgive me. However, as a lefty, I would love the experience to have my silverware placed on the proper side for my eating rather than always on the side for a righty.
Exceptional place. Has to be compared to French Laundry type. I have been to French Laundry twice over 10 years ago. This 5 course meal compared well in food. Not quite as outstanding at fl but excellent.
Negatives: the Waiter who introduced us to the menu was obnoxious in overselling. This is not appropriate for this sort of place-- it is not retail clothes outlet. We were very put off by thisl The truffle option is not worth it in view of my wife and I , we don't really taste it and price absurd.
Other than that the service was excellent. It was my wife's birthday and they paid attention to that. again except for saying , "oh get the truffle it is her birthday " -- hyperselling. They were attentive, efficient. etc.
the food: the main point: indeed unusual , interesting, elegant. Nothing like it in this region. Worth it for us, something special . Several dishes were just super. I suggest you give people something printed so they can think about what they are eating.
FL prints their menu, you can see it on line. even ahead of time.
I don't think this is more than one star at this point.
the decor is quite dull, in our view. without imagination, flair.
Nice big room view but dull.
The food was incredible, but the entire experience—the service, the atmosphere—of dinner was absolutely amazing. With advance notice, they were able to accommodate my guest’s seafood allergy and seemed pleased to do so. Would highly recommend.
Food was delicious and staff was friendly and helpful. Already planning to come back!
The 10 courses were good but i’d say a tad less original and creative than an equivalent 1-star restaurant in Europe and a LOT more expensive. About twice the price. We have dined at a Joel Robuchon 3- star restaurant in Honk Kong that was less expensive.
The service was perfect and we had a great evening.
Fantastic. Meal to remember
Wow! I feel like a million bucks dining here. the food and service were like nothing I have experienced in San Diego. It is on the high-end pricing but it is well worth it for the thought and quality service each person at this restaurant provides. I dont recommend taking and children or people who dont appreciate the art of food here, it'd be a waste.
We had the choice of pescatarian or regular and between 5 or 10 courses, we went all out. Definitely more than enough for the eyes, the feels, and the tummy!
The service was superb. The food was, without a doubt, the most unique and wonderful we had ever experienced.
Our waiter gets our highest praise. Informative, helpful, all that one could wish.
We shall return.
Great experience! We woke up the next day still thinking about it. We had an outstanding 10 course tasting and 8 wine pairing. I’ve been to a number of Michelin restaurants and Addison is worthy of 2 stars in my humble opinion.
For a one star Michelin restaurant we found the menu uneven. There were very high highs but also some meh dishes. We also felt the menu flow needed work as it seemed to not truly flow.
Amazing experience at Addison! Can’t wait to go back again!
Very expensive but the food was amazing. FYI for a part of two we paid $807 with tip and that included two Champaigns two non alcoholic drinks and one wine.
We wanted to love Addison. We have enjoyed haute cuisine from around the world, and Addison just did not measure up. Definitely not worth the cost.
Made reservations and noted a shellfish allergy a month ahead, but instead of getting a different course, the person with the allergy just received it without the fish. Example - one person is having caviar with sauce over risotto; other gets just risotto. (One course did substitute tofu for cod). This made for an odd experience - one person is trying to enjoy the caviar, but feels bad that the other person is not.
We planned for the ten course. The upsell as soon as we sat down felt tacky. Upsell to “luxury” menu, wine pairings, luxury wine pairings, additional bottle of wine, etc. Without disclosing prices. In the end, we did the 10 course luxury menu with a wine pairing. $1551 before tip for 2 people. If it had been an extraordinary experience I would say it was expensive but that’s what you pay for.
Food was hit or miss. First 2 courses well done! Squab was very under cooked and quite grainy. Disappointing.
Waygu was excellent, as was the bread. The chips were fun. The other courses were good, but not over the top.
Service was also not to expectation. The staff were nice but at least 3 times set out glasses, came and took them back. During the meal - at least 3 times - staff put silverware down for the next course while we were still eating the current course. Felt odd and rushed.
Upsold on a bottle of wine bottled the year we were married. Cute idea. Told us would be $100 for half bottle. They did the pours, and then took the bottle. Just as well. Wine was not decanted and had sediment in the glass, so didn’t enjoy it. They did notice that and removed the charge from our bill.
Like I said, we wanted to love Addison, but it was just not meant to be.
Absolutely amazing experience. This is the first dining in San Diego. We have been to multiple Michelin restaurants around the world and this restaurant is better.
I am a very very picky eater and I was able to taste and enjoy the experience.
Chef accommodated by food preferences.
It was a lovely evening
One of the most amazing meals of my life. Very expensive, but worth it for such an experience.
